My man here trying to help people who value their time out while some elitists think it's an L move. Bro, we've all been playing the game for at least 5 years. Freelancer is a breath of fresh air and all, but we can't spend 50 hours grinding Merces.
This guy gets it… I have been playing hitman 3 since release I play base game Master with No Loadout all the time have tons of videos on this… I like freelancer but the weapons are way over priced for basically 1 time use … Especially when you dont even bring them on a mission and lose your ENTIRE safehouse inventory for failing a mission thats straight dumb and needs to be adjusted 100%. Losing items/weapons you carry with you totally agree should lose them but losing all your items from the safehouse for failing a missing is dumb and makes no sense at all … If the weapons were reasonably priced to take that into account like some of the items are 500 mercers the low ends should be 200 up to 500 for good ones that is reasonable considering they can be lost at anytime…. But spending 30,000 to 40,000 on a collector gun to have it wiped then having to spend 50 hours to earn it again to just lose it again cause some rando NPC saw you do something from the 2nd story of a building through the crack of a door is dumb just dumb.
@@mattskx facts, they need to adjust the trigger ranges for NPCs catching you doing illegal activities especially while in foliage. they also need to tweak some mission objectives because they sometimes force you to choose one over the other and i know you cant fail a single one of these in hardcore
Exactly those of us that have been playing not only since release but HM1 and HM2 know the crazy BS eagle eye these NPCs have … They even see bodies concealed in foil-age as you mentioned from time to time … I also mentioned exactly what you said the prestige objective often conflicts with regular objectives making it impossible to do all of them and is an auto fail on hardcore… Example objectives say no firearms then prestige objectives says kill with smg, assault rifle or sniper making it impossible and the timed ones are a joke and beyond annoying i literally had 60 seconds to find and kill a target unnoticed on morraco which can be basically impossible . I actually like freelancer and agree with the majority of it but the lose everything in the safehouse because of a mission failure it makes no sense . They say its about stocking useful items so we can strategically pick the items to use considering we have a gear cap as well. But we cant do that when 1 failure wipes the safehouse. Why even have a safehouse item storage when it does this BS? Might as well not even have it and force us to just buy weapons for 1 time use during a mission which id be ok with if they were reasonably priced compared to the next to nothing merces you earn per mission aside from a few exceptions (new york is probably the best) This mode feels rushed and not thought out reasonably its like they dont play their own game.
@@mattskx io interactive does everything %95 right but messes up that %5 so bad that it takes them years to fix. I've been a fan since 2004 and been playing since 2009. The philosophy behind Freelancer and even the execution is amazing, but the fact that they have to cater to everyone's taste is what's making us feel sorry. I was steaming a syndicate mission for my friend a few hours ago and I constantly told him that if anything goes wrong, I'd immediately Alt + F4 the game. Everything was going perfect in Isle of Sgail until the very last second when a hawk-eyed NPC saw me kill the last syndicate member. I was so done with the mission that I decided to just exit then and there. I wasn't wounded at all, so I didn't lose anything. Even this is considered counterintuitive to me since I always SA any mission that I start in Hitman games. These stupid, 10 minute fixes are anything but difficult for the devs.
lol I have the same mindset its SA or SASO for me usually or nothing I hate exiting the mission anything less but SA doesn’t even exist in freelancer from what im seeing I think its something like Silent Clean Ica Assassin? So sometimes even if I dont get the SA if I completed all the objectives im outta there even if im seen as dont want to waste the time it took to perfect all objectives and the prestige again… Another annoyance is the next to NOTHING XP you get in freelancer considering theres 100 things to unlock theres basically 2 things you can get XP for and its usually only on the showdown missions… Taking out a lookout and taking out an assassin but its so low like 250XP its not even worth it… Not to mention assassins are OP and can 1-2 shot kill you lol I mean they are assassins so that I can understand at-least that makes sense .
@@IrrationalDelusion It eliminates the risk of losing mercers from a mission you knew had iffy odds of success. It doesn't eliminate the risk of not having mercers when you need them to buy something you actually want.
Still works btw (PS5). If you want to save 15 minutes of your life though, here ya go. If you win money, enter a mission and dashboard and close your app and it will save your mercers. If you lose money, dashboard immediately inside the vault and your mercers before gambling will return.
Yeah, it's Sept 2024 now and I'm trying this on PC, Steam specifically. Not seeing much difference between trying to hit a dip vs just running in and hitting the button. Ironically, after starting to just run in and hit the prompt, I got a long string of successes so that's funny. However, obviously the real trick is the ability we have to decide to keep the wins (saving) and just make the losses disappear (not saving). So that's fun :)
Another quick way to leave a mission without loosing money in items is to go to your network settings on your console in disconnect your internet in turn it back on. Then when you go back to the game it will give you a option to retry in connect or go back to the main menu. Go back to the main menu then go back online in load freelancer again. It might be a little quicker than closing the game itself
Just spent around 30 minutes doing this and it works. Each time I got merces, it was consistent at the 3.5k to 4k mark. Lost a few times, but the amount I got in that 30 minutes was worth it! Thanks for showing this, liked and subbed!!
Thanks for the info! I've always goto New York vault, picked up the mercer coins, and pulled the server out. Most I've gotten was 12k just from that. I'll have to do this now.
You get financial comfort in a reasonable time just by choosing the right missions as well as knocking people with merces on them as well as the loot boxes contain merces in some cases. New York Vault area is full of Merces, you get to the vault and clean it, you'll get a few grand, for example, its slower than stock market obviously but more fun, and you learn as well.
I usually quit the game with alt+F4, because its faster. So what I started doing is, before I quit the game, I give the stock market a go and then save and quit or alt+F4 depending on if I win.
i triggered it somewhere else and i'm pretty constant too (but i won less). One precision. I suppose the timer is consistent after have launched the game. If you try after a mission, the setup is no more viable.
I'm pretty sure when you check the market doesn't really matter, and the whole "betting on the dip" thing is just confirmation bias. Still good to know you can basically abuse this since it saves your Merces count only on mission start.
I’v been trying for a while, doesn’t seem to matter. Even on the dip I once lost everything..... it’s more like rolling dice sometimes you win (most I got was just under 10k), sometimes you lose....🤷🏻♂️
I'm doing this mainly because I want all the pistols. I already have most, and 2/3 legendary just from playing normally and beating the entire campaign 3 times but this should speed it up
This only works about 10% of the time for me. However, this video was posted a month ago, and the exploit could have been patched on the PC version. The saving technique works perfectly, the market graph means nothing, though.
The market graph dont mean shit, buuut if you crash the market in New York and then come back to the safe house and bet some on the stock market then you have a garunteed max win

