    you've officially changed my mind. I was going to get the stock 6s, but after your pause of the TLR tuned version I'm getting that one now. great video. 👍

      the stock 6s is still faster and can handle more power. I'm not 100% sure that's what I've read

    Great review of both cars. It's really a tough choice for someone who doesn't race. I sure like the Tuned Typhon but being on a budget the stock 6s would probably be the best choice. There are so many after market parts for both cars you could probably go broke just upgrading. I think the TLR wouldn't need much upgrading and it is nice to be able to install the electronics of your choice.

      No, you don't go broke upgrading the typhon you go broke keeping it running 😂. I replace the spur and pinion twice a month 😢

    The TLR Arrma actually has a slightly different oil as well as size and quantity of holes on the pistons in the shocks and everything anodized including the hinge pin braces is 7075. The other differences is the suspension mounting locations is for higher tunability for varied handling characteristics. I lot of the tuning can also be found on their Losi 5ive T which are meant to be 100% track ready out of the box.

      Also the front springs use a different part number compared to the standard Typhon. Rears are the same.

    Allso there more options on the trl. It has exentric inserts on the hinge barrs on the low end of the frond and rear swaybars. And both have the option to lengthen/shorten the wheelbase.

    I ended doing my TLR roller for about $600. Stock Arrma Motor & ESC, AFGRC Servo, Flysky FGr8b rx to go with my NB4+

    Those shocks on the tlr tuned one are the same except they put machine tapered shock pistons on the tlr for a little better performance and rebound. But you were right on the shock body part, they are the same there. By the way the shocks in the tlr have 42.5wt oil. Nice job on the vid though👍

    • @yonicozac
      @yonicozac 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the shocks are actually longer, giving you option for more droop than is possible on the v5. also the shock lower orings are X type and not dounught shaped

    Great video,
    Big difference you didn't mention is the plastic inserts surrounding the Hinge pins for adjusting camber, toe etc..... AND this really effects the front upper Hinge pin only connecting directly to the bulkhead with two screws😳 it's easy to kill the bulkhead with a tower impact and destroy the two tabs holding the tower on, the TLR has plastic inserts for upper front Hinge pin so it just floats in the plastic.... This is a race technique but BAD for bashing. I just got a TLR one and didn't notice this till I purchased and I will be upgrading to M2C front Upper Hinge pin and M2C tower to beef up the front end.
    Great video, but that is a big difference to me honestly 👍

    If I’m not mistaken, it’s rated 4s because that is the highest they allow for racing. Love them both!

    • @cd-pu5uv
      @cd-pu5uv ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's because the class only allows 4s, I bash on mine with 6s and it's fun but no way I could control it on the track I'd get smoked by 2s cars. Lol.

    What o-rings do you use in the driveshaft cups?

    • @user-vi4zp6ly6j
      @user-vi4zp6ly6j 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The silicone o rings from your shock build kit if you can not find the o rings buy a small piece of nitro fuel tubing cut off a tiny tiny piece put into outdrive cups and solved you can also use the tubing for shocks bump stops.

    Im not 100% decided yet. However, if I go TLR Roller, will go Savox SW1210g servo, Spectrum 4S Electronics (Jennysrc), with DX3 Transmitter & 6200A Reciever (

  • @nickvledder
    @nickvledder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Topspeed means nothing, control everything. I would go for 4s and improve my skill-set.

  • @vapeapetn
    @vapeapetn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd like to buy the TLR Roller myself, then go on jennysrc, and buy all electronics for Vortek ( AVC, better transmitter)(3S). Or go DX3 receiver and transmitter but consider the New 4S electronics. I would heavily go with a Savox Servo if me.

    If you want a race buggy buy a race buggy? , Losi ,Tekno ,Mugen, Kyosho all make super top end race buggy's, If you can find a Team Durango DNX8 its basically a Arrma Typhon in a nitro version, Arrma RC are still registered as Arrma Team Durango LTD, hint hint.

    Thank you for not supporting Traxxas products! I just left my LHS & they had two walls covered in Traxxas parts & one wall for the rest of the manufacturers. That should be a huge warning for people buying new rcs.

    I think RTR is the biggest marketing scam ever it doesn't mean you have everything still need your battery charger for all this RC noobs out there I just spent $750 Canadian on a arrma typon with battery and charger and found out the hard way

    Great Video! ARA340188 The Aluminum Steering Plate (it is black aluminum vs red, both are aluminum, not plastic) Thank you for the detailed comparison! This is confirmed with the Exploded View Manual for the Typhon Roller
