Hi Don. The razor looks great, beautifully designed. A major drawback is, that it clogs and needs to be opened to clear. Very bad. My guess is, that all your cuts are due to the Feather blade, not to the razor. But that's just my guess, since I don't know this razor. But I know Feather blades, it is a devil. I suggest you try to use a good pre-shave oil for the next shave with this razor and see if it helps.
Thanks, Patrick, I already did my followup shave which people had suggested. I used my Personna Blue and that will be released this Saturday. It's my final word on this razor,
I shall watch that video with great interest. I am sorry this razor is a disappointment for you. Well, these kind of things may happen with kickstarting products, where you are among the first to test it. On the other hand, if the product is good, you got it for an unbeatable price. Have a nice week, Don.
It's the feather blade. I have the same issue when using my q shave. As soon as I put in an astra I didn't cut myself as bad :). I'm still in the learning phases of using a safety blade got a sampler pack and still have a few others to try out.
@@MrDonXX I already am :) I thought that it was the Q shave that was the reason for so many cuts to my neck and also my neck had such bad razor burn. I wasn't a believer in blade preference before, because I figured a blade is a blade. Even after only 2 days of growth the cuts were minimal with the astra. The pack I got has the Derbys, Sharks, Gillette 7oclock, platiunum, Silver Blues and Feathers. Anyone want some free feathers?? LOL Any others you suggest if Astras so far are working for me? Thanks
Well, this was the first try in another video I tied again and got the same results. Then the owner got a hold of me and said they fixed the issues and sent me a new razor which you can see here - th-cam.com/video/Z8HTzhXmatE/w-d-xo.html
Excellent video Don. Clogging abd rinsing are very seldom discussed with razors but are just as important as cutting. I wonder if this is a problem with other modern adjustables? When I've been given Feather blades I just pass them on. For me as a daily shaver, they are just too harsh.
My thinking was to open the gap to see if I could wash the gunk out of the razor. The only way I could clean this was to open it up and doing that each time was the failure and why performance has a low score. Thanks for watching and see you next week.
Steven, things like this change all the time but right now I'm enjoying the Occam's Razor. This is a single edge razor using the Feather ProBlade. I have never had a more comfortable shave since I did my review on this. Other razors have come close but none have surpassed this razor so far... this is my opinion so remember your mileage may vary
Thanks for sharing your favorites. As for lubricant, I'm using a regular bath soap (Dalan brand, glycerin, it's around less than a dollar) which works but I may be missing out- I want to try the connoisseur way at least once w/ good pre shave, shave soaps or cream. I wish, like in the fountain pen community (I invite you all to this community- writing w/ the fountain pen is the smoothest- it's also connoisseur) What's your favorite preshave if you use that, shaving soap or cream (if you're into creams instead) & aftershave (or could you just use 99% alcohol which I have in hand and of course 70% isoprophyll as well)? I'll do my best to find them, in time for a nice shave when my GEM 1912 arrives (I'm still keepin my cartridge powered Pro Glide Fusion and DE, just in case SE is not for me). I wish shaving stores would adapt the fountain pen industry, whereby they have samplers of their ink (it's not free but it's affordable, so you can try before you commit to buying the whole ink bottle). I invite you to the fountain pen community- connoisseur of fine writing much like fine shaving we have here:-) If the shaving industry adopts this, it'd be easier to buy affordable different types of preshaves, cream or soap or aftershave (perhaps a sampler that's good for 1 shave so that it's cheap to try and buy. It'd be easier to combine things too). Thanks in advance.
Yeah, you may need to do a part two with a smoother blade and an increased gap. I wonder if a higher setting would be easier to rinse? I rarely use feathers in anything but a mild head and when I do, particular when I put one in an adjustable, I nearly always regret it :( Sorry about all the blood! I hope your next shave is tops. Have a good weekend!
