Robbery at this level is just sad. Winning Bcone can change your career. Blond would have been on the Red Bull team traveling and being a part of the event just like all the other all stars. Unfortunate year for him with the use of the judging system.
This was the worst one of the worst Red Bull Bc One World Finals. So unprofessional Reasons: 1. Dj stopped playing because Mounir & Gravity were taking too long to battle. 2. Judging was way off in not just one but a few battles. 3. The MC swore at Taisuke, and was just being a douche to the other bboys. (not to mention the constant grunting and yelling while they were performing). 4. Lil G pretty much fell off the stage. 5. Menno after winning the World Final has one inspirational word to say 'Party'. o.o
Your 1st reason is kinda eh. The DJ plays his music so the bboys can dance to it, not for bboys to just stand around. It's a waste of good ass music if youre just gonna stand and not dance. After all, it is a bboy competition in the first place, not a standing competition.
ryanrei25 I think what he means by his first reason is that it's absurd that Mounir and Gravity were taking the piss to the point where Leanrock was told to stop the music so the MCs could reprimand the competitors. He's not blaming Leanrock, but rather more about how unprofessional Mounir and Gravity are in wasting the crowd's time. +RyanDe'Allie I don't think #4 should be a reason though. Accidents happen, even professionally. Lil G didn't have good space awareness in that moment and made a mistake, probably losing him the round and battle. Doesn't really have anything to do with the professionalism of RBBC1. #5 Actually, Menno said, 'Paris' in a French accent, which sounds like 'par-ree'. But by that point, the crowd weren't happy with that crap anyway. I was sitting in the crowd and I'm pretty sure much of what I sensed was just disappointment.
Man, Blond must have been devastated after the first round cause that was one of his best sets and of all the times he's used it, I think he executed it the most perfectly this time. Used his best set and executed it the best, but lost in the eyes of all 5 judges.
@@mobazane3655 its not just his best set. that set is objectively simply one of the dopest sets in the history of this dance. when have you EVER seen a breaker throw their hat on the floor. then do airflares to the OTHER side of the stage. then do airflares BACK. THEN GRAB THEIR HAT. and then do a 90? NEVER! super original, and super difficult. despite menno's god-level flow, he still should have lost. that's a once in a decade move.
to be honest, the old system of judging was much better as it judged a dancers whole performance, not just round for round. the new judging system does not allow for a response, nor does it allow space for a whole performance. i think that it kind of ruined the whole night as it left people unsatisfied as well as disappointed.
This power vs style debate is bullshit. Power is an element of Bboy just as much as tops footwork and freezes. Your style is what you want it do be. If you prefer to use power more over the other elements than that's your style as long as you still use the others like how blond is doing. Bboys that solely rely on footwork aren't penalized so why power bboys? What's important is that you're dancing with it and blonde definitely showed that he can dance with power. Sorry menno is good but he mainly just rolled around on the floor. The difficultly level definitely went to blonde.
Just keep it real and admit Menno's un-innovative style is what the world hate to see. Blond did have foot word and hit almost all the beats. Plus he showed diversity in a well-rounded bboy which takes years to develop and master. After all, it is still the people, the internet that determines how popular and much exposure bboy scene will get as everything moves towards internet marketing. It is a huge disgrace that this BC one somewhat damages the credibility as a legitimate tournament as a whole. People need to stop flaming the French crowd for this and that. They may be rude but they are still human just like us and are a credible audience. I can guarantee you that one more RedbullBcOne event like this and there will be no more hype. The best bboys in the world would be discouraged to even part take in this garbage event.
"Bboys who solely rely on footwork are not penalized", let me tell you why that's bullshit. Bboy Focus: Bboy Focus is largely considered the greatest footwork artist of all time. I have yet to see him win any large competition that didn't have "footwork" in the name. And it isn't even like he doesn't do power. No, the reason Menno is able to win vs. Bboys like Blond and Focus alike is because he has something neither of them do: total and absolute originality. Almost everything he does is a signature. Blond, Focus and most other top level Bboys are original in their own respects, but that mostly just comes from flipping moves that already existed. Menno on the other hand has not only come up with a style that is totally original, but a set of moves that are totally original. Menno has invented an entirely new way to break. I mean, it may not be a difficult style to perform, but it surely was an incredibly difficult style to originate.
