    Just watched your apartment tour from a year ago…. I thought it was super cool just my size. Anyway, I subscribed and am here catching up.

    Your work day is so so sooooo long. But you do seem to have a great routine and a sense of purpose.

      It is interesting that you say that. This is the shortest workday of my life, and also relatively short to the average work hours in japan. The routine and purpose definitely help me through the work week 😂

      @ A teaching day in South Africa is from 7.30am - 3.00pm but then the marking and admin is completed at home and stretches late into the night. I think the loads of extra murals and additional stresses with behaviour management and parents and children who constantly challenge teaching staff, adds to the stress. Class size is also a factor.

      English teaching job in japan is the easiest and most abundant option

    Wow, I was surprised when you said you leave at around noon. How do you feel about the later hours compared to where you were at before? Either way, super cool to see what it's like outside of the typical JET program setup.

      Thanks for watching! The job and hours are all so vastly different from JET. I like it, but in general I do want to get out out teaching at some point 🤞

    I have a bachelor's degree in economics education from Ghana. Do I have chance to teach in Japan?

      I think yes, as long as you have relevant experience and you are interested in Japan the language and children. By relevant experience I just mean something that shows you have the ability to adapt and the ability to teach in someway.

    Hello, good job with the video! Can I teach english in Japan with a degree in accounting? I plan on majoring in accounting, but I want to know if that’s an option because i’ve always wanted to teach.

    • @kimberdesu140

      I think it is possible but you will need to show an interest in japan, learning the language, and working with kids. Do volunteer work, an internship involving children, take a lesson in japanese, brush up on current events. This will help you majorly since you major isn’t really related to teaching.

    I thought in Japan students are responsible for cleaning and tidying up the classroom?

    • @kimberdesu140
      @kimberdesu140  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At public school, yes. It is still very much like what you think. The kids “clean” the school 😂 I say it like that because actually I have worked at a school where the kids clean and it was very different from what I thought. But I work for Tokyo International School After School now. This is a private company and at this company they model their values off of Tokyo International School. This international school does things similar to how they are done in western idealized countries. So they wear their shoes indoors and they have janitors, and so on. It is different from public schools, and as more foreigners move to Japan I can see a lot of private schools opening up and introducing this style into the country.