In the video you see me telling the audience that I'm turning up the dial from 3 to 6 or 5 I think because I wanted to see about that same thing. Sadly, this did not help and that's when I pointed out what was going on. I'm doing a follow up with a Blade I always use (Personna Blue) then will see if it happens again
Donald Youngner yeah, upon further reflection, if a razor clogs badly then it’s a design flaw. You tend to use a fairly mild razor in the R89 Grande and don’t seem to have that problem with substantial growth. It’s a shame they had to kickstart it to produce a clog stick posing as a razor. I look forward to next installment!
Don, do another shave please, I used mine on setting 3 and a polsilver and it was brilliant. I'll use it with a feather as well as the feather is my favorite blade. Thanks for the review.
My one does not clog up and I don't open it to rinse it while having. After I finish and open it up, I don't see much gunk in there. The problem with mine is that the dial numbers don't align.
Kypos, that's a shame. they actually redid the dial since they said in one of the emails that it was giving them issues very sad to hear that. I'll trade you problems - lol
Hi Donald-Thank you for your review today; sorry it wasn’t better for you. The razor clogging while you are trying to rinse it between passes it ridiculous. I’m sure neither of us has either a vintage or modern razor that does that. If you’re game for a re-try, maybe only 2-3 days growth and a slighter milder blade to see what happens. Well, have a good weekend and all the best, Don! See you next week!
I have the QShave (the Futur clone) and i really like the performance, efficient and still comfortable. U just have to watch how u load the blade, sometimes it can be unequally aligned but resnapping the head on works for me. I get very close shaves with it on setting 2 to 2.5 and only go against the grain with all my DE razors. I dont see why to not always shave against the grain.
Thanks for watching, just by looking at how I shave does not allow you to know the way my beard grows so yes I do shave against the grain. I also only do one pass because additional passes are not necessary for me to get a close shave.
Hi Don. I think the clogging problem was due to the mild setting you had on the razor especially with the thicker soap. Also Feathers are extremely sharp. Super carefulness is always needed with Feathers. Give it another shot with maybe an Astra. It seems like a well made razor. Easy for me to say at this distance lol. Thanks for the video.
Brian, I did turn it up to 6 during the shave which I thought would help but that's when I announced the clogging. I'm going to try again and see what happens Thanks for watching see you next week
Don, the feather blade is the sharpest blade available and for your style of shaving(short quick buffing passes) a Razorock SLOC would work great with a feather blade and is very forgiving and gives a DFS>BBS- SLOC looks aggressive but is gentle & efficent(not sure how it would work on 1 weeks stubble). The Parthenon is more a daily shaver possible and looks stunning.
I have to say Ron its an amazing looking Razor one that I think is a pleasure to display. But.. I need to go back and give this one more try and then I'll report back with the finding.
I am also a personna blue guy and anytime I use a feather I end up with same results. Only way I don’t is if I take a lot of time and shave very slowly with a feather.
Well now you tell me - lol know I knew that feather is someone sharper and more deadly than other blade but I wanted to give it a try. Thanks for watching Steve see you next week.
If Freddie Krugar made razors... I have bought the V2.0 version. The clogging is fixed. Build quality is good but not great like the flawlessness of Muhle. It is an aggressive razor no mistake, but not a bad shave. I used it with an Astra. I find Astras a wee bit too aggressive and bitey anyway. But think paired with a Derby Extra it might work out quite nicely. It is good and heavy and the handle is grippy. It handles nicely and its easy to get the angle you want. The Parthenon does something different with the angle of the blade, meaning you really get the full feedback of the sharp edge on your skin. I found it aggressive on level 3 out of 9. But boy did it cut through those hairs! The smooth magic of Derby might be the right match. I'd like to retain the aggression the razor offers. I think rather than Parthenon v2.0, it could be renamed 'The Greek Dracula' :D
*_I think finding the right blade might be the answer to this razor for sure and yes the name change would well as well. Thanks for watching Al and your feedback_*
Hi Mr Youngner!!Having watched your video i noticed that in my humble opinion your particular shave was in a quite rushy style.. The Parthenon razor is a new adjustable model of Qshave...Having tried only the previous model I can't criticize it but the first factor (Much speed perhaps?) with a combination with aggressive blades the result unfortunately is something like this ..Good luck and congratulations for your presentation...