CrispTopherOTT actually when you practice groundwork some of the crap Menno pulls are the first things you end up experimenting with. He can't do half his moves unless the floor has been oiled the fuck up too lmao
Also in these past few years I'm not a fan of having a lot of these old school bboys judge competitions like this. Yes many of them are legends but to be quite honest many of them are not in touch with up to date shit and a lot of them are still stuck in the past or have this oldschool biased mindset that footwork rules all. Sorry but many of the oldschool cats should not be judging competitions like this.
Dzengis Prentic yea thats true. Aso footwork is ine of the things that we really can call breaking, Flips existed way before, Flares comes from acrobatics etc.. but theyre aso alot powermoves that came from bboying.
lol 😂 they should be judging they deserve it and pioneered it for the future dancers. But bad call no doubt blond won. But you have to show respect for ogs
invaziq If it was the r16 system I think Blond would have taken this. Clearly much better dynamics and battle. Execution a bit better. Foundation about the same. Originality Menno a bit more. imo
When I saw this, I thought it was such a shame. I definately think blond took 2nd round and 1st was closer but moving airflares then picks up his hat without making a mistake WTF i have never seen that before. Plus Blond has such a wide reportoire of moves, he had so many amazing ones he hadn't pulled out yet such as he elbow spins, headspins, flares, airflare 1.5's, flips that he could have easily made it to finals and won. He also has style and footwork each round incorporated into his sets. But we'll never get to see in red bull just because of 2 rounds. I really think they should either use more judges and a better system like points, or double elimination, for example so that there is less human error in the judgement and determination of the best bboy. Not just this battle, there were so many other battles i thought should've been wrong or at least closer aswell. Red bull bc one, you fucked up this time.
too many e-boys these days... if you don't know why menno's round was difficult, consider that as a sign that you don't understand what he's doing. it's going way over your head...
hahah nice. i liked blond's sets but i think he was holding back too much. he would've had a much better chance to beating menno if he wasn't saving sets for the later battles.
1. He’s a dj so what he said prly doesnt matter. 2. He said both very high level, I don’t see a problem with that. 3. That’s a hollow back not a hand stand 4. That transition into it with a little burn is smooth af. 5. Try it urself and see if u can do it as clean, or even manage to do it at all.
@@cloud8639 1. True. 2. Yeah, didn't catch it 3 years ago. Thought he just said "high level" :D 3. That's not a hollow back. That's a handstand. 4. "Transition into it"? What do you mean? 5. Sure, I can do the handstand since I was like... 5yo? Regarding the hollow back... Like I said, it's not a hollow back :X
@@MGradowskiTrip Except it literally is a hollow back. He's using his core, shoulder and back muscles to hold his body in a bridge position without his head or feet touching. His head and shoulders are pushed back releative to his hands while legs are forward, making his body go from a straight line up-to-down to being held at an angle. If you pause the video, you can see the curve in his back lol.
Finally a lot of people have noticed how big of a cheat Red Bull BC One is. They don't appreciate power moves and rather vote for boring footwork etc. Hitting powermoves on beat is the hardest thing in Bboying.
Its funny I thought Menno lost this battle but I am pretty much cool with all the later battles that he won, he deserved those wins. But in this one I think Blond showed just a little more. But I still found it funny how the internet crapped themselves when all their favorites got eliminate hahahah, Congrats to Menno :D
jean paul flores cama planned event? so they planned to have most of the red bull allstars out in the first round? they planned to have all the french b-boys out in the first round when the event was in france? they planned to have the most un-flashy un-marketable b-boy win the whole event? Why would they plan that? If they were gonna plan anything they were gonna plan not to do that lol, Menno won because thats what happend that day. If it was another day other people would have won.
Luka Mladin Lol totally agree! I pooped my pants too! Menno is a very good bboy but Blond for sure put out more. I can see why Menno wasn't as tired as the other bboys. His style is very complex and focuses heavily on staying and moving around the floor which really saves him energy. If another bboy had sloppy powermoves of course I would choose Menno but Blond was on point with his powermoves and although his freezes were a little slow it was to be on beat.
Red Bull BC One is becoming corrupt. I think they eliminated the ex-champs because they want new champs and they know that one of them (Hong 10) would win another belt.
Bullshits... How could you think hong 10 is gonna get another win. Everybody knows what he is doing since 10 years - few moves same things every time ... I dont get impress myself when I am watching him ! Mounir for me is still not that level for winning some big competition like Red bull BC one finals compare with Thesis for example.... !! Blond was good yea but first round versus Menno - not easy for both so we need one winner that`s it. Menno`s style is so original and has flow, he is getting advance every year and has a lot of moves that he even didn`t use at this finals...
invaziq umm his style is not original. Study the world of dance, and if u look in the right places u will no its not OG. Its old and tired. But new for him.