Use instinct vision, there’s 1 bar that comes up gold…..I’m pretty sure that’s a 100% on getting money instead of losing it. I haven’t tried this back to back tho.

THANKS. The moment I lost all collectors tools I wanted to cheat, because there's no point grinding and spending 30,000 on a lockpick, 40,00 on a dart gun that disappears just as quick as the common shiv, even if I don't bring them on a mission??? It's borked, so alt f4 for me and no regrets.

I tried playing the stock market while wearing The Black Dragon suit (Deluxe) and with the flight being booked, I have won more times consecutively in that way. If you return to the safe house (after winning) and the option "Play the stock market" doesn't appear, book a flight and it will appear.
I dont plan to abuse this, but im totally gonna use it to help prop up the start of a run. Its such agony when a mission set i pick has no vaults and only 3 couriers to rob across all maps...
wait... if you win merces, you quit to save the game. And then you load up freelancer again and try the stock market. If you lose, you close the application without saving and the process continues. I think that's easier than starting the mission plus it reduces time taken to load
As far as the stock market goes if you make a trade and you lose money just quit the game you'll get your money back it don't press start an exit I mean quit same thing when you're on a mission if you get into a gunfight that you think you can't win just quit the game you get to keep all your stuff and try again
Bad news I think IO saw this as a glitch and apparently fixed it in an off-the-charts no-download-is-necessary update. I now lose everytime I try this.
If you loose mercers doing this, then quit the game (NOT exit to menu) and start it again. Since you haven’t started a new mission yet, the money you lost will now be back :-)
At the rate of doing this you are better off just grinding missions lol, and you'll have more fun. Just make sure to pick syndicates with New York so you can raid the safe. That's an easy 8-13k extra.
I haven’t seen this on any yt things before but every time I fail a mission in free lancer since it came out I’ve just left before I die(usually what it comes to) and I just hard quit the game and it sends me to the safe house with all my stuff
Yeah true thats the one draw back of freelancher the losing what you were carrying makes 100% sense but losing everything in the safe house aside from guns makes no sense hopefully they change that.
Yup, on PS, when shit hits the fan and you think you can't get out of it without failing. Pause the game and then just close the application in the quick menu. Restart and try the mission again. But once it says 'mission failed' on the screen. That will not work anymore.

