My endocrinologist just upped my Monjurao from 7.5 to 10. My last A1C was 4.8. No weight loss and no appetite suppression. But before I started taking this, my A1C was 9. Sounds like your new year is starting good. You are an inspiration.

      4.8 A1C? That's like a reversal of diabetes. Congratulations!

@@Jeffereez Hi, can you clarify something in your comment? You said you had no weight loss and no appetite suppression with Mounjaro, but your A1C went down to 4.8 - is that correct? I just started on Mounjaro last week at 2.5 mg and have not noticed any appetite suppression at all, I'm still hungry and doing my best to resist eating, but it's making me miserable. I too am currently at an A1C of 8, as of May 1st. Can you explain why your endo took you up to 10, and if you are now experiencing less hunger on that dosage? Thank you!

Mike, I Stumbled across your first Mounjaro video doing a search for Mounjaro side affects, specifically itching that starts a day or two after each injection and lasts for three or four days. I haven't seen much on that anywhere but otherwise I am thrilled with the Mounjaro results. I am not a horror movie fan, but after "meeting" you I feel that you are a friend and look forward to watching more of your videos and trying a movie or two on your suggestion!
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at 50 years old but am sure that I had it long before as I only went to the doctor when I had to... (Stitches or bad sinus infection.) What a dummy I was... My blood pressure was through the roof, A1c at 12.5 and my weight was 290. I was 6'1" and active in my plumbing job and enjoyed recreational activities. (Scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing etc.) No cardio but active. Ten years later, blood pressure meds, diabetes meds and retirement my weight rose to 320, A1C hovered @7.5. My doctor recommended Mounjaro 4 months ago and I have been pleased. I have lost 25 pounds, reduced my other diabetes meds, A1c is below 7 and I feel better without initiating an exercise program. I stay busy and active but still no cardio. Currently using Mounjaro 12.5mg and have the same feelings for food as you described so perfectly. I am cold most of the time and bundle up in blankets and jackets where I used to always be warm before. Aside from the crazy itch at around the injection site several days a week Mounjaro has been wonderful. Never thought as an airplane seat being somewhat comfortable as a goal but you are spot on!!! 220 is my goal weight, haven't been there in 40 years... Who knows, I may some day run into you on a 5k run! (meanwhile I will look forward to many more comfortable years enjoying life, family and food in much smaller quantities!!)
Thank you so very much for sharing your experience, and giving me the opportunity to "meet" you and through the comments and your followers also!
I subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos and even giving a recommended horror movie a chance.... Bob

I appreciate you sharing your story. It sounds, not exactly, but so close to mine. I am a long time Type 2 diabetic. But for years I didn’t take it seriously. My favorite reply every time someone wanted to “advise” me, was “Well, I can’t eat cardboard everyday!” I was not changing my diet, just changing when I would eat the “forbidden” foods. That was a huge mistake, but I just could not face my reality. Fast forward I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2020. I was told that sugar feeds the cancer cells. I tried to control my sugar intake, but that voice was still so loud in my head. I would just inject more insulin to keep my A1C at a reasonable number. The more insulin I took, the more weight I gained.😓 But the doctor explained that every time your blood sugar is above 180, there is damage occurring in the body. That kinda jolted me a bit. I finally have been able to control it more since starting on the Mounjaro. I find I can pretty much refuse the junk now. That is making me a lot happier. Just the constant thinking about food was so draining! I still haven’t gotten the exercise going just yet. I’m only 2 weeks in. But I know I must start soon so I can prevent muscle loss. These medications can cause thinning of our bones, as well. Also don’t forget that as you lose weight you are doing less natural “weight baring” exercise on your hips, legs, & feet. Taurine helps with retaining the muscle you already have & will help prevent losing the muscle that you’re building. Eating enough protein is also essential. You calculate it by multiplying .7 x how much you weigh. That gives you the number of grams of Protein you need. The more you lose, the less grams you will need daily. This helps keep your hair from falling out too. Keeping stabilization is also important to prevent a fall. This is also a reason to exercise. Well, I hope you are doing well on your journey. If you happen to slip on a particular day, just get back on the horse, the next day. It is not the end of the world. Forgiving ourselves is sometimes the hardest thing to do. We will readily forgive others in a heartbeat!, but we don’t always show ourselves the same kindness. We have to remember that “we matter!”. We have friends & family that want us to be around.
      Hope this helps!🌸