It's easy to think that Blond won if you're looking at this battle purely in terms of dynamics & difficulty without any deeper knowledge or first-hand experience in breaking culture. Most of Blond's movements, airflares, airchairs, are not original movements. Menno has brought a lot to the game in terms of creating original sequences of moves & bringing a unique character & presence to his dance, which is what this breaking shit is about in the first place - Style, Originality, Creativity, Character. These judges all have their own opinions based on ten, twenty-plus years in the game. The fact that you disagree with their opinion doesn't mean that there's some conspiracy at work, that BC One is a whack event, that the judges were paid off, etc. Maybe there are just certain aspects of this dance that you're just not ready to understand yet.
i disagree. I love menno and his originality, i've been dancing for 10 years and i was there in Paris, Blonde took that hands down, he won dynamics execution and foundation too.
If you think Blond is only dynamics and difficulty, you are the one who needs to look deeper into this dance. I understand his moves are impressive and it distracts you from judging his dance accurately. A lot of people, even OGs, are easily mislead by dynamics in this way. Its a shame really.
I felt like Blond was more rounded in the first round and hit the beats. He put more in the round than just air flares, he showed musicality and foundation along with his own variation of freeze power move combos. Menno flowed and showed originality, but the arsenal that he gave consisted of a weak set of footwork, followed by 3 shoulder rolls than a roll back hollow back. Than he followed it with his version of windmills, which reminded me of someone who almost had tap windmills but used their legs for support. Overall I felt that Menno, although having more originality, didn't show enough variation and difficulty to beat Blond. I feel like that after Blond lost the first round, his disbelief led him to giving a half hearted effort in the second round, where I think Menno did win. For all the other rounds that Menno would go on to win, I have no quarrel about those. This is the only round with Menno in it that I felt the judges were very bias in their approach. This is just my opinion though...
Giovanni Cadore First of all, this isn't the OUR System, so your categories mean next to nothing. Second, if you think Blond has a stronger foundation than Menno, I don't need to hear any more.
Normally I dont care enough to comment or dislike, but this just blows my mind away. How can the judges not vote blond in both rounds. I've seen many robbes, but this one is just something else.
Blond took this. very clean and flowed nice with very complex moves. menno is a great bboy no doubt, that hollowback was hella dope, but his rounds were not up to par with blonds. power, style, blowups, it doesn't matter what you do. its what you can make out of what you do. to the 1,215 people who disliked this video and agree with me on the fact that blond was robbed, im sure you will also agree that the new judging system is complete shit. I prefer year before lasts BC1 camera angles over this judging. and that's saying something xD
This BC One was also terribly different because the judges were primarily "Style" judges except for Bboy The End. They're like "If he does a move that I've seen before, I'm not voting for him." Blond did some common powermoves, except for the traveling air flare, but they were all clean as glass. Even though Menno had his own completely different thing, the difficulty level wasn't Roxrite difficulty to beat out Blond. He basically rolled around alot. R16 treated Blond so much better than BC One.

What do you mean battle? Didn't you see how Menno managed to call him out during the set? Whereas Blond barely even acknowledged that there was an opponent
People need to understand: When you do styles instead of powermoves, you can be more clean and more on beat. But only because you are doing the more easy moves. Powermoves are simply way harder than doing some sixstep variations. I don't know why judges don't appreciate this.
I'm really shocked even if it's been long time. In my opinion Blond clearly won the second round. He didn't deserve this treatment. He wrote part of the history of breaking with his crew. He won some of the most important breaking competions in the world for years. BC ONE is all about advertisement and money.
so wack to show the scoring after each round, completely destroys the flow of the battle when the bboys stop to look up at the scoring.. they should just always go 3 rounds and show how the judges scored at the end of the battle for the sake of judging transparency but not show it after each goddamn round..
My suggestion is to go two rounds and see if there's a winner. If the score is 2-0, then proceed to next battle. If the score is 1-1, then both bboys know the stakes and will go for that last round. No need to run the competitors out of good sets for later rounds if there's no need to.