I know I might be sounding new even though i played hitman contracts and 2 since I was a kid and every other single game. But how do get that outfit with the dark glasses is it an elusive target or through challenges?
Where the hell u get shades on the suit from? 🤔 Bout to test this out ive won 3 times back to back but it only happened 1 time each earning less money.
Its a newer challenge added to Mendoza called Brother from another Brother basically you have to pacify or eliminate the sniper guys in the tower position they are at and then from that spot sniper both Don Yates and Tamara Vidal thats it then you get the awesome suit.
just tested this out it works. only thing is you cant quit to menu because although you will retain the money you can't buy stocks again. this way is the only way to do it so far
Because it does not save the stock market change … 1 thing I did test you could win the stock market then just pause and exit to main menu and it should save the winnings then try again … Long as you keep winning you can keep playing… My original testing starting a mission was the only way to get it to save the change and start again ill test it.
I dont know if this comment section is still very active, but I didnt know where else to post my question (if you know better places, let me know). I currently am mastery 40 in freelancer, around that, maybe 41 or 42. Recently I encountered a problem with bringing back sniper rifles from missions into the safehouse. When used in the mission and left behind the weapon is lost, thats clear. But I played two maps where I definitely took the sniper with me when exiting (one time on my back and once in a briefcase in my hand) and both times the weapon was no where to be found when getting back from the mission. This accured in a normal mission the first time around and in a showdown mission the second time. So its not even bound to the mission. My chosen transportations of the sniper e.g. once on the back and once in a briefcase work on literally every single other item/weapon in the game and never was a problem until then. I could ignore the loss of the second sniper, it was a basic blue sniper for like 17-20k which isnt that much anymore, so I wouldnt care, but the first sniper was the white arctic epic rifle (dont know the exact name) which is worth substentially more and isnt a loss taken lightly by me. I have almost every item in the game and I can for sure play on without them but it is a tedious task to farm back the merces and find a dealer who sells it, just to get a weapon back, thats literally ALREADY MINE. This just made me hate missions where snipers are requirred and I now regularry skip extra requirements involving snipers and skip on the extra merces and experience to just keep my damn weapons. I tested it multiple other times and it seems to only be a problem once in a while as the other tests went fine with me normally retrieving my weapon. Maybe it has something to do with the maps, the normal mission was Paris (sniper in briefcase in my hand) and the showdown was Mendoza (sniper on my back). Would love to hear some advice or in general if somebody else encountered these problems of if I am alone with this situation. If you read through all of this, thank you dearly my fellow Hitman, may the gods of IO shine upon you.
Unfortunately this mode is bugged but the IOI fanboys will simply just tell you your doing something wrong when you are not. I have lost multiple collectors items when not even taken on missions and failing a mission which also should not happen. You are doing the exact right thing and long as the sniper is on your back , in your hand, or concealed in a suitcase you are holding when you exit the board it should carry back to your safe house so nothing you can do to stop this aside from not using that sniper rifle and just buy 1 cheap one off the supplier and use it for now then discard it before leaving the level so you can buy it again if needed )this is a crap workaround that wastes mercers but nothing else can be done) So its bugged hopefully they fix all these bugs around weapons/items not returning or disappearing from our safe-house. (What makes it worse is not everyone experiences these bugs so not sure what is the common factor between the people that do but IOI needs to figure it out and fix them.
the second time (the showdown 1) i can explain but the other 1 idk. basicly if u complete a showdown u get the reward crate video sequence where diana praise you work. in that case the game clears your inventar and putt everything back on the wall. so it looks like u lost it but for real its on your wall so u didnt lost it, i was shocked the first few showdowns aswell till i realzed whats going on. btw if u dont wanna bother putting stuff back on the wall just drop it in the safehouse the game putt it on the wall automaticly
@@undertaker8187 i see your explanation, but its not applicable in that case. it wasnt my first successful campagne, third or fourth overall meaning i knew the deal with how the game handles beating showdown missions. i looked and the weapon wasnt to be found on my wall of weapons. not in my inventory, not in my hand, on my back or anywhere else. normally it just puts it automatically back on the wall you are right about that but that paticular time the mechanic somewhat broke and just deleted my weapon. still appreciate your time and explanation mate
