I have a 13 foot Scamp and love it. Mine has the bath up front which I could do without quite nicely. I am a full time Scamper, meaning I live in mine and travel all over, boon docking in the desert southwest in the winter and camp hosting in MN in the summer. I have had so many compliments on mine it's unbelievable. I pull mine with a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has over 273,000 miles on it. So, you will enjoy yours to the max and happy trails.

I didnt see the bathroom option in the 13' model only the 16'??
I too want to live in one full time. How is it getting a place to park now with all this virus crap going on? I know many places have closed down due to it. Hope it all opens back up before long. I am 81 but hate my big house in this big city and I want out! I have a teardrop but its not big enough to live in or out of.
Tom, that's awesome! I've been doing the same with my 13 and can't get enough of it.
We live in Minnesota, and have thought about getting a scamp for awhile, and also thinking about the camp hosting, can you enlighten us about that? My husband is concerned about if you get rowdy folks, what is your responsibility? We love camping and right now are still using a tent. We did visit the scamp dealership, they show you every one, pretty impressive.

Excellent. We picked up our 13 footer in August 2018....our first camper ever. Our thinking correlates very closely to yours...though we did get the furnace. My wife did all the research on line...ordered on line...we made this purchase 100% sight-unseen. We gave our local mechanic the diagrams for wiring our Odyssey...and headed from the middle of Kansas to Backus. Yeah, we were wondering how crazy we were...and OMG were we in for a surprise! Everything connected and worked! But mostly we were shocked with/by the interior space-in a good way :) The spaces are so efficient and usable. We have travelled 8600+ joyful miles so far...its' off to the Wichita Mountains in a couple days. We are sooooooo pleased...and our 10 and 13 year old grandsons are in 7th heaven too!!!

@@elizabethrichards3504 i have the one with out bath and shower. That extra space is nice and allow me to have a seating area and leave bed down. Plus i like to have things simple and the lighter the better. Plus i dont want any smells in my air tight scamp. There are so many creative ways to wash go to toilet . Keep it simple and dont stress out on emptying the ranks .
Oh, it's too cute! We talked about getting a Tab and hitting the road. Once you start watching RV videos, you won't be able to stop! Lol. Looking forward to more videos. Especially once the adventures begin.
Congratulations! Cute rig! Hope you make many many great memories in this little Scamp! Don't forget to pay attention to how much your trailer weighs after all your stuff is in it and also how much you can load in your car when you are towing. It all makes a difference.

Love it! At one time we had a 30 ft motor home with every accessory you can think of. That thing was a bear to drive. I'm recently single and have been looking at tents that hook to the back of vehicles with a lift gate, (which I have). I'd pretty much decided on getting the tent but the thought of a bathroom, or lack of, had not crossed my mind until you mentioned you opted out for your scamp. Now considering a scamp...but with a bathroom and ac LOL Great video, thanks.
Traveling as a single woman you may want to consider a Class B or a van. Plenty of places I've pulled over for a quick nap or even a "potty' stop. The people nearby were rowdy or a bit intimidating and I was so happy to be self-contained. Take care of my needs, then drive away while still inside.

Hi Brittany! So excited for your new journey...i know you'll make it an EPIC adventure! Love love love the tiny trailers...but gosh, have i learned a lot. We had our Lil Snoozy insulated exactly as you've got there in the Scamp.."Ratfur" reigns!! :) As you go, you'll discover what you need and more importantly what you DONT. Just allow your car, or "tow vehicle" to carry what you need. The ONE thing that helps enormously if you feel you need more space...get a CLAM shelter...we did and that completely fills our need for extra "living space". I set up a table, chairs, -everything, & go out there in the am (though meals are great out there too) with coffee, phone, all you need. IT HELPS enormously! Can't wait to learn how YOU prepare meals & get on with it! Where you go camping too...that's a biggie. We are both from Pgh. but live (unfortunately) in Orlando, so we have to travel FAR to get away from the heat...you've got TONS of wonderful camping destinations not too far away from you. Have a blast!!! Hugs to you!!
Congratulations! You will have so much fun camping and your dogs will love it as well. I have a lot of friends who compete with their dogs who own RVs/campers etc. and bringing the dogs with them is a huge plus.

