You should play the DLC. Takes place between Joel getting stabbed and Ellie getting him to the house. You should also do another play through for yourself and pay more attention to the characters you’re traveling with. You’re missing out on a ton of missable dialogue because of all the scavenging.
I'm a fully grown man with a career and a family. I've played this game a million times. I still lose it at this scene when he calls her "baby girl" just like he called his daughter. Gets me every time. So many layers to this scene
This is the section where we learn Ellie's real superpower - the foresight to use an actual knife rather than a random scrap of metal with some tape wrapped around it that will break after 3 uses. This knowledge seems to have been collectively forgotten at some point post-outbreak and Ellie is the only one who has rediscovered the wonders of the pocket knife
1:23:00 When Ellie said she had a dream about flying she would tell you the dream if you interacted with her so whenever she starts to talk be sure to go towards her and hit the Y button to continue the dialog.

Its about connecting with the characters, like the most common conversations the game gave it to you were all ignored rudely by you haha I'm not trying to offend you with these comments if its affected your perspective feelings about what I'm saying. If its that the case I'm really sorry. I'm just saying that its okay about wanting to explore your surroundings in the game and craft stuff, fight and shoot people and stay alive. But the characters are on the screen for a important reason and not just like a puppy following your character. Paying attention to them like in a obsessive stupid way without turning your camera off of them also is not "the way" to play. Just be yourself and naturally be your Joel or whatever character in a videogame you play as. Its okay if people dont like the playthrought as long you play the way you play. Also: sorry for the long comment but I am really glad and proud that another person is playing this amazing game and posting on TH-cam. And hope that you are having a good time with it as well. Its my favorite game like for a LOT of people too. I wonder if you know or if you're planning about the HBO Show here too.

"Why do they (the infected) sound like that?" Well, we don't know for sure, but to hazard a guess, it's because they're suffering a lot. Being an infected seems to suck pretty bad, and they're constantly vocalizing their discomfort and pain in Stage 1 before they learn to be more effective predators in Stages 2 - 4.
I told you the other day this game was a roller coaster of emotions but it never cross my mind you would sart crying like that in that scene with David and Ellie, i couldn't even hold my tears by watching you. Huh? It wasn't festering. There was no pus or inflammation that I could see. There's discoloration around the skin but I think that's a result of the binding and the cold weather rather than the wound. If he HADN'T been healing well up until then, he definitely wouldn't have gotten up.

The last of us part 1 had a memorable single player campaign and this is how a story driven game should be made. your content amazing and fun to watch, keep it coming.
One of the first times you have Joel use a bow. Kills a guy just in time for someone to see it. "I don't know what happened there." The man has an arrow sticking out of his throat (you can hear him choking on his blood) that's what happened there. I don't know how it got there, though. Maybe he tripped and fell on it.
I know you've finished both games, but I wanted to explain Ellie's dream you missed here since it actually informs Part II a little bit. Ellie tells Joel she has a dream of flying on a plane; she finds out there's no pilot, she tries to pilot the plane herself but doesn't know how. Then just before they crash into the ground, she wakes up. I think this elaborates on her fear of being alone - she believes that she doesn't know how to be in control of her own life. It informs her need to always latch on to someone, whether it's Riley, Joel or Dina. She always attaches hard to a person and makes that person her whole life. At the end of Part II, she is forced to be alone and confront that fear. One of the reasons I think the ending of Part II is hopeful is that Ellie had a chance to be alone and discover that she could survive and take care of herself without anyone's help. Not to mention making the decision to spare Abby. I kinda got away from the dream but I hope you could follow my train of thought. Ellie's character just goes very deep if you follow it. So many characters in this game are written to such a high standard.

@Prymbra Yeah, I realize that. I love watching your playthrough so far. I literally watch everyone's first playthough of both Part 1 and Part 2 because, for me, these games are the greatest story ever told in gaming. It's like playing a movie.

This may be a stupid question, but... Why are there people so scandalized about cannibalism? This is a post apocalyptic world in which people murder other people for survival. Why would the act of eating someone be morally worse than killing? For example, if it weren't for the fear of catching some virus or something, I would have eaten David.
I feel like this whole segment of the game justifies what Joel does in the end. After everything Ellie does for him here how could he possibly let it happen any other way.
This is the second youtuber that I have watched (out of two) that doesn't seem to understand that you can still use stealth mode with Ellie. If you sneak up on the bad guys and press the triangle she will kill them same as Joel. As long as nobody is around to see it none of the others will be alerted until/if they find the body. I take out two or three in the pet shop where you start easily.
Funny you say that while I was using stealth with Ellie for the most part of this episode when I got the chance to do so. I'll just list some examples for you: 02:36, 37:04, 59:48, 01:00:08, 01:01:55, 01:02:44, hell, the whole section with David is pure stealth as well. Very confused about this comment 🧐
