Honestly, back in OW1 people used to grind for seasons to just rank up one tier - with multiple ups and downs and roadblocks and success. People today expect to get a new rank after 5 -10 matches of standard gameplay. This new rank system truly has changed the general mentality and perception of what it means to improve and deserve a climb.
One of the biggest topics used to be 2800-2900 elo plat players who were sooo close to reaching Diamond, everyone would talk about the infamous 2990 matches where people would play with stakes that felt like it was T500 sweat lobbies cus everyone knew how much one or two wins would mean at that point. Now? "I got 5w 2l why am I not getting from silver to masters?!" seems to be the norm lol.
But back to your comment, yes the attitude is inspiring and something that feels like it was kinda lost in transition from OW1 to OW2, so great to see people keeping the banner high still.

@@BananaWasTakensame, I'm used to stuck in bronze because of bronze 5 bug for 3 seasons (since first season), and manage to go to silv 5 I think mid season 3 or early season 4, and now still stuck at silv for 4 seasons

@@Real_MisterSir The difference between ow1 and ow2's ranked system though is that in ow1 it was 1k SR to go up a rank. and seeing as you got ~20-30 SR per win, it was a much bigger deal. but in ow2 the additions of divisions in each tier means that it only takes the equivalent of 100 SR to rank up or down as instead of going from silver to gold, you now are going from silver two to silver one to gold 5, etc. This results in a card of 5-0 theoretically netting ~100-150 SR which should give a rank change within divisions.
I wish they had kept the original SR system as I much rather prefer seeing exactly how close I am and the divisions don't really mean anything to me other than a show that I am deranking or ranking up. I'm happy with what they showed off during Blizcon as a replacement ranked system though.

Wow you get green weapons but in ow 1 you at least had stuff like lootboxes and credits where you could earn stuff but now you dont get anything.
@@aurora6685 You're saying this as though I'm defending the game in any way. It's dogshit and I don't pretend like it's anything to the contrary. However, it's like Flats said in a recent video, I keep playing because I'm moderately decent at it and I don't want to put in the time to learn a whole new game to be a mainstay for me.
Both my main multiplayer games in OW and RL have had lots of bad moments, but they're also the games I have a deeper connection with.
I don't have much faith with new comp changes except that it'll feel better game to game as there'd be a hollow sense of progression rather than the 5/15 system atm.
The guy talking about playing tracer to get better at ana at the end is 100% right. I one-tricked lucio in my first month of ow. I sucked and learned nothing. When I started branching out, I got way better. Not only by understanding abilities and how to use them, but also it helps you get a feel of different positions and playstyles, one of the reasons I top-frag when playing with friends; they play just one role and a few characters within that role, but I switch it up sometimes.
Moral of the story: try new characters and don't one-trick until you have a good understanding of the game.

True, but then there’s the devs nerfing characters like Reinhardt because they’re “destroying low lobbies”. Meanwhile characters like Kiriko, Bap, and Mercy are universally agreed to be too powerful.
@@scumknight6074 lol mercy is almost unanimously agreed upon to be one of the worst supports right now. Kiri and Bap can fit in every comp. Mercy only fits in specifics niches pocketing specific dps. Karq has a great vid. Flats last tier list too

I don’t respect takes from high level players. Most players aren’t high level, so their take is situational at best. I respect a random gold’s take more than a top500.
For me personally, I never thought Freedo was killing Overwatch. I just got tired of the droning on and on forever about PVE being canceled. Sure it sucked but beating a dead horse isn't going to bring it back and it got really annoying. I have a feeling "they're killing the game" was a good scapegoat and bandwagon thing to say at the time about him.
It's a way to deflect criticism without admitting to actual reason. While not enjoying constant negativity around a game is a completely valid perspective, it's also a personal one and not really seen as a "logical reason" why someone is wrong.
Tons of people do this. A personal beef or complaint us weak compared to a criticism, so they appropriate or create a vague argument that sounds logical enough to so they can more easily justify their decision.