I understand your concern with my speed but I treat all new razors the same way the way I shave is the way I shave. If you have to alter the way shave so you can just use a product then who is in control you or the manufacturer
@@MrDonXX Great conclusion!!!Agree of course, just thought that in more aggressive razors perhaps we should be just little more careful .But after all your conclusion, just got the point!!!
I have the Qshave copy of the Merkur and I stopped using it. One side was more aggressive than the other, the alignment is not good. I dissembled and put it back together many times and when I adjust it one side rise up more than the other. Not a very good experience with the QSHAVE
I was considering purchasing either the QShave Parthenon which is made by Weishi, or the Weishi Nostalgic which is the same design with a different pattern on the handle and adjustment ring. Both are under $30 right now on Amazon. Clogging is not good and may cause me to reconsider purchasing either and stick to my collection of Gillette Adjustable Razors. Perhaps more frequent rinsing during the shave will reduce this tendency. As far as nicks, cuts and general irritation. It is all about user technique, not the blade. No offense meant sir, but you shave like a savage. Soften your beard, Slow down and use shorter lighter strokes. Apply more lather when you retouch resistant areas and you'll find yourself getting closer smoother shaves with less chance of skin damage.
the problems with this razor have been documented and verified by not only other TH-camrs but by the owner of the company. Which you can see here - tinyurl.com/y2btdue2 as it was pinned to the top of the comments. You will also see the 2.0 release of the fixed Parthenon that I did recently here th-cam.com/video/Z8HTzhXmatE/w-d-xo.html
Not a good outcome! I wonder if they had done any marketing research/testing on this before releasing it. Sorry to hear of your experience. Are you going to return it for a refund or wait and see if they make changes?
I'm going to give this one more try with my own blades that I use all the time and if it clogs during that shave then it goes in the trash or maybe I can hang it on the Christmas tree this year - lol
I was about to order one and saw your video. Phew glad I did not order one. If it does not get better get them to refund your money. This might be a one or two version revision until they get this right. But Weishi should have tested the clogging at least. Someone should have tried a shave on a heavy beard! Good luck with it and let us know what you decide.
The experience you have is obvious in all your videos and I wonder why there are some comments that criticize your technique, your lather, everything! This razor is a piece of crap, end of story! I have been wet shaving fot 15 years and it's clear from what I see that you know what you are doing with any razor you hold. Haters gonna hate. Why the keep watching your videos if they don't like them??
I have come across a few people doing this. It seems as you grow in popularity so do the criticisms of what your doing this goes for anything a TH-camr does. That being said sometimes the feedback is great and you're corrected over something you might have missed but other times its just mean and negative. If you say left they say right just to see what your reaction would be they seem to get a kick out of the response . Human nature of some I guess.
Honest review as always. Thanks for that, Don! I can really appreciate that. The Merkur Futur replica doesn't clog. That is inherent to the design I suppose. Although I can imagine you are hesitant to give it another go, I would suggest you do. I have had bad first experiences with new razors, soaps and blades as well but after getting to know the hardware or software it can make quite a big difference. Anyway, have a good one and all the best! Ronald
I had a bad experience with my Parker Variant for a while ( That was BEFORE I learned how to SHAVE) Now it is one of my very best razors... So i am sure Don knows how to shave ! Kit
DE Shave Talk with Kit I didn't imply that Don doesn't know how to shave. Like he said in the video: maybe his Personna Blue blades would have made it a different shave...