Since some people are disagreeing with each other in the comments, I decided to deliberately blow myself up to see what happens. I lost everything that I brought into the mission, which was a bomb, and half of my Merces. All of my safehouse items, even the Freelancer tools, were still there and I lost the only Freelancer item that I used in the mission. I wasn't playing a hardcore campaign. I'll try that once I finish my second campaign.
Were the freelancer tools ranked with either rare, epic or legendary? I wasn't quick enough to close the application when I got taken out by an assassin. Lost the half merces and items/weapons I brought, but also lost all tools that were in the briefcases in the safehouse. If I remember correct they were all "common" ones. I believe I read in their patch notes that any weapons/items/tools that are rare/epic/legendary would now no longer be lost if you fail. Whereas during the closed technical test you lost everything. Again though, can't confirm and kind of don't want to test it out now after getting most of it all back! Lol
Once you've reached the later mastery levels, starting from 60 to 70-ish, Merces don't mean anything anymore. You'll be hogging hundreds of thousands of them, maybe even a million, and nowhere to spend them on.
That's just your experience. Mastery levels and unlock progress are not coupled. If you keep losing missions and losing campaigns then there's no reason you'll necessarily accumulate money (or even equipment) over time. But you will ALWAYS accumulate XP -> mastery levels over time.
Focus on completing challenges and you will always have tons of mercers. Always play steathily even if you are not going for SA. Taking people out without witnesses is always preferable and avoids having shoot outs which is almost a guaranteed lose. I pick the contracts with poisoning targets/guards or using specific weapons and as long as you focus on completing the challenges you can end a mission with 7k regularly i always have enough mercers to buy back my equipment now. When i first played it i didnt focus on the challenges so i was always poor.
This is good advice but the problem becomes when some of the objectives and prestige objective conflict with each other. example Objective says no ranged weapons and prestige says kill will pistol, shotgun, sniper, etc… Some of the prestige objectives can be near impossible considering the map like a timed kill in say morracco where you can get 60seconds to eliminate a target not enough time to do that unnoticed…The hide in crates to reset timers is another dumb BS prestige objective along with the Switch disguises to reset timers and can only use any disguise 1 time what are we an assassin or a lame quick change magician they could have come up with some original prestige objectives instead of these lame recycled ones from the contracts mode. Honestly this mode is nothing more then a bunch of contracts strung lazily together to make it seem like something new when really the only unique thing is the showdown missions which are still glorified contracts… Would have much preferred new maps and targets… Safe house is cool but could have done so much more like when you fail a mission instead of losing stuff your safehouse is compromised and you have to defend it from the syndicate you attacked and if you lose that then you lose everything … This mode is a missed opportunity on so many levels in my opinion.
@@mattskx yeah sometimes you can’t do them all, hopefully they improve it so that never happens. I always go for the hide and seek prestige if it’s available as it’s an easy 3k, what you can do is plan how you’re going to take the target out while resetting the timer 2:30 is a good amount of time considering you can constantly reset. The other timed prestiges are harder, for me anyway so i avoid them. Explosion kills and collateral weapon kills are easy as with explosion you can literally just chuck a bomb at them or if you have a remote duck they will pick it up if you distract them with it and then can detonate as you leave the level. With collateral kills i take a shotgun and pacify the target and a guard or civillian and place them next to eachother before i shoot. Occasionally i’ll go for silent assassin but always avoid sa/so as there’s too much luck involved you have no idea where the target is going to be so it could be easy or insanely hard without a disguise.
@@mattskx As someone who played every hitman and waited diligently for this mode. I completely agree, it's still fun but I just completed the campaign, it was satisfying but still anti climactic. I agree about your thoughts on the mode; it's much harder to get money, just playing, the game: than the beta. The prestige is bs and I just mostly play without them, which completely rules out hardcore mode for me. I'm Master SOSA player mostly but the fact you have to do the bs objectives and lose all your freelancer tools seems a trash way to keep interest.