I also think you can learn how to play some characters by maining another, but in a fundamental way rather than learning how to counter them, for example, I one-trick Moira (In Masters/GM) but surprisingly when I tried Lucio and Ramattra in competitive I felt like a fish in the water, it was really easy to learn both and to apply what I've learnt with Moira on them. Maybe is it because they are all rush characters but I found it really intresting

For the first one, I kinda agree but not with the way they "kill" a game. CC/Streamers made gaming overly competitive because of all the tutorials, hyper competitive streamers who are popular. Every game you play nowadays is competitive in some way shape or form, because there are ALWAYS content creators who post videos, about the best way to play, the most efficient tactic available ( META ) and for me at least, that kills gaming. And that comes from somebody who played counter strike at a very high level in FaceIt... I cant play any game anymore without this bullshit. No Streamers/CC cant kill games because of critizing, thats ridiculous.

Playing support actually taught me how to play tank. As a tank player when I was first starting the game I did not fully understand the game and I would feed more than I should so I played a ton of support as Kiriko and Mercy and realized “ah yes I do not like it when my tanks do these things” and since I was such a low rank I had a lot of those moments so when I was done playing a lot of support I came back with better tank instincts and now I’ve honed those instincts so thoroughly that I’ve climbed out of bronze and I am currently undefeated in my gold games and I feel proud of myself for learning and climbing how I did because when I play stupid I imagine I’m in a flats bronze video and he’s roasting me until I don’t play stupid anymore
One of my ALTs got muted because I said " Pharmercy is fun " referring to the enemy team, which caused them to crumble in on themselves and lose a game they were gonna roll us on.
The Mercy Mafia has already came at me, they won the battle...but not the war.
I highly doubt that’s the reason.

Action can also be taken on something you did a week ago, not the last game played. I've said mild stuff all the time in chat for 7 years and never once had action against me. I've even said to a Mercy "how does it feel to be a healing pylon?" . So excuse my skepticism about you saying something innocent in chat.

It’s gonna depend on the game, if it’s something from a big brand it won’t be effected but if it’s some indie game the relies on influencers for publicity it probably will lose sales
Saying bad things about a game still gives it publicity, that’s why certain drama documentary TH-camrs blur out names and brands.

The ranked thing for apex is not what the pros directly ruined, everyone wanted ranked changes, what he is talking about is meta and some pieces of loot that got changed that took a lot of fun goofy things away to make it more competitive which no one wanted except pros.
I would end to "when you can see your enemies and team and have cover" i would also add a way to escape from a difficult situation. But i might be wrong.
Playing sombra made me learn how far the throwy thing goes so ended up everytime sombra dived my ana as bap I would help out and make her try and escape and already have the shot lined up where she was gonna land. Like once u learn those lines sombra leaves makes it so easy

When I played the flanker DPS (tracer, Sombra), it made me more aware on what to look out for when I played support,
Same with support, when I played support, I know what to look out for when I play other role on what to do if my supp said I'm out of their Los, or reloading and etc
Expanding the hero pool in this game actually help understanding each role better

The last one is real. 75% win rate and don't climb. I went 15 and 0 then went 4 and 5 and ended up lower than I was when I got on.
For the record, spots you can stand on are not necessarily illegal. Spots where you slide and move (called stall spots) are illegal. Basic rule of thumb imo is if you can emote in your spot, you can use it.
As a flex god master on all roles on multiple heros, he is spot on.
Playing lots of different things makes you better at your main role and main hero.
You dont have the right to complain about other heros when the only thing you can play is mercy and your other roles are 2 ranks lower than your mercy.
Sure you can complain but nobody is taking you seriously. Your opinion doesnt matter until you know whatbits like to be in that position as that dps or that tank struggling vs the enemy because your team is running mercy/lucio, mercy/weaver while the enemy is running ana/zen, kiri, or bap.

