Hi, I'm so pleased you are finding the channel informative. That really is what I strive for the channel to be.
In regard to your question no as far as I know there is no upper limit to the number of sound of a particular type. I certain;y have 50-60 plus force.wav files on some of my fonts. Just a heads up, the xeno3 will play these files in a random order. This is a change from the Xenopixel V2 boards which played files in order. It does mean that some files may be repeated before you hear them all.
Hope this answers the question for you and that you again for supporting the channel by watching my videos.

hi Paul, great video again, think I will be ready to hit the ground running when my saber arrives (5 weeks now and still not dispatched 😢) but just quickly. I've found a list of all the preloaded sound fonts and the characters they represent spent ages converting so many characters voice lines and music files all to the correct wav 4411Hz mono format etc just wanted to know is there a limit for certain effects so for example "force" effects? I wanted to keep all the pre loaded force effects they will all be force (1) force (2) and so on, but I want to add voice quotes for alot of characters just wondering if the board will still read it if it goes beyond 9? so force (10) force (11) etc. Thanks for your videos they're always such a great help!

my saber arrived today! added all fixed melt files, customised all the fonts and added ksith LS6 fonts all files played first time, once again thanks for all your help I did notice on some music files it doesn't play the ignition or other sound effects when I turn it on, the blade comes on but no audio such as ignition blaster while the music was playing, but other music files in different fonts there's no issue it plays music aswell as ignition and blaster blocks unsure why that would happen?

I just got my first Xeno3 saber (The Highground), and when i changed out the default soundfonts to variations of Obi Wans, the saber wont recognize the new fonts. It acts as though the default fonts are on the sd card, even though they aren't.. on the saber and in the app.

Hi and thanks for taking a look at the channel.
The first advice I would always give to anyone with a new saber that is not working as expected is to talk to the vendor who sold you the saber about it and follow there advice in the first instance to avoid voiding your warranty.
I will also need ask a couple of questions before I can try and offer further real help.
Which Xeno3 do you have Base lit or Pixel?
Which sound fonts are you trying to add and are you certain they are Xeno3 formatted fonts?
Does your SD card also have a 'settings' folder as well as the font folders?
Which software version is your saber running?
Have you added the SD card yourself or did it come with the saber?
What size/capacity is the SD card you are using?
These may sound like silly or obvious questions but they all relate to difficulties I have run into before and will help clarify what may be going on.
It sounds as if the board is not reading the SD card and is defaulting to the 12 fonts which are held in onboard memory, but this could be happening for a number of reasons.
As I said at the beginning though if the saber is new you should really speak to whoever sold it to you and follow there advice to protect your warranty. I hope this helps.

@@DougGagnon Thank you, I think my help might be quite limited on this one as you seem to know what you are doing. Xenopixel V2 and Xeno 3 are completely different boards from one another although their file systems look similar.
      Things I can suggest:
As of software version 1.2.5 the blade settings for each font are no longer held in the config.ini file, so there really shouldn't be anything to edit in that file. The blade settings are now held in a fontconfig.ini file in each individual font folder as seen in this video. Under 1.2.5 these new fontconfig.ini files seem to be generated the first time you go to the font after installing it. You can then either access the file on the SD card to customise these settings or the much easier way is to use the app to adjust the blade settings. The only parameters in the fontconfig.ini file that cannot be altered in the app are ignition timing and retraction timing.
My only other suggestion is to download the Xeno3 default setting files and replace the ones on the SD card with these. I have had problems with corrupted setting files so this may resolve things fore you.
You might wish to ask on the FaceBook page as at least one of the software developers for nexus contributes there: facebook.com/groups/736905830991266
Again my best advice is to talk to the retailer who sold you the saber in th first instance.

Hey Paul! When you add a new sound font to the saber, would I have to copy one of the fontconfig files from another font and add it to the new one? I was stumped when I saw there was no list of them in the config, but now I understand why 😊

    • @paulsstuff1969
      @paulsstuff1969  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi, and thanks for taking a look at this video. I'm pleased it helped. For new fonts there is no need to add a copy of the fontconfig.ini file. After the font is installed a new fontconfig.ini file will be created in the font folder the first time you use the font. You can then easily set up the blade settings in the Xeno Configurator app. I hoe this answers your question.

