      I thought I was alone and it's nice to know that I am not. This man is literally thinking everything I've known since studying our economy how it works, taxes / how that works, investments/stocks, business, life, history, and observing other countries as I speak and comprehend 6 different languages. Nobody in this world can realize their full potential and it's sad how they are lost and guided by complete and utter selfish billionaires/government and those dinosaurs will be extinct pushing forward.

Any company in a major space like Machine learning, 3D printing, electrification, drones, climate change etc. Will be worth looking to invest in! If good leadership and people. And I’m betting because of the hype that machine learning and AI get, 3d printing, drones, smaller companies that help electrification (in mining, etc.) will be where the money lies and the big winners too but that’s slight gambling.

    • @catlas_
      @catlas_ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Stadia has been in the works since the inception of Google Fiber. They intended to roll out cloud gaming alongside the adoption of the new low-latency internet service but quickly ran into regulatory walls whenever they tried to expand in areas other than rural Kansas or Missouri. They've invested roughly $500M into Stadia and will likely never see a speck of that in returns. Imagine all of the novel ways that capital could've been allocated and the impact it'd have. This is a motivational driving force for me as an entrepreneur.

    • @momojarwan1641
      @momojarwan1641 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@catlas_ Don't knock the gaming industry. It has seen year on year growth and is expected to be $250b industry by 2022. The amount of money games pull is smashing big box office intakes. For example GTA V pulled over $1b in just the first week of release. No movie has ever done that in the box office.
      If Google can capture the cloud gaming market then they have the ability to squeeze every penny of revenue into their pockets. Don't forget they already own all the advertising platforms in their pockets such as TH-cam and their search engine.
      As a fan of Sony Playstation since the first one came out, I do not believe the Playstation brand will survive post PS5. Microsoft at least has cloud infrastructure but Sony is behind on this. XBOX can compete in the cloud with Stadia but Sony is going to have to rely on others to supply this.
      The gaming industry is moving into the cloud and Google is trying to get a lead on everyone else.

    The idea very high taxation won’t impact GDP is absurd. High taxes move money away from private sector to the government. It reduces private sector’s ability to invest and increases government expenditure. When it comes to using money, government is very ineffective (around 50% is wasted before reaching its target) and “investment” decisions are basically political.

      Is there another way for the government to pay off debt and already committed unfunded liabilities?

    • @Andy-xb5qg
      @Andy-xb5qg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@threebigideas3488 Yes, printing money (what we have been doing forever). Don’t forget US debt is bigger than the GDP, so, even with a hypothetical 100% tax on everything it wouldn’t be enough. Not to mention a very high tax would make the private sector disappear and, as consequence, the GDP would collapse, making the situation by far worse (It’s pretty much what happened in Soviet Union and other communist countries). As far as the economy continues to grow and the level of imports remains high (so we can make sure to “export” inflation), printing money is not a big problem.

    Chamath totally misses that FB targeted ads allow small/medium/startup business to thrive. He ignores the massive boost of that specific ROI is to US GDP. That is incredible innovation.

    • @evanmoyer6735

      Not the point. If government feels Facebook is destroying competition and taking away power from the government they’ll split it up. They’ll still have the services for targeted ads