People who say Menno shouldn't win because he doesn't incorporate power into his style are either beginner bboys or have never danced before, what menno does is very diffucult, menno basically can go (or roll lol) forever without seeming repetitive, he has found his original way of moving and freestyling, people also need to realize that a bboy competitive life is very short , you have like 10 years (more or less) and then it's over (you can still dance forever, but i am yet to see a 40 years old bboy win a bc one), the point is, during that short very period of time, you have to find your style and develop it to the max, infortunately there isn't enough time to be The best at every thing (Power, Footwork, Flow, Creativity, Musicality...) every element of bboying is a infinite universe to explore, ONE Little footwork concept can be expanded into 1000's of moves and transitions, equally , any power move, abstract concept, transition can be infinitely played with too, at the end of the day, it all comes down to your own preferences, taste, phililosophy, physical strenghts and weaknesses , Personally, i would rather see someone be Exceptional at one of the elements and Mark his ERA with an amazing unique contribution to the Scene, rather than see a generic bboy who can do a bit of everything but doesnt excel at anything, a can do everything bboy is fun to watch, but an original bboy is a true artist who will be Remembered forever.
Blond is like 38, and probably was the most complete bboy at this jam. Alkolil is an example of a powermover because he does nothing else. And pls, Menno repeats everything over and over, actually watch what he does. It's not flow if that's all you can do...
carpetburn Hi there, actually blond is only 30 years old, he was 29 last year and was in sytycd australia 2014 (which has an age limit of 30), they also mentioned that his is 30 when he did his TED show.. i don't see alkolil as a powermover, alcolil is on his way to become unique, he does have a personal touch and has some unique transitions and many signature moves, he is a bit of a flow dancer too but more explosive than menno and uses more levels (air work, ground work, power work..), menno flows mostly on the ground but does it really well.. try to watch closely, his moves are similar but most of them are not repeats, however since you brought repeating to the discussion, i believe you absolutely need to repeat in order to define your style, a style is a pattern of unique rythm + small signature repeats that makes it unique, think of it like LOCKING, if you watch any Locker, he can be as creative as he wants, but has to LOCK and he must point his fingers every now and then or otherwise it won't be considered LOCKING, think of it like uprocking or top rocking, you can be as creative as you want, but you always need to comeback and do an indian step every now and then or a Battle rock step, it's the Same thing when you are trying to put your unique STYLE on the map as a bboy, you have to repeat the Motions elements that are the foundation of your unique style , reasonably of course.. but it has to be done.
if you think the system is at fault, you don't understand how it works. even with the usual system, blond and menno would've gone one more round BUT the result would've still been the same. three of the five judges already agreed that menno won the first two rounds, blond couldn't have come back from that, round-wise. if you want to blame someone, blame the judges. or more specifically, blame the people that picked the judges. you can't expect the judges to pick the winner against their instincts. i think luigi was the most level-headed judge on the panel. i agree with his and the end's assessment that menno won the first round and blonde won the second. based on the styles of the other three judges, i can see why they would pick menno for round 2. i think the lesson learned is that bboys, particularly those across multiple generations and eras of bboying, will have a variety of preferences and qualities that they look for in judging, while all the casual "bboys" that watch youtube videos from their computer have one hive-like mind when it comes to preferences and judging, and that often involves powermoves and blowups.. and i say that as an exbboy and current casual bboy..
lol cool story bro. did you hear, menno is the red bull bc one 2014 champ? doesn't really matter what you think. props to all the bboys that competed. it is what it is.. grow up.
obtsfan i watched bc one. blond absolutely won but he got robbed so hard and listen to the crowds at the end you idiot they all thought that blond won. it was the very first time crowds say "boo" at someone in bc one
Dalai Superwockee Guy puts down some reasonable, unbiased talk and you just yell like a moron. I think I know who I respect more. Then again, your name is an amalgam of crews you probably saw on America's Best Dance Crew, so I should have already known you're a dumbass who doesn't know what he's watching.
Dalai Superwockee i feel like i'm debating against a religious fanatic. saying that "blond absolutely won but he got robbed so hard" over and over won't make it true. it doesn't matter what the crowd thinks either. bc one is the MOST mainstreamed bboying event in the world. it will have the LEAST knowledgeable audience and online viewers out of all the bboying events. the opinions of the audience mean even less than usual. many of them are probably just there for an entertaining night of "breakdancing." are you suggesting that we get rid of judges and have battles decided by a public vote? that's a great way to destroy the bboy culture. instead of assuming that all these nameless people online (including yourself) think that blond won, maybe you should take this as a hint that you and all the other nameless bboys are looking at bboying wrong and that the judges actually know something that you don't. you know, since they are bboying legends and all.
