I just got my back handspring yesterday after 3 years of trying. If you're reading this and you don't have it, DONT GIVE UP! I promise the feeling will be worth it once you get it! I worked hard and now can do it. Promise yourself you will do it, and practice every day. You can do it, I believe in you!
for anyone looking to get there's but is worried that there hands won't be able to take your weight try this :) do fast backbends and it helped me so much !@

This helped me because I'm planning when I get out of school for summer to run out the front doors and run onto the grass and go straight into a round off back hand spring
You dont have to be strong. But you have to know dont just fall down bend your back dont just lay dont that way you might fall on your neck and use ur arms you dont have to be strong but you have to land with your arms and push back up
A backhand spring isn’t something to afraid of about falling on your neck, it is a quick and simple move. But I used to feel like that. Try not to worry about that dude
+rachelalex3 and +Simply Lindsey try some rides. Rides are when you jump back from the same way you would for a Back Handspring but on a couch, soft mat, etc. They worked for me but I don't know if they would help you. It's just a suggestion :)
+GlitterKitties XO 456 I got my back handspring today it was awesome of you have a trampoline try practicing on there and also you cannot land on your neck during a back handspring it had never happend and it also takes confidence and btw I got mine without a spot just my trampoline
I have my bhs, I just like can’t do it. Ever since I’ve gotten the skill officially, I’ve just gotten less and less confident. I don’t even know what my fear is. I know I won’t get hurt, and I used to do the skill all the time easily. My coach gets annoyed every time I can’t do it and I need help! Every time I lean back and then I just fucking CAN’T!
I relate so much!! I have the skill nailed down but its just the first time I did it I was so confident after a couple months I eventually got so scared I dont know what to do which is what brought me here :(
I can already do back hand springs and I am still watching your videos because I like the way you explain things and your personality. What is your zodiac sign?
Nouman Street Stunts practice on beds or big trampolines first. in case you mess up you are on something bouncy. there is no amount of practiced flips a person can learn a back hand spring before they do it on ground. Just practice until you get it right on the bed or trampoline and then when you feel good enough to do it on ground go for it. When you start on ground start in the grass, not the concrete. in case you mess up. good luck.
Just to tell you the backward roll to handstand is also called a back extension roll. I have been doing gymnastics since i was 3 and am just now getting over my fear of a back handspring because of this video. Thank you!
I've been watching your 5 minute tutorials for years but always watched from my bed lol. But cuz of quarantine i finally got out and in about 10 minutes I got my back handspring with your 5 min vid. It looks pretty bad but i got
thank you for this. I found an adult freestyle class where I can safely practise moves. for me, confidence is very important. this video is great for helping with that. I'm hoping that even though I'm 34 now and not particularly fit, that I can build up towards walkovers and handsprings!
Already today I've almost got a back handspring down and I can now do a back-walkover all from watching two of his videos this is the most progress I've had in my year since starting this
This dude is so helpful because when u watch yhe other people’s video and they are like do a back limber and jump. I cant that ain’t gonna happen but this person always finds another day
Thanks for this video. It makes perfect sense. I once was able to do front handspring flip when I was a teen. After high school, I got fat. Now at 27, I lost hella weight and yesterday I discovered I'm able to it again after 3 successful attempts. Once I completely master it, I'll move on to the back handspring. Then hopefully tuck.
I haven't started training this yet, but for falling back confidence: I recommend learning to bend/fall into a bridge from standing. If you can do that, you will realize how tall you are and get used to bracing on your hands. Oh, P.S. it's also helpful for the front handspring as well if you train your abs by pulling yourself to your feet after.
ok! oh and can you please make a video of how to overcome your fears in doing a front handspring because i really need for my 2016 gymnastics competition?
I can't believe how excited I am, I hVe never felt so excited/confident to do a flip before. I don't feel nervous at all. I am going to try this tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!😆😆😆
You have to keep your arms behind your ears. If you don't have your arms there, your head is closer to the ground, causing you to fall on your head. Same thing for backbends, back kickovers, etc. Hope this helped :)
omg Tessa Alofaituli thats exactly what happened to me!! i got it on a sunday. not perfect, but i got it. 5 hours later, attempted to do it again and was too afraid/couldnt
This advice is very accurate, great vid pigmie! People are always trying to go around the fear only by doing some other movement that is similar to the one they try to learn, but it's all about creating confidence! (and there are many ways to build that)
I did get my round off back handspring but sadly I lost it. I really want to get it back but the new year (2022) made me feel like I can’t do it. This video did help me, I am going to go to practice tomorrow and if we work on floor, I’ll try and do my back handspring.
I can do a back handspring on the trampoline but am worried about doing it on the ground because I have bad wrist and scared they will give in. I also have no one to spot me. Any tips? x
I Would Get A Mattress and these are less softer that a trampoline but still bouncy then Try It On A Mat Or Yoga Mat Then On The Ground Also I Think You Should Have Someone Spot You Or Bribe Them Too😂 Hope I Helped
When I was in third grade to fifth grade I had my back handspring and tuck, but one day I was doing a tuck outside on my mat when I freaked out mid air and landed on my shoulder fracturing it. It was very scary and now I’m scared to do both. I’m now going into 7th grade and working on trying to get it back 🙂 if only I didn’t go out side that day 😂
Few years ago during my teenage i was comfortable with front handspring one day i tried back one but my wrist twisted and from that day i never tried again but im comfortable with most of the back stretches and hand stands i hope I'll succeed this time!
It’s good that he said you should stretch both sides of your back. I did the brige to often without stretching the other side. Because of that, I broke a part of my back. So always stretch both ways!!!
Great confidence builder! like me i dont have the facilities and equipment to do practice my tricks. you inspired me to avoid fear in making my first backhandspring.
This is perfect timing!! I've been trying to get a back handspring everyday for the past 11 days for the 365 Parkour (Freerunning/Tricking) challenge. This months major skill that I'm trying to get down (along with the basics of Parkour) is back handsprings... aaaand I'm strugglin... xD Thanks for the awesome videos Pigmie!! :D