I'm so excited for you! I grew up going camping and now my husband and I are going to do a bit of converting to our new little van so we can camp in it. As someone else mentioned, don't forget when you pack it with food and stuff it'll add a lot to the weight. Also, try and put those beds up without moving the cushions right off, I think you should be able to just push them up in place? Also the extra table peice, can you just slide it under a seat cushion? Lots of conversions do that. Happy camping! Would love to see videos of your healthy cooking while camping, very important to us!

I have traveled in a 1999 for about 13 years. From the Midwest to the west coast, the Rocky's, the Great Lakes, etc. and have put a lot of miles on it. It's been excellent and I suspect you'll really like it. And if you keep it a long time and use it a lot you'll like it even more. Grease the wheel bearings every year and you'll be good to go for a long time. Another nice thing is their resale value. I wouldn't sell mine for any less than what I paid for it 13 years ago. Enjoy!

We have a 1979 Trillium 4500. We love. It's very similar to yours - but MUCH older! (You may find it easier to leave the bottom cushion where it is, but just pull it forward a bit while you put the back up to make the bunk. Still a bit awkward, but easier than wrestling with the cushion to get it back in around the supports.) Happy travels with your new camper! I'm sure you will enjoy it!

The Big Bed Scamp 13', great choice. You optioned it almost perfect for my taste, though I probably would have added an awning and gone with Curtain Delete (many less rivet holes in your fiberglass). AC's and Bathrooms are loud and used very little by most. Love the new center support brace they are using next to the sink, not seen that before. One suggestion, grab a couple sheets of 3M clear protective film for both sides of the front. Will really help with rocks chips.
Would it get too hot in Florida without an a/c ?
They are customizable so if we lived in Florida I would get the ac

Very nice. We have a sprinter van conversion. I got a baby vitamix, tiny food processor, mealthy air fryer lid for my instant pot. We have stayed in it as long as 4 months in a row. No problem with WFPB eating. My fridge is bigger than yours however.
Looks like that's a propane leak, carbon monoxide detector under the bed. You don't want to block its air flow by putting something in front of it. It will scream at you in the night if it gets unhappy.

Be a good idea to replace Your shorepower adapter with a better one!! Also I learned the hard way when You plug Your trailer into the 7 way plug on Your Subura make sure it is secured!! I learned that one the hard way. Dragged my cord across South Dakota!!!

It is adirable!! I'm so excited for you!! I encourage to join the Scamp club and go to some rallies with them. Or it could be Casita club but I think they include Scamps. I know there is one just not the details. It is so exciting to go to a campground and see dozens of them at once. We've had that happen 2 or 3 times. After many years of tent camping with our large family and several campers, we now own an Airstream and recently retired. We have had a blast with our Airstram club. I know you will have many happy adventures with your new baby! PS. Don't forget to give her/him/it a name!

It looks really nice ..... I have a big pop up camper w/heat and air ... but for bathroom ... when needed ... I use a 2 room shower tent for shower and bathroom .... camping toilet and portable shower ... not expensive .... works great when needed . Just a thought for you guys . Look forward to your videos ... Brand new with camping with a camper .... I learned a lot through videos like yours ... in the future I will look into a solid camper . I love that this is so lite ... But have 3 adults that travel right now . Anyway good luck with your new camper . 😀
LOVE your scamp. I would do the exact same but 100% with the furnace and AC. I get summers off from work so I like going out further and longer for my trips but I was just killed by my last two. Hither Hills low 90's and Letchworth 99F and humid super buggy. Both trips were hampered by storms too so a little cabin would be a nice reprieve. In the fall I would make good use of the furnace too and have to think about electric running out the battery quick or Mr. Buddy fumes. The fantastic fan is one of the best things ever invented for RV's! Going to call Scamp on Monday to get a quote. The Casita's are nice but too expensive. oh well, there's always the tent haha

Finally, Scamp changed the two twisted metal cabinet supports to a rather nice looking tree design. Much much nicer.