Don, I really felt for you mate having this shave. It was like pulling teeth out, only it was your whiskers and it was agony, bless you. I could be proven to be wholesomely wrong when you try this razor with a different blade. Somehow though, I don't think it's going to make a lot of difference. Or rather, I hope I'm proven wrong and the razor, at that price, turns out to be a bargain. I am increasingly getting disappointed by the adjustable TTO razors manufactured these days. They are ridiculously expensive (Ambassador Rex, comes to mind and still a glorified Merkur progress razor in my opinion and if the truth be told!). Or after months and years of delays (Rockwell model T comes to mind!), when the razor is available, it is still plagued by quite a few problems. Or it is something like the razor you tried here and it was no joy doing it. Seems it's no easy thing to produce a decent adjustable TTO. Gillette once upon a time could do it, for they had the experience and the deep pockets, and we are still using them and cherish them to this day. Still, it's a testament to your genuine UTube channel Don that we witness both good and bad shaves. And I know the former are many more than the latter. Cheers
With that much growth that razor should have been set higher at least a five or six that's why it clogged up if I do that with my Gillette it'll clog up
Wow I think you have the first review on that Parthenon Q-Shave Adjustable ! Yeah I have seen you use a much better razors.... I am very disappointed at this because I would love someone to come out with a Gillette old school that is as good as they were OMG Fail on the Razor ! So glad it was not my Fifty bucks!!!! Thanks Donald for your honest reviews. They are so helpful! You do not have an alum block or a steptic pencil ? Kit
Great honest review not for your style of shaving but ,it's seems not worth it to pay 49 bucks I think other Adjustable razors out there is much better for that kind a price point of view
Really disappointed for you I had higher hopes for this razor. I suspect the blocking issue is due to the small holes in the base, the pictures make them appear pretty small. I hope the skin problems (ingrown hairs and acne) don't materialise. Have a better weekend
Sean, So far I had just a little but it now under control I think it could have been a lot worse. I think I'll try again but I'm still on the fence if I do I'll post the follow up here.
Donald Youngner I would be interested in seeing how it performs with a blade that is tried and tested on your face that you know gives a good shave. As someone currently looking for an adjustable this was 9n my list along with a progress and variant. I have the Ming Shi but not a fan of the huge head getting under my huge nose lol.
*_not all blades work well on every razor so keep that in mind I found that out using them in Occam's Razor and to this day the feather ProGuard are the ones I use in that razor. It allows me to get a close shave without fear of irritation put them in something else I would kill myself - Thanks for watching_*
I got this razor three week ago, even on the setting 2, I still got cut..... I just feel very aggressive , and the cutting angle is weird, don't like it at all .....
Donald Youngner I shave twice a week and I don't have too many hair , so I don't have the issue yet . But I noticed that the razor does not have any place to let the shaved hair coming out , so I think if I have many days of grows , it may get clogged.
Hi Sattar, Thanks for watching my cuts and not due to the speed of the shave I have been shaving like this for the last 40 years it how I shave. The cuts come from the Feather blade and more so the razor which when you see my next video you'll understand what the problem really is. so I'll see you next week for the followup shaving.
To many short stokes for a feather can't use it like disposable long strokes and wash the razor more often before it clogs up try a derby blade first I would like to see another review of it with some changes feather blades bits every one lol
Michael, You're in luck this Saturday I do a followup to this review and use the Parthenon with a Peronna Blue blade the razor blade I use in all of my razors. You'll find out if we have any changes to performance see you then!
Thanks the bowl was a joint venture I became friends with Dominic and I gave him a shot at making a bowl for us. I will be contacting more artisans that do pottery and place more things for sale with them as time goes on.
give it another shave because feathers are notorious for cutting you if you shave with aggressive razor + you are buffing without any soap or at least wetting the face with water. Its unfortunate that the razor clogs so easy, they need to fix this issue
Shew! Great video Don. I knew this wasn't going to be good at all when I heard and saw "Feather" DE blades. And the fact that you had to open the razor to unclog it during a shave is a major turn off. Feather blades are the absolute worst blades you can use in my humble opinion. Dracula's favorite blade.
Well I guess I had to learn the hard way - lol I had high hope but people are asking me to try again and I think if I do I will not be using the feathers - lol Thanks for watching
Good and honest review. Too few of them out there. Seems like many of the big TH-cam shavers never give a bad review of a product even when It's obvious for the viewer. A de razor that clogs is a joke! Sorry for the losy razor, but good everyone get to know so we can avoid it. A cartridge would probably performed equal or better😉 Keep up the good work💪
I hate to say it but somebody needs to teach you how to shave with that much growth you cannot possibly do that many strokes and expect a razor not to get clogged. I would like to see you do another shave with it with two days or 3 days growth and don't do too many strokes and then see how the razor shaves you just not being fair to the razor
Obviously, you have mistaken me for someone who is 20 years old I'm 58 and know how to shave with growth like this. Please take a look at the other videos I've posted your commenting without knowing how I shave. Your judging how I shave on one video you've watched.
