      From what he described last time he's either an only child or a very distant baby sibling to people who were likely in their 40s when he was born and more "laid back" (read: easily manipulated) sort who allowed him to sharpen his con artist skills but not realize when he is failing.
      That's the one thing protecting the public, his total inability to be self aware.

      i don't remember what state this court is in but on the west coast there is NO PLACE you can get a room for $30 a night even the worst roach hotel would charge more than that...(i.e. Motel 6 here charges $60+ a night)

      You would think that's the case but this is Michigan. I looked on Priceline for three Wyndham garden hotels in Michigan, none were more than 45 a night. So 30 for a day for the whole week is probably pretty reasonable

      @@brentfarvors192 Well, he got at least 45 days of housing on the backs of the Wayne County taxpayers (the Sheriff is allowed to give 50% credit on his sentence if he behaves himself although he is not required to). Jails charge for their inmate stays in Michigan but they won't collect a dime from that guy. The judge even waived his fines and costs rather than try to collect from him. He was mesmerized by the cute judge and she sent him to jail, I wonder if he knows she is married (sorry, I had to look her bio up) or if he is going to try to date her when he gets out of jail.

      She probably would have used it against him. Some judges make exceptions for people that admit to messing up; She's not one of them! He was always getting the sentence he did. Might as well get it over with, and away from the battle axe. If allowed, she would string him along for more time than he actually received. This way, no bondsman, drug screens, tethers, or PO officers...

      I guess Judge DiSanto figured it's better to let him serve the three months in Wayne County Jail rather than trying to draw blood from a stone or to hold him in contempt (considering most misdemeanor defendants aren't sentenced directly to jail).

      There's a good chance that his MDOC probation agent is going to file a violation notice since he was sentenced in Circuit Court to 5 years probation on a felony aggravated stalking charge. The bad news: This was a Wayne County case, so I have doubts that he'll go back to prison as a result.

    Even if the atty is at a bar or restaurant, it sounds like he’d already planned vacation and then most likely got a last minute call from the court to zoom in because Mr. BrowLIE showed up in custody. Maybe poor Goldbaugh was at a Christmas party or maybe these crazy defendants ARE driving him to drink. I don’t blame him either way. It’s not like where he was at looked blatantly inappropriate or anything

    Dude has a criminal history which includes some quality time with the Michigan Department of Corrections. And he's already on a *five year active felony probation* for an aggravated stalking charge out of Wayne County after serving 30 months in MDOC custody for a Monroe County larceny in a building case.

      Maybe his parole officer will send him back to Parnall or Ionia to serve the rest of his sentence. Michigan prisons are the harshest in the nation by far, no wonder he is a crack addict after what he went through there. He may get even more free housing out of this (and unlike the county jail the MDOC usually does not charge for housing services in its prisons even if the conditions are less than comfortable).

      @@awkwardautistic are you referring to the time he was supposed to appear in question, showed up on Zoom, claimed to be in a motel, and then doubled down on when she called him out on BS? She did more for him than some judges would have - I've seen other cases when a bench warrant is immediately put out and the deputies show up before the case is even over.
      And he's not the only person to whom I'm referring: OSG's channel (best court uploads ever 🙌🏽) has plenty of repeat offenders and probation violators from which to choose.

      For the vast majority of defendants, it's not their first rodeo... and this isn't a new thing. But yeah, it's getting worse because activists have taken hold of many parts of the judicial system, from low-level positions to various state's attorney general and beyond.

      I agree dependent on circumstances, like some crimes are just one big crime and should be done that way, but they get dissected into their base components, in those circumstances I understand but when uve got a whole bunch of separate crimes on different days, I see absolutely no point in doing those concurrently, different day different circumstance, separate crime

      Consecutive sentences on misdemeanor cases are very rare in Michigan. I'm not sure if it's because of sentencing guidelines or if it's standard practice, but 93 days is probably the best Judge DiSanto can do based on the guidelines and/or court rules.