Ngl I prefer just having to use what I have and can afford with the money I've gotten from missions to run in freelancer. You'll be spending just as much time grinding money like this as you do your campaign instead of just... well, doing the campaign. It's up to preference ig but I thought I'd chip my opinion in.
y it definitely doesn't work every time, as i finished the mission, timed it so i hit it when the lines are "red" on the screen, and still lost 1.3k or smth around that, small amount doesn't matter.
LMAO! Bro I close the application when I’m on the verge of dying with my best gear or when a briefcase gets stuck in an area I can’t reach. It’s clutch. Sometimes I cheat the game, but the instances where a briefcase gets stuck, the game cheats me.

@@mattskx totally agree and I would also add that ripping half the merces when you fail is just insult to injury, salt on the wound, wish it would change too. If they changed that, so you don't lose money when failing (or as much), I'd be totally okay with losing all tools, because I'd have money to buy back. But losing the tools, and not having money to buy back is just the opposite of a good time.
Dam I literally lose 14k then...I just thought you "play" put all you money in and at some point you "win" get money back..11k first time and 3k next time..took all of it🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Much Much faster than playing an entire mission and trying to perfect all objectives and the prestige objective for 1/4 of the merces you can get from the stock market. Unless your Frote7 and can do all of this on every syndicate mission in under 2 mins then yeah it would be slower lol
lol I was thinking of that pretty awesome… Im a decent player nowhere near their level but I have numerous master level plays done with No Loadout… I love playing no load out and using only whats on the board while also getting SASO i shoot for under 20mins i know thats considered slow lol but for me master no loadout SASO in unique ways under 20 pretty good ive also shown some really unique cool ways to take targets down ive never seen 👍 I honestly love this game ive bought every piece of content available 👍
Where you see the green start to drop from its very highest, you'll see a small spike in it again just before it drops to 2 reds. On that small spike (highest point of it), then hold triangle/Y and it should check the stock right as it gets to the 2 reds. If timed right, you should get merces.
The stock market screen is still pretty confusing, I don't know why IOI choose to represent positive value with these downward red lines, my best guess is that they wanted to confuse players so as not to make it so simple. But then, why would the whole screen turn red when you lose? Nothing really seem to make a lot of sense, it's probably randomized anyway.
Ya it does t matter when you sell your stocks with the grid its just a coin flip if you win or lose But ya the selling on low if the screen did matter that should lose your money lol Kinda bummed there isn't a little bit more to this like a real stock market where you can bet if random companies from hitman universe Maybe even have it effected by what map you play and if you kill an npc tied to that brand makes the stock tank
Uhh im 90 percent sure this is patched there is an unatural dip everytime i restart i lose money i have restarted over 15 times now and ive tried different points but I can make a little cash after i have played through a mission and alt f4 on pc now works as of the new patch
I tried it an hour ago, the way you said, and lost over 5k lol Then i tried it again and gained over 6k lol i kept trying, but i lost three times in a row. So maybe they patched something...?
Nah its not patched its just not 100% to get it …. For me just have to try hitting the DIP either earlier or little later but I can hit pretty regularly this is most consistent way I found you will still lose sometimes but shouldnt lose more than you win if your hitting it right.
I’m gonna dip deez nuts in hot lava if this game doesn’t stop being so relentless. I’ve got to say Freelancer is the greatest thing since Blood Money, I came back to hitman after big Payday 3 disappointment to find it has an extraction mode and nearly creamed. The difficulty is so much more fun and feels more repeatable
THIS IS BS. The strategy doesn't work. The stock market result is completely random. There are four options randomly selected - "Small Win", "Big Win", "Small Loss" and "Big Loss". They each randomise a number from an appropriate minimum to an appropriate maximum. The stock market graph you see is purely an animation. It's independent of what you earn and there is no logic for checking where the animation is (the graph is a waveform generator whose output is not passed into the sub-entity that handles Merces gain). If this trick would have been worked for you then you won't be sitting at 31K Merces.

Even this is considered counterintuitive to me since I always SA any mission that I start in Hitman games.
These stupid, 10 minute fixes are anything but difficult for the devs.
lol I have the same mindset its SA or SASO for me usually or nothing I hate exiting the mission anything less but SA doesn’t even exist in freelancer from what im seeing I think its something like Silent Clean Ica Assassin?
So sometimes even if I dont get the SA if I completed all the objectives im outta there even if im seen as dont want to waste the time it took to perfect all objectives and the prestige again…
Another annoyance is the next to NOTHING XP you get in freelancer considering theres 100 things to unlock theres basically 2 things you can get XP for and its usually only on the showdown missions… Taking out a lookout and taking out an assassin but its so low like 250XP its not even worth it… Not to mention assassins are OP and can 1-2 shot kill you lol I mean they are assassins so that I can understand at-least that makes sense .

Still works btw (PS5). If you want to save 15 minutes of your life though, here ya go. If you win money, enter a mission and dashboard and close your app and it will save your mercers. If you lose money, dashboard immediately inside the vault and your mercers before gambling will return.

Yeah, it's Sept 2024 now and I'm trying this on PC, Steam specifically.
Not seeing much difference between trying to hit a dip vs just running in and hitting the button. Ironically, after starting to just run in and hit the prompt, I got a long string of successes so that's funny.
However, obviously the real trick is the ability we have to decide to keep the wins (saving) and just make the losses disappear (not saving). So that's fun :)
Another quick way to leave a mission without loosing money in items is to go to your network settings on your console in disconnect your internet in turn it back on. Then when you go back to the game it will give you a option to retry in connect or go back to the main menu. Go back to the main menu then go back online in load freelancer again. It might be a little quicker than closing the game itself

Just spent around 30 minutes doing this and it works. Each time I got merces, it was consistent at the 3.5k to 4k mark. Lost a few times, but the amount I got in that 30 minutes was worth it! Thanks for showing this, liked and subbed!!
Thanks for the info! I've always goto New York vault, picked up the mercer coins, and pulled the server out. Most I've gotten was 12k just from that. I'll have to do this now.
You get financial comfort in a reasonable time just by choosing the right missions as well as knocking people with merces on them as well as the loot boxes contain merces in some cases.
New York Vault area is full of Merces, you get to the vault and clean it, you'll get a few grand, for example, its slower than stock market obviously but more fun, and you learn as well.
I didn't realize what it shows on the screen in the vault actually means anything, that's really helpful.