That sucks . Thank you for posing . I have a knock off merkur 34c . It looks and feels like the real thing . It was only $25 but what a waste of money . I can not get a good shave with it . I have tried different blades . I always get a few nicks and razor burn . It is garbage. I love my real 38c . I always get a great shave .
Welcome, SevenDeMagnus, if you have any questions or know of something that you want me to review let me know and I'll do my best to answer your questions or review the product. Have fun and welcome brother! to Wet the Face
If the razor clogs Don it ain't good at all. Without saying it's a good looking razor but what's the point opening the flaps to rinse it. Their merkur futur style razor is much better I reckon.
*_Yes, as the video shows the performance was 30% which is pretty much a loser but they did come back with a new 2.0 version so look for that video on the followup thanks for watching_*
Donald, it’s the Feather blades; in my opinion, they SUCK... bad. If someone has leather skin (which is gross) then Feathers may work fine, but they are too sharp for their own good. You seem to have softer facial skin, so I know how you feel. I wouldn’t cancel out the razor being a good razor. Definitely try another blade. The Persona is a good choice.
Maybe the music a little lower? I really wanted to hear your voice, razor feedback, and your input on the razor. It just seems like I'm struggling to hear you over the music. Just an FYI.
Did you expect anything else with a Feather blade?! Those are the sharpest blades in the world. And you were going with this razor like you were shaving with a disposable. NOBODY that I know gets through a shave with a Feather without cuts (including me).
Your sure right about that but the sad part was my followup video I used my Personna Blue blade and still had cuts because the dial to adjust the shave means NOTHING.
Donald Youngner Yeah... I just watched the followup video... I have the Futur clone from QShave (also have the original Merkur Futur) and it is a good razor with no clogging issues. I don't know what they changed in the edge design that this clogs so much but... Anyway, thanks for the review. I'll be sure to stay away from it.
Need to take ur time you were really throwing that razor about. As said. Before start on a high setting with the grain then reduce it down for the next 2 passes
Man how long have you been wet shaving? No offense but multiple passes over unprotected skin and those fast strokes! That’s way more blood than when I learned to shave with a straight razor!
Keith, I hear ya brother I shave fast but with this video, we had a look at this new razor and it was horrible. Since then I have received the updated one which I will be revisiting soon. As you can tell I'm not a young man so I have been shaving like the way I do for over 40 years so I know what I can and can't do. MY video is NOT TUTORIALS on how to shave nor do I say in any of them shave like me. That being said you MUST shave the way is most comfortable to you each face is different. I always do multiple passes with no other protection that when I first applied and I only do one pass. Take a look at the other videos you'll see I don't change my style its just the way I do things. If you notice I'm using one of my own shaving soap so I know it able to go over spots multiple times without the fear of irritation. www.wettheface.com
Hey Don entertaining content as always, but if I may chime in on your review. You really shouldn't tell people to pass on a razor just due to your first use and impressions. I get it first impressions are everything, but unfortunately not all razors are created equal. As for your shave I would've recommended starting on a higher setting rather than a 3. Go for beard reduction first then removal at least in terms of adjustable razors. Also yes I remember feathers are not your go to blades for shaving so that I understand. Back to the shave you should've did at least two passes rather than one as per usual with your videos. What I'm trying to say is give the razor a fair shake because you ultimately did a hardware review off of a one pass shave. Also on that gnarly cut on your neck that looked like user error rather than just razor remember every razor shaves differently. I am currently waiting on mine so I can do a review as well and I know you're doing another go on the razor as I have been reading the comment section. Lastly in terms of the clogging it MAY I repeat MAYBE that your lather may have been on the pastier side, but each to his own for lather. I'm not trying to be that guy I just really believe that you can achieve a great shave, but it will come in due time. Till the next shave Don cheers!
