As he got into his truck, she tried to get in with him as she called to her accomplices in a car to come. He shoved her to the ground and drove off.
If he had listened to her sob story and let her in, he may have been killed for his truck and cargo. He had many similar stories like this.
No. It's not heartless. It's being cautious and staying safe. It's not the same world we live in anymore. She could have had people waiting for a home owner to let her in as they ambush their way in.
She was holding a phone. She could dial 911 at anytime for help instead on knocking on doors at 5am.

About a week ago a guy showed up on our front cameras. He rang the doorbell, we asked what he wanted. He said "I'm just going to keep nightwatch for you". We said -um, ok, WE will bring you breakfast in the morning. He left us a note that said "Thank you for being so kind to me".
