"Rise Above" The first song that got me into Punk Rock when I was in 4th Grade. Punk to me in its purest form is a no bullshit no compromise form of music. If you want to know why Punk thrived in England. It was a musical reaction to a country that was/is economically out of touch. If you really want to understand watch the movie Pissst The Filth and The Fury. England was a 1st world country with a 3rd world economy being held up by The U.S..Strangely enough in The U.K. Punk was highly influenced by Reggae. Culture, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, etc. Essentially Punk, Rap, and Reggae in their purest form are no compromise social commentaries and a reflection of where they live. Talib Kweli "Beautiful Struggle, P.E. in General, De La Soul, Immortal Technique, Ice-T, etc. You can all see lyrically how they relate to Punk and Reggae.
A lot of punk rock is for the part a social commentary, it is a call to encourage a generation to wake up. "They may have been calling we teenagers PUNKS, but all the while refusing to swallow the foul emission from the corporate SKUNKS." ~Me~ (just now)
Black Flag!! A Classic Hardcore staple. That was my first Black Flag song as a kid. Yeah, I'm one of those *scary* SJWs you're talking about. My ex (30, non binary, usually a victim SJW, but I learned a lot from Them) always said that the I'm "terrifying", that the cops hate me because they're scared of me. The way I feel now, they *should* be afraid of me . . . if I didn't have a kid to take care of by myself lol I suppose if the pigs weaponized him to try and manipulate me, their thin ice wouldn't be so supportive. Most of us are a little older (some as old as my parents, I think even Vinnie Stigma is in his 60s. Henry Rollins turned 60 in February. You got your 90s Hardcore Kids in their mid 40s to mid 50s, and you got your baby OGs, like me, in their early to late 30s. There are still plenty of young people coming into the fold, but for many of them it's just a phase as opposed to a way of life. Yeah, that "Rise Above" spirit is alive and well; take a look at Madball toward the end of April. The press was obviously shitty lol I love the show, youse guys! Stay gold. Stay you.
Seventh Wonder - The Great Escape It's a 30 minute prog-rock masterpiece, and the vocalist Tommy Karevik is one of the best singers I have ever heard in my opinion.

There was a punk church in San Antonio named after Rise Above.
"WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THEY COME FOR YOU
A GANG A HATIN' PIGS
WHAT HAVE THEY EVER REALLY DONE FOR YOU
AIN'T NEVER DONE SHIT"
I hope at least one person knows what's that from.
The only movement Vin's ever led, is a bowel movement.
Reaction
Sex pistols- Hollidays in the sun
Yes Henry Rollins was the lead singer of Black Flag. The fourth one to be exact.
Next... (BAD BRAIN)👊🏻
But then this channel would be banned in D.C.
I was wondering if you guys would try a Billy talent song, I feel like the style would fit with the latest songs you've been listening to
TSOL- Abolish Government/Silent Majority
Henry Rollins would make a fantastic president.
Also, that domination convo reminds me...
Check out Dominate by Morbid Angel. I think they're long overdue for a video.
Also, Incendiary. They're a hardcore band. Still Burning & Fact Or Fiction fucking slap, my guys. A lot of political themes there as well, similar to this song.
Dafuq you mean we don't know the song Break My Stride?
Great commentary and analysis as always.
Could you please react to Gallows - Come friendly bombs or Gallows - In the belly of a shark. They're the band that properly got me into punk.
I think it would be interesting to see what Vin would think about Kottonmouth Kings blend of punk and rap like Dying Daze.
You have to do Rich Kids on LSD!! Beautiful feeling part 3. Most underrated yet talented band of all time.

Amazing band!!!!! Great someone mentioned em...
@@jensbaumann6945 I try to mention them as much as possible, it amazes me how little known they are now. When I was growing up in the 90's they were the raddest band around. No one could could even come close to what these guys were doing at the time. Rip Jason, Bomer, and Derrick. BTW check out "The Other" with Bomer, Chris and Boz if you haven't already.
@@andytonetti2547 yes rkl are pure gold... but people today just dont appreciate their genius.. they dont even know. they hardly heard of the bad brains.. sad. And yes the other are also great. Different but i love that Album...
There was so much great stuff out back than... articles of faith, mdc... today most Hardcore bands are just doing this noise thing... or sound like metalcore... i put some poison idea on right now ;)
Andy you know your shxt! RKL RULES.
A great start to your first introduction to hardcore punk!
Youth of today - No more
Chokehold - Not a solution
Social Distortion - Don't drag me down
please react that songs!!
I think you should try and get an interview with Rollins like it was suggested below. Maybe check out some of his songs.
Yeah Henry Rollins... He's also a stand up comedian and gets pretty intense in his speeches.
Liar was "Rollins Band". Funny video. It was my introduction to punk/hardcore back in the 90s on MTV
Rollins Band's song Ghostrider was on Mortal Kombat soundtrack, slowed down and in my view better version. The whole soundtrack is badass. Has Pantera's Badge too. Check it out sometime
Black Flag "White Minority"
Pennywise "Bro Hymn"
Pretty controversial track
Hardest working band, ever.
You see alot of people with the "four bars" flag. Each one has a story of endurance, tragedy, and coming out on top.
Sori: it sounds like they’re protesting
Vin: yeah, It’s punk.
Fake news! I immediately responded to Vin's inquiry about my punk song of choice and he confirmed. This is a clear example of the establishment trying to keep us down!
She was like “God it’s so annoying when someone distorts what I say.” Like it was only like a minor annoyance
Rise Against- State of the Union
Great reaction guys!, Please react to a great Hardcore punk band ~Agnostic Front - Gotta go~. Thank youu
Juan Salcedo This
I would suggest anthem or it happened yesterday by af...
kinda surprising that vin knows who henry rollins is by name and recognises him but doesn't know about black flag
Every song on this album!!!!
I knew that song. It hit me right in the childhood. lol I think I was like 6 or 7
HENRY ROLLINS BAND - WHAT HAVE I GOT?
RATOS DE PORAO its the name of the band means cellar rats they are from brazil they play hc-punk and song from them CRUCIFICADOS PELO SISTEMA crucified by system...please react good stuff
Since were breaking into American punk, how about Minor Threat? DC band that led the straight edge movement. Look Back and Laugh or Cashing In; both would be great choices!
Do a quick one with Misfits Skulls or Astro Zombies :-)
They had so many hits... I'd probably go for Angelfuck.
A quick reaction from them? AHAHAHAHAHAHA..............
Hunger Strike Temple of the dog
Henry Rollins was one of the singers of BLACK FLAG AND BLACK FLAG ARE A TEN EVERY DAY OF EVERY WEEK
People Are Strange - The Doors
Yeah, totally, one of my very faves!
BLACK FLAG / HENRY ROLLINS .....LEGENDS!....listen to his SPOKEN WORDS Recordings..
"They may have been calling we teenagers PUNKS, but all the while refusing to swallow the foul emission from the corporate SKUNKS."
~Me~ (just now)
Back in the late 70s to the end of 82 Black Flag was at the Skin head of the pack and was true Core.
The press was obviously shitty lol
I love the show, youse guys! Stay gold. Stay you.
I felt empowered by screaming "no future" because then we owned it ourselves. "Ok, I got no future so what!"
Moonspell - Night Eternal
How bout some Bad Brain's, or Gang Green or Jerry's Kids.
Seventh Wonder - The Great Escape
It's a 30 minute prog-rock masterpiece, and the vocalist Tommy Karevik is one of the best singers I have ever heard in my opinion.
never been a big fan of the punk sound but I have always been a fan of the movement.