Blond took that no doubt. All odds were stacked against him in this judging and battle system. The judges were mainly style based judges and on top of the the new system doesn't work. It's a broken judging system that needs to be fixed. The old OUR system worked better than the undisputed. One thing I hate the most about the new system is that you see your score before the battle is even over. Do they understand how much that fuks up the flow of the bboy? it completely demoralizes one bboy and promotes the other. That's a huge flaw that needs to be fixed immediately if competition was ever to be fair. In the end everyone's battling the system. If the first bboy went out first with a very strong first round, as a bboy going second, I would purposefully give him that round and destroy him with a strong second round. A bboy battle shouldn't be like this. I've completely lost hope for all major bboy competitions that uses such systems.
I won't say that the judges are shitty. You'll have to hit the books and study about the judge panel/etc before you criticize the judge panel my friend. I can't say that I admired this year's BCOne battle, especially this one.
seymourglass26 Hes original, hes got lots of interesting stuff. Nicely tailored style. It takes a lot of work to develop this man. I dont want to discredit his stuff at all. But if we are talking about the difficulty of his moves, its nothing special.
I don't think that Menno's moves are extremely difficult. Yet, try to execute them with Menno's flow...now, that's difficult! Or, try to invent such moves and to combine them so as to create an original bboy style...now, that's even more difficult!
Blond sloopy and slow? Sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Blond performs his powermoves with good speed. If he did slow down it was to hit his moves on beat. He was clean this battle compared to his other battles.
Mit Mit The most ignorant, general audiences don't like the outcome, so the experts are wrong? Real talk, eboys and random fans at a corporate competition (not a bboy jam) aren't the most credible observers. Remember they also thought Lilou won after he got destroyed in his first battle.
seymourglass26 nah listen only 2014 was the most dislike year and there's more dislike than like this year why dont they boo in seoul korea last year or any others year ? huh ?
At the first set, when judges show the screen of result, all i can think is :" WTF???" Where's the fair to Blond ? Who's said that Blond only has power move??He mix all the style very nice , i cant believe it :(
People saying menno is more bboy style dont understand blond been breaking about as long as menno been alive on this earth. Blond knows more about this dance in his sleep than menno
Menno was on his back the whole event, I barely saw any footworks and power from him, all I saw was going to his back then to back spins, change directions and going to his back again. I understand blond for being upset, there should have been at least 3rd round
Bruh, he is a non stop bboy ok, but its just that. It's great to see him flow, but he is only that. His moves individually aren't difficult, the interesting thing is the way he combines them and all. However, he only spams that, that's the only thing he can do, it's great but he ain't complete and he lacks of dynamics and attitude
Okay, but Blond is doing moves that literally nobody can do, plus the fact he hits beats better than Menno. Menno rarely uses music in his floorwork because its all about flow. Menno also has a style where its very hard to see any slips because you can just flow into your next sequences. Blond sticks freezes, zero room for error. Its why Menno always wins, because being low to the floor means u can't tell if he messed up, also means Menno takes less risks on moves. You rarely see him stick any freezes or do any flares. I have been saying this from the start, he is not the greatest bboy, not even close. He can't do not even 10% of what Hong10 does, or Wing, nonetheless Blond. Bur he somehow has 3 championships. Not because he is the best, but because he doesn't takes risks and therefore can't slip.
For one part the bc one 2014 was a fail. Blong take it vs menno. Luan took it vs taisuké And Hong10 vs Victor All these battle was In an incorrect judge
To people who support Menno and try to explain for him: 1. Did you hear the crowd don't like the decision at all? (At least give a 3rd round?) 2. Have you ever seen a Redbull BC One vedio on TH-cam has 5 times more dislikes than likes? (170 likes, 882 dislikes right now) Compared to previous years, decisions this year seem really biased.
+Lin Zhenyu Menno truly brought something new to the table. And why does the crowd need to have a say? Suddenly, a random person who knows nothing about the dance but has the money to purchase a ticket has a say in our community? And because there are MORE hobby bboys than expert ones. Powermoves are flashy and easy to understand, which is why people who knows nothing about the dance always asks dancers if they can headspin or do airflares. Menno brought 100% originality and beautiful flow. Admittedly, some judges may be biased against or favor some styles and certain aspects of the dance, but don't you think they would know more than we do? This is what they do. Thoughts?
@@qwertyasdf4984 no. i was there. we were all bboys. i went there with my bboys friends myself. Breaking it down with our system shows that this was a robbery. end of the story

I agree dude, the MC just doesn't shut up, honestly couldn't hear the fucking music with his owl screams every few seconds. A few battles were complete robberies too. 1st time I've EVER heard the crowd boo in a red bull bc one event, insane.
George Maslin Totally agree and people are complaining about a dead crowd! MC sucked and bboys got robbed! I would be too shock to cheer but boo as well!