@@michaelcarlton8439 Hi ignition and retraction times is the two parameter in the fontconfig.ini file that cannot be changed in the app currently, so those will require you to adjust them in the fontconfig.ini file. Everything else is changeable in the app. Colour has it's own section on the first page and things like hum effect and ignition can be set in the setting light effect sub menu in the font select section also on the first page. Hi and thanks for taking a look at this video. I am sorry you are having trouble with your saber.
I honestly don't know why the App would say version 1.4.6. I have rechecked on my sabers tonight and all (13) say that the latest software version for the saber is 1.2.5 and the latest App version is 1.5. I don't know what to recommend to resolve your difficulties as this is not something I have come across before. One group that has been very helpful for me is this one: facebook.com/groups/736905830991266

You may also find the Darkwolf Sabers Xeno3 support page helpful to, and all I can think to recommend is replacing the settings folder on your SD card with their standard Settings folder files. I need help! When I got my lightsaber, it originally functioned perfectly as expected of a Xenopixel v3, but just now when I used the Xeno Configuration app to update the software after I just learned about it, the button beeps no longer work as it originally did.
Before, I hold the button in 5 beeps to turn off motion control, and 6 beeps to change font. Now, I have to hold it 4 beeps to change the font, and there’s no more beeps to turn on or turn off motion control - I have to use the apps instead.
    What happened to my lightsaber?!

    • @paulsstuff1969
      @paulsstuff1969  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi and thanks for stopping by. I will try to help with this, but honestly I have never experienced a Xeno 3 board operating in the way that you describe yours originally did. All of my Xeno 3 boards (1 have 13) have always operated exactly as you describe yours operating now with 4 beeps to change to the next font and no further beeps after that.
The only thing I can think of is that perhaps yours had some sort of custom setup on it from wherever you bought it from, or that it had a really early (maybe even Beta) version of the firmware which was subsequently altered. Al I can confirm is that the behaviour your board shows now is perfectly normal for the current version of Xeno3 firmware.
You may be able to find out more by asking in this FaceBook group as I know some of the firmware developers hang out there: facebook.com/groups/736905830991266
Other than that all I can suggest is contacting the retailer the saber was purchased from to see if it is possible to get the firmware they use somehow.
Sorry I can't be more helpful on this one😒

@@paulsstuff1969 Alright, thanks for the advice. Also, after some consideration, I’m not entirely sure if mine is v3, but v2. Would it still be normal for v2 to only have 4 beeps? @@atlasprime6193 No problem. If it bleeps it is definitely a Xeno3 as the Xenopixel V2 does not have this facility. The video you linked to is for the Xeno3 base lit and the Xenopixel V2 was never available as a base lit version. When Xenopixel V2 was available Base lit sabers had a completely different board known as the RGBX. He references the RGBX in the video when he looks at the instruction sheet at the beginning.
If yours is a base lit version I seem to recall that when Xeno3 came out the base lit and pixel versions had different firmware updates from one another which had to be downloaded and added to the saber manually. But now that seems to have been harmonised into one firmware update which is used on both saber types. I expect this is so that the App works well with both base lit and pixel enabled boards. It also means that only one set of instructions need printing.
There is also now a facility to convert a pixel enabled board to base lit using an adapter which may also mean it is easier now for both types to use the same firmware.
You might find it helpful to check out the Dark Wolf Xeno 3 support page are there is lots of info there to including the latest manuals. It is my go to place for info on Xeno3 sabers as they help nexus with the development of the electronics. You can find the support page here: darkwolfsabers.com/xeno3-pixel-a-rgb-support

@@atlasprime6193 Yes, because he was sent a set of RGBX instructions with a Xeno3 base lit saber and they are radically different boards. There was never a base lit version of the xenopixel V2. Base lit sabers back then had RGBX boards because Xenopixel V2 was never able to do base lit.
The Xeno 3 can do both Base lit and Pixel but needs to be set up and wired differently for each.
The video was posted in June 2023 and a lot has changed on the Xeno3 boards since then as it has been updated several times.
I checked the latest manual for the Xeno3 and it says that a base lit Xeno 3 should behave exactly like you are saying yours does now, ie. 4 bleeps to change font. Things have definitely moved on since that video was filmed and I will probably need to be updating my own videos soon since my older ones (6 months old or more) may now be inaccurate.