All good questions and concerns which is why it is unanimous that I give this one another try. what for it soon and thanks for your comments and watching see you next week for sure.
Feathers demand blood sacrifes. But in all seriousness you're going over areas that have no lather multiple times which will lead to nicks with a very aggressive blade. I understand you do one pass for the sake of video time but give it another try off camera with your go to blade
My shave and I have been shaving like this since I've been 18 is the way I've always done it. The feather blade I think is what caused the cuts since it been known to do that. I will be removing this factor in my next try and going back with person blue hen do another test.
Tu sei corretto Questo rasoio ha problemi con l'ostruzione e non ti dà una buona rasatura, per favore guarda il mio video di follow-up questo sabato e mi vedrai fare un altro tentativo. Sta bene e rivedici amico mio.
Don IF you try that Razor again which you are better man than I cause I would toss something that caught me like that but if you do Please slow down and if it cuts you again STOP! Kit
I have noticed that Feather blades tend to stick to my beard hair (clogs) and skin (cuts) far more than Personna Lab Blues. I would like to see you use this razor with the Lab Blues after you are recovered and if you are up to it. My extreme dislike of Feathers compels me to ask you that.
@@MrDonXX You have some deft hands, and it's obvious you got lots of skill. Us mere mortals would have to go to the hospital if we shaved like you. That being said I don't think the amount of content a person has on youtube means anything. Would you say that to Albert Einstein if he offered you lessons in physics? I know this is a year old, but just ignore the trolls.
Its not you - its the razor. Agree its junk. The razor doesn't deserve to be priced more than 10$ as with the Merkur clone they made. Crap design and the adjustable dial keeps getting stuck ! And what were they thinking when they decided to keep no slots for the lather ! Sorry to see a bad shave on your channel but I think your subscribers know if it's bad - it's the hardware !! Nice bowl and look forward to it announced on th g+ wtf channel
this lousy razor I could never use , the reason is that the adjustment niver works , it is also the same opening, so I gave the razor to a neighbour who has a very strong beard, again stupid engineer who designed this razor , he never checked if it really works , regards from mexico

Sometime being first isn't always the best thing - lol
Does it not have any lather channels to avoid cleaning it out so often?
No, Jill, sadly the design is flawed they are giving it another go and be testing that one in a month or two
It's the feather blade. I have the same issue when using my q shave. As soon as I put in an astra I didn't cut myself as bad :). I'm still in the learning phases of using a safety blade got a sampler pack and still have a few others to try out.

I wish shaving stores would adapt the fountain pen industry, whereby they have samplers of their ink (it's not free but it's affordable, so you can try before you commit to buying the whole ink bottle). I invite you to the fountain pen community- connoisseur of fine writing much like fine shaving we have here:-)
If the shaving industry adopts this, it'd be easier to buy affordable different types of preshaves, cream or soap or aftershave (perhaps a sampler that's good for 1 shave so that it's cheap to try and buy. It'd be easier to combine things too).
Thanks in advance.
great shaving Don,beautiful razor! Good weekend!

Yeah, you may need to do a part two with a smoother blade and an increased gap. I wonder if a higher setting would be easier to rinse? I can not use feather blades at all but that razor sucks! Kit
Don, do another shave please, I used mine on setting 3 and a polsilver and it was brilliant. I'll use it with a feather as well as the feather is my favorite blade. Thanks for the review.
I'll give it another try does yours clog up and do you have to open it to clean it out each time you need to rinse?
My one does not clog up and I don't open it to rinse it while having. After I finish and open it up, I don't see much gunk in there. The problem with mine is that the dial numbers don't align.
Kypos, that's a shame. they actually redid the dial since they said in one of the emails that it was giving them issues very sad to hear that. I'll trade you problems - lol
I was quite impressed by the soap you used!