What the hell? I was there and the crowd was hype. I was trying to film the battles and every so often, my camera would be blocked because the crowd got to its feet to cheer. Everyone in the place loved the music, you could see people in the crowd rocking to it, not just the competitors. Sorry, but maybe it wasn't good for you if you weren't there, but the crowd was most certainly not dead. Especially if you can hear the boos. If you call that a dead crowd, then I don't know what's running through your mind.
Have to agree with the huge DISLIKES so therefore had to press the dislike to increase the dislike bar. Can't help it that Menno won. Of course he's dope with his dance moves, but Blond gave it all man. He did everything and went all out, start out strong, was smooth, clean, had power, style, freeze. Like I said just about everything....and still lost. It's like he wasted his time and did his best for nothing.
Steliz If I may say so myself, Blond displayed all of that. (In my opinion), he perfectly displayed all of those elements. Whilst all we can see in Menno, is flow. Just. Flow. A don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to be a judge.
Gachman flows? flows?? he do the same shit on every battle, just a variation of shoulder rolls and you call that flows? not to forget he didnt hit any of those beats. what flows?
Gachman The whole dance is art, what Hong 10 does, what Blond does, even what a beginner does is. This also is. It's the difference between two bboys and in many people's opinion, Blond should've won, or taken at least one round.
Wtf is going on. Clearly dynamic, technicality. Power, originality, blonde took. Menno stuck the VERY basics like back rolling and cc variations. I was also watching menno vs taisuke and the first round waa clear robbery.

I really think that Menno deserves a lot of respect and he was pretty nice in every single battle after this one. But, c'mon Blond took this one!
This was the worst one of the worst Red Bull Bc One World Finals. So unprofessional
Reasons:
I thought it was right for lean rock to stop the music, I mean they're kind of insulting him by standing around while he plays for three minutes
ryanrei25
I think what he means by his first reason is that it's absurd that Mounir and Gravity were taking the piss to the point where Leanrock was told to stop the music so the MCs could reprimand the competitors. He's not blaming Leanrock, but rather more about how unprofessional Mounir and Gravity are in wasting the crowd's time.
+RyanDe'Allie
I don't think #4 should be a reason though.
The Long Story Yeah that's it. 100% agree.
your reasons are stupid, but funny lol

Most unfair competition in red bull bc one history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! worst competition in red bull bc one history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to be honest, the old system of judging was much better as it judged a dancers whole performance, not just round for round.
the new judging system does not allow for a response, nor does it allow space for a whole performance. i think that it kind of ruined the whole night as it left people unsatisfied as well as disappointed.
"Un-innovative"
Fucking loled.
Jason, stick around some more dude, and look at everything.
Sorry but many of the oldschool cats should not be judging competitions like this.
princeaferd yup although it's kinda dis respectful but it's true. bboy today are way different
Dzengis Prentic yea thats true. Aso footwork is ine of the things that we really can call breaking, Flips existed way before, Flares comes from acrobatics etc.. but theyre aso alot powermoves that came from bboying.

If it was the r16 system I think Blond would have taken this.

3:19 Judges are blind or what?!
Foundation is also musicality and yes unfortunately this is not the OUR system! Otherwise blond would have won

I like how the decision was so fuckin bad that people leave comments every single week on this even 9 years later😂
Why The End voted for Menno in 1st round😮?
Because he is not breaking
This BC One was also terribly different because the judges were primarily "Style" judges except for Bboy The End. They're like "If he does a move that I've seen before, I'm not voting for him." Blond did some common powermoves, except for the traveling air flare, but they were all clean as glass. Even though Menno had his own completely different thing, the difficulty level wasn't Roxrite difficulty to beat out Blond. He basically rolled around alot. R16 treated Blond so much better than BC One.

He wrote part of the history of breaking with his crew. so wack to show the scoring after each round, completely destroys the flow of the battle when the bboys stop to look up at the scoring.. they should just always go 3 rounds and show how the judges scored at the end of the battle for the sake of judging transparency but not show it after each goddamn round..

