New Subscriber here. I’ve been watching TH-cam video reviews on a lot of things over the years. From bass fishing stuff, R/C stuff, knife stuff, electronics, etc., but I have NEVER seen a video review where the person doing the review actually shows what’s inside that makes things work, not work, better or not better. How many of us have purchased stuff and wondered, “What makes this so special?” Well, I can honestly say that this video is just what we needed! Thank you so much for explaining why Wicked Cushions work and why we should consider them for our headsets. I’m sold!! 👍👍

I've experienced the same thing. The bass is gone. They are definitely more comfortable, but you lose a lot on the sound, which is why I bought the headset to begin with.

  • @akaredcrossbow

The wicked cushion makes the sound a little better and that’s about it.
The stock pads imo are much more comfortable and cooler and feel like you aren’t wearing a headset. I have never had problems with the stock pads with my ears hitting the drivers.
The problem with the WC is the cloth material rubbing on the skin and imo it makes them warmer faster. No fabric would make all the difference.

  • @xPenitentOne
    @xPenitentOne 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I use them for two days now, less of a seal, less bass, find both comfortable, since im used to them for a while 👍🏽 tbh, i slightly prefer the stock pads, but also like the WC. Hopefully people like em as well!!
They increase your bass? Mine don't, they reduce them. Shows how different ears / heads are 😅

I’ve been a turtle beach fan boy for a while but I have a pc now and I need a final comparison between the stealth pro vs the new Astro a 50x so I can finally make a final decision please let me know

I can't say for the A50X but I've been using the older A50 regular model and once I get cushions I will try them
However, the Astro A50's are really bass heavy stock form and average mids and weak in the treble compared to the Turtle Beaches Stealth Pros
In fact, until I get all my wicked cushions I would say stock for stock the Stealth Pros are better in every way compared to the old A50's.
But at this point Astro isn't even on my radar anymore.
You get more EQ out of the Stealths as well vs the Astros, the Astros software has always been lack luster.
You cant really EQ the bass out of the Astros, or the Stealth pros but the Astros just thump no matter what.
The Stealth Pros have a very smooth, broad distinct range. To the point that they give me more 'images' of directional audio then the A50's.
      Sometimes its scary.
The Razer Blacksharks I have will do it once in a blue moon, if the sound is just right.
The Voice chat mixing in the Astros is a better setup but their implemenation with the base station is just so confusing vs Turtle Beaches.
The Astros bleed so much noise they are almost an open back headset for me.
Its good and bad, I will be trying wicked cushions on them just for fun to see how it goes. I don't have a ton of faith in it, but it might recoup some sound quality.
I use my Astro A50's literally as a portable speaker at this point I put them next to my bed to use as speakers from my desktop to watch movies. They are that loud.
The turtle beaches have smooth 50mm drivers that are distinct in all categories, easier to tell sound ranges apart but not to sharp and crisp like the Razer Blackshark v2 pro's 'titanium drivers' I got at the same time as the stealth pros... The Razer's drivers are Bass Weak and I mean weak. Its good and bad. Bf2042 has too much bass in the battlefield so it excels in those aspects if your looking to cut down on explosions.
However Razer's drivers are almost extremely sharp in the mid-high ranges. Like glass breaking sharp. Very precise.
I have felt air pulses sometimes coming from all 3 headsets, but the a50's have a hard time with their stock cushions. Its crazy because its almost like it has haptics in its own way lol. At the right tune/frequency.
Stealth pros have relatively fast swappable batteries, something new to me which I honestly never expected as I went in pretty much blind. Me saw shiny headset that is great for FPS.
The turtle beaches however, are HEAVY AF compared to astros or even blacksharks. The pads are very pleathery and cushy but the headset does feel like I wouldn't want to do jumping jacks with it for fear of falling off. My ears barely fit inside the stock pads, and my ears actually hurt slightly while typing this.
The Astros, while having the most comfortable fit, would absolutely make me fear them falling off my head if I was trying to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. Just even a little bending over you can feel them shift. Great for big heads, lightweight.
Razer blacksharks are almost like a tactical headset. You could do anything with them, and their range is good. THX spatial is ok, but I add DTSX (its 10 bucks) on top of the THX spatial audio and it helps get a clearer sound profile overall for them obv. excluding the weak bass.
If you get Astros, if you get Stealth Pros, GET DTS.X or windows spatial if you don't have 10 bucks, or even some free spatial audio program. It helps immensely.
Yeah, im on an audio kick right now with what hearing I have left lol

I just got these cushions in and they are nowhere near as comfortable as the stock pads and sound passes right through them. I could hear exterior noise very easily in a quiet room and the stock pads are far superior to these. I really wanted to like wicked cushions due to the amount of ear sweat I get from the stock earcups but I just can't recommend them and will be returning mine

I bought the Stealth Pro after watching your review, and trying other headsets. Your review was spot-on, and these quickly became my favorite.
I usually play at night in a dark, air-conditioned room, so I've never really been bothered by heat generated by leatherette earcups. But I tried the Wicked Cushions on my SS Arctis Nova 7X - again, after your recommendation - and they were much better than the stock earpads. So I'm really curious about the WCs on my Stealth Pro.