I usually quit the game with alt+F4, because its faster. So what I started doing is, before I quit the game, I give the stock market a go and then save and quit or alt+F4 depending on if I win.

i triggered it somewhere else and i'm pretty constant too (but i won less). One precision. I suppose the timer is consistent after have launched the game. If you try after a mission, the setup is no more viable.
If you’re on pc do not press alt+f4 as it’ll be the same as the regular exit out of the game. Use task manager to close the game and keep everything

I'm pretty sure when you check the market doesn't really matter, and the whole "betting on the dip" thing is just confirmation bias. Still good to know you can basically abuse this since it saves your Merces count only on mission start.
I’v been trying for a while, doesn’t seem to matter. Even on the dip I once lost everything..... it’s more like rolling dice sometimes you win (most I got was just under 10k), sometimes you lose....🤷🏻♂️

I'm doing this mainly because I want all the pistols. I already have most, and 2/3 legendary just from playing normally and beating the entire campaign 3 times but this should speed it up

This only works about 10% of the time for me. However, this video was posted a month ago, and the exploit could have been patched on the PC version. The saving technique works perfectly, the market graph means nothing, though.
The market graph dont mean shit, buuut if you crash the market in New York and then come back to the safe house and bet some on the stock market then you have a garunteed max win

THANKS. The moment I lost all collectors tools I wanted to cheat, because there's no point grinding and spending 30,000 on a lockpick, 40,00 on a dart gun that disappears just as quick as the common shiv, even if I don't bring them on a mission??? It's borked, so alt f4 for me and no regrets.

I tried playing the stock market while wearing The Black Dragon suit (Deluxe) and with the flight being booked, I have won more times consecutively in that way. If you return to the safe house (after winning) and the option "Play the stock market" doesn't appear, book a flight and it will appear.
I dont plan to abuse this, but im totally gonna use it to help prop up the start of a run. Its such agony when a mission set i pick has no vaults and only 3 couriers to rob across all maps...
wait... if you win merces, you quit to save the game. And then you load up freelancer again and try the stock market. If you lose, you close the application without saving and the process continues.
I think that's easier than starting the mission plus it reduces time taken to load

As far as the stock market goes if you make a trade and you lose money just quit the game you'll get your money back it don't press start an exit I mean quit same thing when you're on a mission if you get into a gunfight that you think you can't win just quit the game you get to keep all your stuff and try again

Bad news I think IO saw this as a glitch and apparently fixed it in an off-the-charts no-download-is-necessary update. I now lose everytime I try this.

If you loose mercers doing this, then quit the game (NOT exit to menu) and start it again. Since you haven’t started a new mission yet, the money you lost will now be back :-)

At the rate of doing this you are better off just grinding missions lol, and you'll have more fun. Just make sure to pick syndicates with New York so you can raid the safe. That's an easy 8-13k extra.
I haven’t seen this on any yt things before but every time I fail a mission in free lancer since it came out I’ve just left before I die(usually what it comes to) and I just hard quit the game and it sends me to the safe house with all my stuff
Yeah true thats the one draw back of freelancher the losing what you were carrying makes 100% sense but losing everything in the safe house aside from guns makes no sense hopefully they change that.

Yup, on PS, when shit hits the fan and you think you can't get out of it without failing. Pause the game and then just close the application in the quick menu. Restart and try the mission again.
But once it says 'mission failed' on the screen. That will not work anymore.

Bout to test this out ive won 3 times back to back but it only happened 1 time each earning less money.
Its a newer challenge added to Mendoza called Brother from another Brother basically you have to pacify or eliminate the sniper guys in the tower position they are at and then from that spot sniper both Don Yates and Tamara Vidal thats it then you get the awesome suit.

only thing is you cant quit to menu because although you will retain the money you can't buy stocks again.
this way is the only way to do it so far