The shaving soap called Wet the Face is my own brand that I make myself and its available in small batches on this site www.wettheface.com
I will follow up un this soon people are asking me to try again with a blade that I always use. Thanks for watching Mike
Certain blades goes well with certain razors, for this one try to lower the ajustment or change the razor blade. Let me Know!
Thanks for this honest review of the razor, let’s see with a less aggressive blade
Coming Soon Jonathan Thank's for watching
Thank you for directing me to your review of the improved version. V2 seems to be a great razor.
I just bought the Premium Edition black
Appropriate ranking
and what a shame it was thanks for watching
The Feather is a wicked blade. On a perfect day with perfect technique in a perfect razor, it's fine. Otherwise, well, you know.
understood
I hope you have a great weekend.
I have one coming I'll put it to the test
Sorry about the results of that new razor Don. If you try it again I’d use a mild blade like the Astra.
I will I'll be using a Personna Blue and see what happens I'll post the results here have a great weekend
I sure will
Thank you for an honest review. This looks like a razor that I will have to pass on.
Good Move Warren see you next week.
Yeah, I've seen people often here in Greece doing the same, just to disagree with something. It is day outside and they say night...
You Got it!
Just a song to recommend for your next video Don:
Flight - Tristam & Braken
th-cam.com/video/OVMuwa-HRCQ/w-d-xo.html
what do you think?
Honest review as always. Thanks for that, Don! I can really appreciate that. The Merkur Futur replica doesn't clog. That is inherent to the design I suppose.
Although I can imagine you are hesitant to give it another go, I would suggest you do. I have had bad first experiences with new razors, soaps and blades as well but after getting to know the hardware or software it can make quite a big difference.
Anyway, have a good one and all the best! Ronald
Hi Ronald, I really do want to try again and maybe I'll do a followup video as well. thanks for watching and have a great weekend
I am sorry I know you were not saying that Don didn't know how to shave and of course a different blade might make a difference ! Kit
Thanks for watching and the kind words see you next week
Cheers
Thanks for caring and watching. I'll be giving the Parthenon one more try this Saturday with my blade inside lets see how it performs. See you then!
With that much growth that razor should have been set higher at least a five or six that's why it clogged up if I do that with my Gillette it'll clog up
If you saw in the video I did turn the dial to 5 or 6 as you stated I didn't comment on why until a min later
Kit
OH yes I do I was placing it on my face it had crumbled into a powder so that's what I was placing on my face.
Great honest review not for your style of shaving but ,it's seems not worth it to pay 49 bucks I think other Adjustable razors out there is much better for that kind a price point of view
Nate, I will be trying this again so I'll post an update when available.
i am no expert i would try another blade,Feathers are quite good but i would use another brand until you are used to the razor!
I already had my second shave with this Razor using my Personna Blue Blade that I always use I will post video Next week with the results.
Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!!
You Know It! - lol
Sean this razor is a word is massive but I'm going to followup with a new video soon
I hate feathers blades - Derby and TREET for me... I know Feathers are loved by many but I’ve never had a nice shave from Feather.
Does yours clog? just wondering thanks for watching
Donald Youngner I shave twice a week and I don't have too many hair , so I don't have the issue yet . But I noticed that the razor does not have any place to let the shaved hair coming out , so I think if I have many days of grows , it may get clogged.
Your cuts due to fast shaving , take your time and add some water to your lather ( wet shave ) 👌
Damn Don. Sorry about that shave/razor. I love that bowl though!
Totally agree and I will do another shave with my own brand next time
Yeah I would give it another shot with your usual "go to" blade.
Good and honest review. Too few of them out there. Seems like many of the big TH-cam shavers never give a bad review of a product even when It's obvious for the viewer.
A de razor that clogs is a joke!
Sorry for the losy razor, but good everyone get to know so we can avoid it. A cartridge would probably performed equal or better😉
Keep up the good work💪
Thanks Johnny for watching and for the kind words
I hate to say it but somebody needs to teach you how to shave with that much growth you cannot possibly do that many strokes and expect a razor not to get clogged. I would like to see you do another shave with it with two days or 3 days growth and don't do too many strokes and then see how the razor shaves you just not being fair to the razor
Obviously, you have mistaken me for someone who is 20 years old I'm 58 and know how to shave with growth like this. Please take a look at the other videos I've posted your commenting without knowing how I shave. Your judging how I shave on one video you've watched.
