    Question of the Day: What is something that takes you back to your childhood? ⏰

    • @ikuo-sunrise7375
      @ikuo-sunrise7375 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi JeN!
      You look absolutely stunning in that wedding dress!
      I'm sure your wedding was a splendid and unforgettable one.
      You sang the song ‘ Arigatou (ありがとう) ’ beautifully.
      As you may know,the song is sung by ‘ Ikimonogakari (いきものがかり) ’ .The music group has three members,but Mr. Yamashita is going to leave the group in going on two months.
      Speaking of my childhood,I seldom remember it because a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then.
      We've been having school reunions every five years on the whole.When we get together,I tend to have same kind of conversation with my friends.However,school reunions take me back to my childhood.After this terrible pandemic is over,I'd like to see my friends face to face at a school reunion someday in the near future.
      I've got a COVID-19 vaccine Moderna intramuscular injection three days ago.Fortunately,I had no symptoms of side effects from the inoculation.The second shot is scheduled on July 15th.
      Have a good one!
      Ikuo

      Hi Ikuo 🌞. Thanks for your nice comment and compliment ☺️. My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years now, but the memory of our wedding is so fresh in my mind that it feel much more recent than that, but at the same time I can't even imagine my life without him 😁. How long have you and your wife been married for?
      🎶 Actually, I am surprised by your comment about Ikimonogari since I thought the group broke up back in 2017. I had no idea that they were still together😅. I discovered the group when I lived in Japan and really liked their music. 🤩
      That's so cool that you have school reunions. Are your school reunions for high school, jr. high, or elementary school? I think it would be great to have a reunion with my old classmates, but I lost touch with a most of my previous classmates once I had started university and moved to Toronto. I hope you will enjoy a wonderful reunion once the pandemic is finally over ✨.
      Speaking of the pandemic, I am glad to hear that everything went well with your first dose of the covid vaccine 👍🏻.

      @@JeNsJyugyou Hi JeN!Thank you for your heartfelt comment also this time.I really appreciate it.
      Our school reunions are both for high school and jr. high.
      But,unfortunately many friends went six feet under.
      Your favorite music group Ikimonogakari once had paused their activities for about a year.Now they have come back and are standing on the front line.I love their songs especially ‘ Kaze ga fuiteiru (The wind is blowing) ’.As you may know,Yoshiki Mizuno is really something as a composer.He has been providing quite a few songs to other singers and music groups.
      Have a good one!
      Ikuo

    Do you teach Japanese/ Nihongo also ?

    • @JeNsJyugyou
      @JeNsJyugyou  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aditya 😎. Thanks for asking🤗. Unfortunately, I am only at a level N3 on the JLPT so I don't think I am qualified enough to teach Japanese at this time. Maybe if I improve my skills more (Kanji is killer)😅. A really helpful set of Japanese textbooks that I used to help myself study is Minna no Nihongo: amzn.to/3zLwRi4 🇯🇵 🇨🇦 I wish you the best of luck with your language studies ✨.

    • @JeNsJyugyou
      @JeNsJyugyou  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, N1 is the highest and most advanced level for the JLPT😅. It's backwards, I know, but the Japanese language proficiency test starts at level N5 as a beginner level and then counts backwards to the hardest level 😁.
      In terms of speaking Japanese, one of my favourite TH-camrs who teaches Japanese is Hitoki @Onomappu. He teaches a lot of Japanese onomatopoeia which are not actually taught in textbooks, but are used often in actual Japanese conversations 👍🏻.
      Another textbook I found helpful was Japanese for Busy People: amzn.to/3gMcAQS , maybe that's the one you're thinking of. I've never used it, but I've heard good things about Genki : amzn.to/3gPsom2 📚
      And yes, I agree... kanji is the most difficult part 🤓

    • @JeNsJyugyou
      @JeNsJyugyou  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally understand about being in a plateau with language learning. It's happened to me many times and I often see it happen with my students, too. The key is to not get discouraged and try approaching the language from a new perspective or focusing on a different skill. Don't give up! 💪
      Congrats on mastering katakana and hiragana, that's over 100 new characters right there 🎉! I remember being so excited once I got those two down and could read simple menus in Japanese 😅. Keep up the good work ✨.
      Speaking and conversation can be quite difficult if you're unable to find someone to practice speaking with. I was lucky to have the privilege of living in Japan for four years while working as an English teacher at a local high school. I was able to make many Japanese friends and practice my speaking with them...one of my Japanese friends and I became very close and now he's my husband 😉.
      Although grammar is obviously somewhat important for communication, vocabulary and confidence are the two most important things that are needed 😎. In addition, being able to think in your target language is key since taking the time to translate everything while speaking takes too long and isn't an effective. I've made a video about how to think in English to improve English fluency, but from experience I know the same advice is also helpful for learning Japanese: th-cam.com/video/xpifJO8mxFE/w-d-xo.html 🤗
