The problem is that SCOTUS could have just said "no" to absolute immunity months ago. It doesn't seem reasonable that ANY of the charges in the DC case will be subject to immunity. If SCOTUS just wanted an academic exercise to define the boundaries of presidential immunity, it could have been done WITHOUT delaying the DC trial.

There is no case to have in front of a court of law! The constitution states that all people of the United States are created equal and are to be treated as equals according to the constitution that that governs the nation and its citizens! If the law provides complete immunity only to the citizens that are elected president then there would not be any restrictions to the ability to hold the office of president. Because the majority elected person that gains the presidency would not be able to be held to the legal authority and standards that govern our nation and the people. The constitution and the laws are the most restrictive reason for our constant inadequacy to properly govern the country in a functioning and adequate way to achieve the social conditions that are the current state of our democracy. The constitution has been altered in the past addressing several new amendments. Though most of the amendments have benefited the corporate interests and the people are not being provided with the same ability to be the authority of the nation allowing the government and corporate interests the power to overturn the laws that we have fought for to protect us. The government and judiciary are playing with fire by holding the people from being able to control the laws that are the basis for the criminal and civil codes. The supreme courts want to make the constitution the ultimate guide for the law and order of America. The problem is that if that is the standard for laws being enforced and broken then every law that congress has imposed on the people are not legally enforceable by any law enforcement agency or the Supreme Court itself because they didn’t exist in our country for a very long time!

In the opposite, a US President cannot order political opponents to be prosecuted or killed, unofficial actions. The question here is whether Trump's inciting the 1/6/21 insurrection/attack on the US Capitol disrupting the Constitutional process, causing severe damage, and injuring many was an official act.