Because it does not save the stock market change … 1 thing I did test you could win the stock market then just pause and exit to main menu and it should save the winnings then try again … Long as you keep winning you can keep playing… My original testing starting a mission was the only way to get it to save the change and start again ill test it.
I dont know if this comment section is still very active, but I didnt know where else to post my question (if you know better places, let me know).
I currently am mastery 40 in freelancer, around that, maybe 41 or 42. Recently I encountered a problem with bringing back sniper rifles from missions into the safehouse. When used in the mission and left behind the weapon is lost, thats clear. But I played two maps where I definitely took the sniper with me when exiting (one time on my back and once in a briefcase in my hand) and both times the weapon was no where to be found when getting back from the mission. This accured in a normal mission the first time around and in a showdown mission the second time. So its not even bound to the mission. My chosen transportations of the sniper e.g. once on the back and once in a briefcase work on literally every single other item/weapon in the game and never was a problem until then.
I could ignore the loss of the second sniper, it was a basic blue sniper for like 17-20k which isnt that much anymore, so I wouldnt care, but the first sniper was the white arctic epic rifle (dont know the exact name) which is worth substentially more and isnt a loss taken lightly by me. I have almost every item in the game and I can for sure play on without them but it is a tedious task to farm back the merces and find a dealer who sells it, just to get a weapon back, thats literally ALREADY MINE. This just made me hate missions where snipers are requirred and I now regularry skip extra requirements involving snipers and skip on the extra merces and experience to just keep my damn weapons.
I tested it multiple other times and it seems to only be a problem once in a while as the other tests went fine with me normally retrieving my weapon. Maybe it has something to do with the maps, the normal mission was Paris (sniper in briefcase in my hand) and the showdown was Mendoza (sniper on my back).
Would love to hear some advice or in general if somebody else encountered these problems of if I am alone with this situation. If you read through all of this, thank you dearly my fellow Hitman, may the gods of IO shine upon you.
Unfortunately this mode is bugged but the IOI fanboys will simply just tell you your doing something wrong when you are not. I have lost multiple collectors items when not even taken on missions and failing a mission which also should not happen. You are doing the exact right thing and long as the sniper is on your back , in your hand, or concealed in a suitcase you are holding when you exit the board it should carry back to your safe house so nothing you can do to stop this aside from not using that sniper rifle and just buy 1 cheap one off the supplier and use it for now then discard it before leaving the level so you can buy it again if needed )this is a crap workaround that wastes mercers but nothing else can be done)
So its bugged hopefully they fix all these bugs around weapons/items not returning or disappearing from our safe-house. (What makes it worse is not everyone experiences these bugs so not sure what is the common factor between the people that do but IOI needs to figure it out and fix them.
I lost a Goldballer and a Raptor that way, but it only happened the one time.

the second time (the showdown 1) i can explain but the other 1 idk. basicly if u complete a showdown u get the reward crate video sequence where diana praise you work. in that case the game clears your inventar and putt everything back on the wall. so it looks like u lost it but for real its on your wall so u didnt lost it, i was shocked the first few showdowns aswell till i realzed whats going on. btw if u dont wanna bother putting stuff back on the wall just drop it in the safehouse the game putt it on the wall automaticly
@@undertaker8187 i see your explanation, but its not applicable in that case. it wasnt my first successful campagne, third or fourth overall meaning i knew the deal with how the game handles beating showdown missions. i looked and the weapon wasnt to be found on my wall of weapons. not in my inventory, not in my hand, on my back or anywhere else. normally it just puts it automatically back on the wall you are right about that but that paticular time the mechanic somewhat broke and just deleted my weapon. still appreciate your time and explanation mate
Since some people are disagreeing with each other in the comments, I decided to deliberately blow myself up to see what happens.
I lost everything that I brought into the mission, which was a bomb, and half of my Merces. All of my safehouse items, even the Freelancer tools, were still there and I lost the only Freelancer item that I used in the mission.
I wasn't playing a hardcore campaign. I'll try that once I finish my second campaign.
Were the freelancer tools ranked with either rare, epic or legendary? I wasn't quick enough to close the application when I got taken out by an assassin. Lost the half merces and items/weapons I brought, but also lost all tools that were in the briefcases in the safehouse. If I remember correct they were all "common" ones.
I believe I read in their patch notes that any weapons/items/tools that are rare/epic/legendary would now no longer be lost if you fail. Whereas during the closed technical test you lost everything. Again though, can't confirm and kind of don't want to test it out now after getting most of it all back! Lol
@@North47 I lost the only Common item I brought with me. The rest were still intact.
Once you've reached the later mastery levels, starting from 60 to 70-ish, Merces don't mean anything anymore. You'll be hogging hundreds of thousands of them, maybe even a million, and nowhere to spend them on.
Why?
That's just your experience. Mastery levels and unlock progress are not coupled. If you keep losing missions and losing campaigns then there's no reason you'll necessarily accumulate money (or even equipment) over time. But you will ALWAYS accumulate XP -> mastery levels over time.