It's not flow if that's all you can do...
carpetburn Hi there, actually blond is only 30 years old, he was 29 last year and was in sytycd australia 2014 (which has an age limit of 30), they also mentioned that his is 30 when he did his TED show.. i don't see alkolil as a powermover, alcolil is on his way to become unique, he does have a personal touch and has some unique transitions and many signature moves, he is a bit of a flow dancer too but more explosive than menno and uses more levels (air work, ground work, power work..), menno flows mostly on the ground but does it really well.. try to watch closely, his moves are similar but most of them are not repeats, however since you brought repeating to the discussion, i believe you absolutely need to repeat in order to define your style, a style is a pattern of unique rythm + small signature repeats that makes it unique, think of it like LOCKING, if you watch any Locker, he can be as creative as he wants, but has to LOCK and he must point his fingers every now and then or otherwise it won't be considered LOCKING, think of it like uprocking or top rocking, you can be as creative as you want, but you always need to comeback and do an indian step every now and then or a Battle rock step, it's the Same thing when you are trying to put your unique STYLE on the map as a bboy, you have to repeat the Motions elements that are the foundation of your unique style , reasonably of course.. but it has to be done.
carpetburn You didn't say a single correct thing in your comment. That is impressive.
Anybody here after Killa Kolya vs menno? The second worst robbery happened in bc one history
if you think the system is at fault, you don't understand how it works. even with the usual system, blond and menno would've gone one more round BUT the result would've still been the same. three of the five judges already agreed that menno won the first two rounds, blond couldn't have come back from that, round-wise.
if you want to blame someone, blame the judges. or more specifically, blame the people that picked the judges. you can't expect the judges to pick the winner against their instincts.
i think luigi was the most level-headed judge on the panel. i agree with his and the end's assessment that menno won the first round and blonde won the second. based on the styles of the other three judges, i can see why they would pick menno for round 2.
i think the lesson learned is that bboys, particularly those across multiple generations and eras of bboying, will have a variety of preferences and qualities that they look for in judging, while all the casual "bboys" that watch youtube videos from their computer have one hive-like mind when it comes to preferences and judging, and that often involves powermoves and blowups.. and i say that as an exbboy and current casual bboy..
just STFU BLOND WON!
lol cool story bro. did you hear, menno is the red bull bc one 2014 champ? doesn't really matter what you think. props to all the bboys that competed. it is what it is.. grow up.
obtsfan i watched bc one. blond absolutely won but he got robbed so hard and listen to the crowds at the end you idiot they all thought that blond won. it was the very first time crowds say "boo" at someone in bc one
SHITTY JUDGES
But very good music
Good job lean rock ;)
Dj lean rock is the MvP
u still dont understand whats real breaking :)
I won't say that the judges are shitty. You'll have to hit the books and study about the judge panel/etc before you criticize the judge panel my friend. I can't say that I admired this year's BCOne battle, especially this one.
@@bboysunniez93 oh shut up menno fanboy
This battle was a lot closer than what judges made it out to be I think, well done to both bboys
All of you saying Menno just rolls around on the floor, try some of his moves some time. You might be surprised .
Menno admitted he cannot do hard, demanding stuff.... Like he himself says its not physicly difficult... Just take his word for it.
FloMonKish I'd rather try things to find out whether they're difficult or not rather than take someone's word fort it. Try the moves, they're hard.
FloMonKish Yeah, Menno being humble means that anyone can win BC One without dropping a round. Totally.
seymourglass26
Hes original, hes got lots of interesting stuff.
It's funny because most of you all don't even know what Menno is doing.
u mean u know what he is doing?please share"something"to me,eboy
Really wished there was a third round, Blond deserved that at least. Whether he would have won the battle we'd never know but would have been nice.
Blond took it. Judges were blind at this!
Jamás comento las batallas pero... Ésta sí se salió del límite de corrupción.
FUCKING JUDGES
Blond Win!!!
Peace for all
Im the only one who thinks Blond was kinda sloopy and slow?
Menno was ok not that good but ok
Sad cause Blonda was the favourite for this BCOne
Blond sloopy and slow? Sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Blond performs his powermoves with good speed. If he did slow down it was to hit his moves on beat. He was clean this battle compared to his other battles.
You must be blind. The internet dislike this the crowd was boooooooo all the way.
Mit Mit The most ignorant, general audiences don't like the outcome, so the experts are wrong? Real talk, eboys and random fans at a corporate competition (not a bboy jam) aren't the most credible observers. Remember they also thought Lilou won after he got destroyed in his first battle.
seymourglass26 nah listen only 2014 was the most dislike year and there's more dislike than like this year why dont they boo in seoul korea last year or any others year ? huh ?
Yes i think you are the only XD
At the first set, when judges show the screen of result, all i can think is :" WTF???"
Where's the fair to Blond ? Who's said that Blond only has power move??He mix all the style very nice , i cant believe it :(
People saying menno is more bboy style dont understand blond been breaking about as long as menno been alive on this earth. Blond knows more about this dance in his sleep than menno
1:25 = Very high level bro
1:40 = Bitch, please!!!!