The new ice grappler was taken out of the game after 2-3 days because the community spoke out about how broken it is.
People complained about weekly quest in chapter 4 season 3 because of how luck based they were, and in the following season all of the weekly quest had little to no RNG.
Also they actually listen to their community and constantly pump out new content.
Zero build was such a smart decision by them. It removes the huge skill gap between new players and old players and gives you a point of entry into the game. Its why its still so popular, it appeals to a huge majority of players.
Lego fortnite, rocket racing and fortnite festival are all new modes that are super fun to play as well. All in just 1 new chapter.
Compare that to OW2's release which gave us push, tank reworks, sojourn, 1 really shitty map (colosseo) and 2 ok/decent maps and its obvious on which dev team is better.

I had a 70% win percentage in about 70+ games at the start of the season I didn’t not move from gold 2 I currently have 130 games with a 61 % and I’m plat 3 my average card was 5-2 my rank up cards were 5-4 and 5-5 the closer I am to 50% the more I climb

I'm gonna just quit completely if they don't ban the console cheaters, literally 5 games in a row of ximmers and I almost uninstalled, I will probably play the new season for a little bit but if they don't do anything nothing will change.
If you're a low rank console player don't try to get too good because high rank lobbies are actually unplayable. This is coming from a t500 player, the reward is not worth the hours and days of getting pocketed ashe headshot or 1shot over and over by a widow everytime you peak a corner and all you can do is wait for the loss.
I do agree content creators cant kill a game, buuuut they can definitely speed up the the process. Like removin self revive from apex. That was a change that the content creators wanted that definitely upset alot of people

I think there is a big difference between complaining about aspects of the game that could be improved for the betterment and just complaining about the game to complain about the game and 90% of the people that I come across that are complaining or not complaining about the functions of a character that need improvement or how a certain character is over, powered or under powered nine out of the 10 times I see any complaints it is either one solely to complain about a character because they are terrible at the game, and they cannot reflect on themselves so they blame every character that can kill them or they’re not actually complaining about the character they’re complaining about the people who play the character which is different. I think opinions are perfectly acceptable to have within reason and once you start going beyond constructive criticism, too hurtful and cruel now you’re just an asshole. I want to see people out there, giving their opinions to improve the game, but once you are no longer trying to actually improve the game and you were just shitting on people, the game itself or anything for that matter than your opinion no longer, because beneficial.

Ram has far better long range capability than Mauga does and Mauga stomp is probably the weakest part of his kit you have to be so pin point with it to stun and do meaningful damage as for the ultimate it's more of a hindrance to Mauga than a benefit but my god is it fun and can be used in cool combos and unique ways

Now wheather they were good or bad I wont say. Bc imo apex has been in the shitter since season 14 and actively somehow gotten worse every season after. When you “ critiques” are used to encourage toxicity in the community, it kinda feels like your killing the game. So many support haters flame and press support players for not “being Op”. It just promotes negativity, so I just watch what I say when I’m talking about balance. Be specific when talking about issues and don’t generalize things like “Support op and tank is weak”.
To counter your could I kill elden ring argument it's a single player game with a multiplayer element by it's nature it's unkillable it's very different from a pure mulitplayer game where if enough content creators leave at once and their audience go with them you can in fact cause a cascade event and kill a game stone dead we have seen this happen

I mean TBF it's rarely the the fact that you're criticizing OW that people dislike and more your criticisms in general. And this isn't a Flats-specific issue, or even really a streamer issue. It's a playerbase issue. Most often, people don't really know the ins and outs of the game they're playing, but they might feel X, Y, or Z frustration about it, so all a streamer/CC has to do is say: "Hey, X, Y, and Z thing are bad" and given the size of their following, anywhere from 100k to 500k people who don't understand WHY they're agreeing with them, agree with them. Not the streamer/CC's fault, but it is a innate power they all have that I wish more were consciously aware of.

Talking about killing the game is interesting, because there's definetly a lot of people who have never played Fortnite because of the hate and stigma attached to it. Bow Fortnite is a massive IP, but I see a lot of people hate on OW as well without even playing it. Hate disguised as criticism definetly can hurt games, a lot.

I think Overwatch 2 needs more gamemodes since they bailed on pve. Do random 5v5 or both teams have the same 5 heroes then the next round, change those 5 heroes. Listen to the fan base and do COD map picking. Do something interesting! Just please stop promising things, we the players will not believe anything the devs say until we start seeing changes in game content.