Focus on completing challenges and you will always have tons of mercers. Always play steathily even if you are not going for SA. Taking people out without witnesses is always preferable and avoids having shoot outs which is almost a guaranteed lose. I pick the contracts with poisoning targets/guards or using specific weapons and as long as you focus on completing the challenges you can end a mission with 7k regularly i always have enough mercers to buy back my equipment now. When i first played it i didnt focus on the challenges so i was always poor.
This is good advice but the problem becomes when some of the objectives and prestige objective conflict with each other. example Objective says no ranged weapons and prestige says kill will pistol, shotgun, sniper, etc… Some of the prestige objectives can be near impossible considering the map like a timed kill in say morracco where you can get 60seconds to eliminate a target not enough time to do that unnoticed…The hide in crates to reset timers is another dumb BS prestige objective along with the Switch disguises to reset timers and can only use any disguise 1 time what are we an assassin or a lame quick change magician they could have come up with some original prestige objectives instead of these lame recycled ones from the contracts mode.
Honestly this mode is nothing more then a bunch of contracts strung lazily together to make it seem like something new when really the only unique thing is the showdown missions which are still glorified contracts… Would have much preferred new maps and targets… Safe house is cool but could have done so much more like when you fail a mission instead of losing stuff your safehouse is compromised and you have to defend it from the syndicate you attacked and if you lose that then you lose everything … This mode is a missed opportunity on so many levels in my opinion.
@@mattskx yeah sometimes you can’t do them all, hopefully they improve it so that never happens. I always go for the hide and seek prestige if it’s available as it’s an easy 3k, what you can do is plan how you’re going to take the target out while resetting the timer 2:30 is a good amount of time considering you can constantly reset. The other timed prestiges are harder, for me anyway so i avoid them. Explosion kills and collateral weapon kills are easy as with explosion you can literally just chuck a bomb at them or if you have a remote duck they will pick it up if you distract them with it and then can detonate as you leave the level. With collateral kills i take a shotgun and pacify the target and a guard or civillian and place them next to eachother before i shoot. Occasionally i’ll go for silent assassin but always avoid sa/so as there’s too much luck involved you have no idea where the target is going to be so it could be easy or insanely hard without a disguise.
@@mattskx As someone who played every hitman and waited diligently for this mode. I completely agree, it's still fun but I just completed the campaign, it was satisfying but still anti climactic. I agree about your thoughts on the mode; it's much harder to get money, just playing, the game: than the beta. The prestige is bs and I just mostly play without them, which completely rules out hardcore mode for me. I'm Master SOSA player mostly but the fact you have to do the bs objectives and lose all your freelancer tools seems a trash way to keep interest.

Ngl I prefer just having to use what I have and can afford with the money I've gotten from missions to run in freelancer. You'll be spending just as much time grinding money like this as you do your campaign instead of just... well, doing the campaign. It's up to preference ig but I thought I'd chip my opinion in.

y it definitely doesn't work every time, as i finished the mission, timed it so i hit it when the lines are "red" on the screen, and still lost 1.3k or smth around that, small amount doesn't matter.

LMAO! Bro I close the application when I’m on the verge of dying with my best gear or when a briefcase gets stuck in an area I can’t reach. It’s clutch. Sometimes I cheat the game, but the instances where a briefcase gets stuck, the game cheats me.

@@mattskx totally agree and I would also add that ripping half the merces when you fail is just insult to injury, salt on the wound, wish it would change too. If they changed that, so you don't lose money when failing (or as much), I'd be totally okay with losing all tools, because I'd have money to buy back. But losing the tools, and not having money to buy back is just the opposite of a good time.

Much Much faster than playing an entire mission and trying to perfect all objectives and the prestige objective for 1/4 of the merces you can get from the stock market. Unless your Frote7 and can do all of this on every syndicate mission in under 2 mins then yeah it would be slower lol

lol I was thinking of that pretty awesome… Im a decent player nowhere near their level but I have numerous master level plays done with No Loadout… I love playing no load out and using only whats on the board while also getting SASO i shoot for under 20mins i know thats considered slow lol but for me master no loadout SASO in unique ways under 20 pretty good ive also shown some really unique cool ways to take targets down ive never seen 👍 I honestly love this game ive bought every piece of content available 👍

I didn’t understand when it’s best to do the bet. when the market is green or when it is red?
Where you see the green start to drop from its very highest, you'll see a small spike in it again just before it drops to 2 reds. On that small spike (highest point of it), then hold triangle/Y and it should check the stock right as it gets to the 2 reds. If timed right, you should get merces.

The stock market screen is still pretty confusing, I don't know why IOI choose to represent positive value with these downward red lines, my best guess is that they wanted to confuse players so as not to make it so simple. But then, why would the whole screen turn red when you lose? Nothing really seem to make a lot of sense, it's probably randomized anyway.

Nah its not patched its just not 100% to get it …. For me just have to try hitting the DIP either earlier or little later but I can hit pretty regularly this is most consistent way I found you will still lose sometimes but shouldnt lose more than you win if your hitting it right.

I’ve got to say Freelancer is the greatest thing since Blood Money, I came back to hitman after big Payday 3 disappointment to find it has an extraction mode and nearly creamed. The difficulty is so much more fun and feels more repeatable
THIS IS BS. The strategy doesn't work. The stock market result is completely random.
There are four options randomly selected - "Small Win", "Big Win", "Small Loss" and "Big Loss". They each randomise a number from an appropriate minimum to an appropriate maximum.
The stock market graph you see is purely an animation. It's independent of what you earn and there is no logic for checking where the animation is (the graph is a waveform generator whose output is not passed into the sub-entity that handles Merces gain).