1:40 Many bboys far from the bc one level know how to do it.
@@Moha-sr7nk Maybe, but it's the uniqueness and creativity of blond what really counts.
Other battles had robberies , not this one. This was a heist lol
Menno was on his back the whole event, I barely saw any footworks and power from him, all I saw was going to his back then to back spins, change directions and going to his back again. I understand blond for being upset, there should have been at least 3rd round
I'm surprised even The End voted for Menno, even though he's a powermover himself.
+Philosopher As an established powermover, the tendency is to judge against it to send a message that you are not biased. Its just a political tactic.
Menno well deserves his victory. His movements are complicated and clean, he's quirky and uses monstrous combos with maddening changes of direction.
HOLY FUCKING FUCK @ Blonds first set.... I haven't even finished the video but I had to pause and comment.
mennos first round was dope as hell, but i think it was a lot closer than a 5-0..
For one part the bc one 2014 was a fail. Blong take it vs menno.
Luan took it vs taisuké
And Hong10 vs Victor
All these battle was In an incorrect judge
a redbull mais roubada de todos os tempos!
Most controversial Red Bull BC One Match ever
To people who support Menno and try to explain for him:
1. Did you hear the crowd don't like the decision at all? (At least give a 3rd round?)
2. Have you ever seen a Redbull BC One vedio on TH-cam has 5 times more dislikes than likes? (170 likes, 882 dislikes right now)
Compared to previous years, decisions this year seem really biased.
+bboy Nin yeah it's not like they're the ones actually in the battles instead of watching it
+Lin Zhenyu Menno truly brought something new to the table. Thoughts?
+Max Chang In my opinion, most of crowd are bboying ,or why did they purchase a ticket which is not cheap?
@@aneh1_yj No. i was there. we were all bboys and that was a robbery. If you have other doubts look at the dislike rate.
@@qwertyasdf4984 no. i was there. we were all bboys. i went there with my bboys friends myself. Breaking it down with our system shows that this was a robbery. end of the story
strong and Clean ,ฺBlond is my legend
worst red bull bc one by far ,mc suck, the system of judge really dissapointme, judge made really bad desicion and also my man lean rock why did u not put better beat this is one of the top event in bboy so the beat need to be good bboy need to feel it.FINNELY WHERE WAS THE CROWD ? ?
I agree dude, the MC just doesn't shut up, honestly couldn't hear the fucking music with his owl screams every few seconds. A few battles were complete robberies too. 1st time I've EVER heard the crowd boo in a red bull bc one event, insane.
George Maslin
Totally agree and people are complaining about a dead crowd!
What the crap judges!!! Are they all blind ? It's not only unfair but really hurt every Bboy's heart...Damn
u are blind cz u cant see what menno was doing, u only see the dynamic moves, not the flow, creativity, musicality......
Steliz If I may say so myself, Blond displayed all of that. (In my opinion), he perfectly displayed all of those elements. Whilst all we can see in Menno, is flow. Just. Flow. A don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to be a judge.
+Steliz difficulty?blond did not lost what u said "bboy element"at all
Blondie Got Robbie Robbed
2020 e ainda vejo para ter certeza kkkkk
2023
2024😂
All opinions aside, what pants are Blond wearing? Those are pretty dope, not gonna lie.
Eu vi o tanto de dislike que tinha kkkjkj
Uma pena o TH-cam ter tirado
Lembro de 2014, aí que começou a cagar tudo, com menno ganhando tudo roubado
I do not like unfair judge!!
Flow wins over power moves anyday
Gachman flows? flows?? he do the same shit on every battle, just a variation of shoulder rolls and you call that flows? not to forget he didnt hit any of those beats. what flows?
Not Another Channel Name Hahahaha exactly! Way too overrated bboy
Not Another Channel Name Hahahaha exactly! Way too overrated bboy
***** Not overrated... just showing variations... having some move you can switch and move the order back and fort... that is art...
Gachman The whole dance is art, what Hong 10 does, what Blond does, even what a beginner does is. This also is. It's the difference between two bboys and in many people's opinion, Blond should've won, or taken at least one round.
Red Bull BC One is starting to become like FIFA
Wtf is going on. Clearly dynamic, technicality. Power, originality, blonde took. Menno stuck the VERY basics like back rolling and cc variations. I was also watching menno vs taisuke and the first round waa clear robbery.
Two dancers faces, crowd responds, and replies tell same thing except the five judges. Were these judges in other world?