"What works for you" is the KEY!!! Everyone needs to find what works for us. I love how you said "I'm by NO means done". Me either! I am so proud of you! I too lost no weight over the holidays, but I didn't gain either and i was thrilled. I did allow myself things that I don't normally eat - not much, because this should not be torture, it should be a new way to live. And my A1C is so good! I know Mounjaro has added years to my life, I too started going the gym! Isn't THAT a miracle! I never EVER would imagined that I'd be doing that. I lift weights because I don't want to lose muscle. Your attitude that this does not happen overnight is mandatory for this kind of change. This and your other video's are very inspiring!!!!! You are a warrior sir. March on!!! (And being cold may be Ketosis)

Your goal of 200 to 215 are just like mine. Restarted Mounjaro after several months of battling insurance company. Lost 35 lbs during first run before switching jobs and new insurance denial. Gained most back. Restart weight 279. After two weeks down to 269. Even though I was taking 10mg. Doctor restarted me at 7.5. A few side effects but nothing serious. Blood glucose already moving down to 115 range compared to 150 before. Still long way to go for both diabetes and weight control. Wish me luck!

Three weeks in and what I notice the most is not a decrease in appetite so much as if I over eat it all comes right back up! That have for sure motivated me to eat slower and be cautious not to eat the amount of food I used to because one of the things I dislike most of all is throwing up! I will do anything to keep that from happening!!! Just had my lab results and A1C is 9.8 pre Mounjaro and this is while on Metformin ER and Jardiance. However I just ate whatever the hell I wanted with no regard to my type 2 diabetes! So yes! Thank you! You have been the most real about it all and your ending advice I need to play over and over again! I spent some time in Buffalo and Eden last year and farm visits that really make me think about what nutrition is and now I need to step up and get it straight! Be kind to myself! And forgive my bad days. You rock! ❤

Well done Mike - your personal journey and thoughts on things are always welcome, always very inspiring, and I always look forward to hearing your experiences and personal takes on various aspects of life.
I used to be a larger guy, and a smoker, and a bad eater, and sedentary. Now I'm 50 years old and in good shape - people are often amazed that I'm as old as I am. I say this only to show folks that it can be done, and it can be sustained: as Anthony Hopkins said in...er...some film, haha, "what one man can do, another can do!". Wise words, and applies to all sexes, of course. I'm by no means perfect in my lifestyle - I drink too much still, but I'm working on that, it's a work in progress.
Not that anyone asked, but if I have anything to add to what's been said here, it's this: please be careful with jogging folks - it's a very high impact activity, and can result in wear and injury, especially if you're a bit older, and/or a bit heavier, or if your form is slightly off. Always monitor and know yourself. Have back up practices that you can jump into as an alternative when things are looking/feeling dicey. I also find that a whole food plant based diet is very effective on a number of levels. Whilst it's important to say that no one diet is for absolutely everyone, and everyone must find their own path, the research is very good, and very thorough, including meta analyses, and long term population studies. Control and and even reversal of type 2 diabetes is well documented on this diet in scientific literature. Just something that's perhaps worth looking into for people out there with this diagnosis, maybe. The best of luck to all of us in our endeavours this coming year, and beyond.

Many thanks for your videos. I’m from Switzerland and your experiences are exactly the same than mine, altough I‘m older than you and I should have Mounjaro a decade ago, it is helping me so much to manage my eating habits. I‘ve struggeled my whole live and I can‘t hear all these skinny health coaches anymore because it‘s not just about the will, I‘ve managed to loose weight several times but it was not sustainable because it‘s nearly impossible to resist over years this noise in your head. I‘ve also stopped smoking and this is not compareable because the need to smokes fades with time but not to eat, when your body or your brain tells you, is a completely other story. If you have to stop eating without be satiated all the time you just can‘t resist this all the time, you just can‘t in my opinion.

Thanks again for another very helpful video. I'd love to hear about what you're eating. I own a small Visual Effects company in Los Angeles, so I spend hours and hours in front of my computer and have for all my life which has been a big factor in my weight and lack of exercise. Now at age 56 it has all caught up with me. I'm still waiting for approval from insurance, fingers crossed. I look forward to checking out your movie reviews.