I think you are right Gregory
Take a look at the followup video and read the pinned message from the owner
That sucks . Thank you for posing . I have a knock off merkur 34c . It looks and feels like the real thing . It was only $25 but what a waste of money . I can not get a good shave with it . I have tried different blades . I always get a few nicks and razor burn . It is garbage. I love my real 38c . I always get a great shave .
Thanks for watching Dev Sometimes your lucky with knockoffs others, well, not so much.
Yes . I saw your Q shaver video . I would get one of those . Wow . And they are so cheap .
New subscriber here.
@@MrDonXX I saw after thanks
I like my Q-Shave Adjustable but I will pass on this one, too many bad reviews on it. Rather my next razor is the Karve Christopher Bradley.
Hi, Jill nice to see you again. Hooe all is well yes pass this one by is a good idea. Thanks for watching see you next week
TONE Scott, Thanks for watching see the followup this week with the Personna Blue Blades
For future reference the music in the background is annoying
Ok John do prefer just no music at all or just at the beginning is it too loud not your kind of music give me more than its annoying
Maybe the music a little lower? I really wanted to hear your voice, razor feedback, and your input on the razor. It just seems like I'm struggling to hear you over the music. Just an FYI.
I was going to purchase the razor but I think I may hold off.
I wasn't trying to be nasty.
Thanks, John Great feedback I will adjust it for the upcoming videos and let me know if it works.
I ordered one as well so we'll see
But again I'm a sucker for adjustables
Me too and slants
Feathers demand blood sacrifes. But in all seriousness you're going over areas that have no lather multiple times which will lead to nicks with a very aggressive blade. I understand you do one pass for the sake of video time but give it another try off camera with your go to blade
My shave and I have been shaving like this since I've been 18 is the way I've always done it. The feather blade I think is what caused the cuts since it been known to do that. I will be removing this factor in my next try and going back with person blue hen do another test.
While the Qshave adjustable is excellent this one looks crap! Cloggs up?! Unbelievable!
And it's not cheap I see!
It clogged because there are no laser channels for the soap and whiskers to escape. Bad design.
shaving very quick. more time to bleed after lolz
You got that right!
Sta bene e rivedici amico mio.
Donald Youngner ok dopo lo guardo
Don IF you try that Razor again which you are better man than I cause I would toss something that caught me like that but if you do Please slow down and if it cuts you again STOP! Kit
I'm going to try Gin but this time with the blade I prefer (Personna Blue) then I'll post the results
A theme and variation on a theme and variation on a theme and variation....
I'm sorry, do you want me to make a change to my format? Please let me know what you would chnage always open to a conversation.
I clicked on your video and I got a Wes Craven tribute. QShave 2 sequel was not as inspiring as the first. The ticket price went up too.
David, Couldn't have said it better myself Thanks for watching see you next week
I will follow up with just that I want to give this a fair chance to redeem itself.
I think the blade is more responsible for the bloodbath but the razor is pathetic aswell. You have 49 more to go😁
Agreed
Big PASS on this one.
[x] You should learn to shave with a DE Razor.
Could you teach me please how many years have you been shaving? for me, it's been 40 years
I also looked to see about your channel it said you don;t have any content I think that speaks for itself.
Blood hell man blood for it not good hahaha
It’s a blood bath buddy! Not very often we see blood on this channel!
It was a horrible experience not only because I got cut often but the performance of the new razor was very disappointing. Thanks for watching
Thanks, Manish for the kind words and hope you have a great weekend
You sure use a lot of soap
Yup, I do it that way all the time. I always say don't copy me do it the way you would. Thanks for watching
this lousy razor I could never use , the reason is that the adjustment niver works , it is also the same opening, so I gave the razor to a neighbour who has a very strong beard, again stupid engineer who designed this razor , he never checked if it really works , regards from mexico