Courtko same! It was purely fear.
I got mine less then 20 mintes😂 I just went for it 😂😂😂

+fabulous_ gamergurl I'm too scared 😂 I can do a back bend kick over but it's TO HARD TO GO BACK!
for anyone looking to get there's but is worried that there hands won't be able to take your weight try this :) do fast backbends and it helped me so much !@

+rachelalex3 and +Simply Lindsey try some rides. Rides are when you jump back from the same way you would for a Back Handspring but on a couch, soft mat, etc. They worked for me but I don't know if they would help you. It's just a suggestion :)

please reply how many time it takes to you to learn a backhandspring ?

Thanks a lot for these videos. The internet is full of tutorials, but those are useless until you're confident enough to try things.
thanks bro
I can't believe how excited I am, I hVe never felt so excited/confident to do a flip before. I don't feel nervous at all. I am going to try this tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!😆😆😆
Same omg I'm not scared like at all
How did it go?
I fear to got back hand spring in ground
great vids man I've been trying your fear tecniques and they really work
I've watched about every single video on how to do a back handspring and I still can't do it
I’m not scared of anything else but jumping back into my back handspring
Why do i always land a bhs with my head????? Any help plz???
You have to keep your arms behind your ears. If you don't have your arms there, your head is closer to the ground, causing you to fall on your head. Same thing for backbends, back kickovers, etc. Hope this helped :)
+Naranluv Thank you!!!! 😁
_its _anunusualname build up your strength in your wrists and arms so then you can keep your strength
You are doing a great job, thanks for sharing!
I'm scared that when I go to the back handspring when my arms touch the ground I won't be strong to keep them up
OMG DUDE I did the back throw back practice thing and I GOT THERE TYSM AND NOW I MADE THE GYMNASTICS TEAM❤️❤️✨✨
i keep getting my bhs and losing it wtf (on tumbl trak doe)
same!!!
And then I become afraid to do it again
omg Tessa Alofaituli thats exactly what happened to me!! i got it on a sunday. not perfect, but i got it. 5 hours later, attempted to do it again and was too afraid/couldnt
Practice is te one !
I did it twenty times in one day, didn't do it for a couple hours, tried to do it again and I was too scared to even try.
I can't even stand up from the bridge:(
Then you're definately not ready.
Standing up from a bridge is not necessary for a backhandspring believe in your self you can do it!
XDupful you don't need to know how to because when your in the bridge position you flip over not stand up
You just need have a back walkover and a bridge kick over
This advice is very accurate, great vid pigmie! People are always trying to go around the fear only by doing some other movement that is similar to the one they try to learn, but it's all about creating confidence! (and there are many ways to build that)
My fear is landing straight on my head
Helped a whole lot! Thanks!
My fear is landing on my hands then breaking them!! I feel like I can do it but that little thing is bothering me 😂

I did get my round off back handspring but sadly I lost it. I really want to get it back but the new year (2022) made me feel like I can’t do it. This video did help me, I am going to go to practice tomorrow and if we work on floor, I’ll try and do my back handspring.
i still have a fear so

I can do a back handspring on the trampoline but am worried about doing it on the ground because I have bad wrist and scared they will give in. I also have no one to spot me. Any tips? x
Don't do it without a spot
+Bath And Body Works ! I might just go for it haha because I've done it and a mat so I'll just do it on the grass x
I Would Get A Mattress and these are less softer that a trampoline but still bouncy then Try It On A Mat Or Yoga Mat Then On The Ground Also I Think You Should Have Someone Spot You Or Bribe Them Too😂 Hope I Helped

This is perfect timing!! I've been trying to get a back handspring everyday for the past 11 days for the 365 Parkour (Freerunning/Tricking) challenge. This months major skill that I'm trying to get down (along with the basics of Parkour) is back handsprings... aaaand I'm strugglin... xD
