    From my research you would be better off cutting all those leaves in half too. Will allow more energy to go into rooting

    You shouldn't use the rooting hormone straight from the jar. Diseases will transfer from one cutting to another dipping from same container.

    That particular type of Magnolia is an evergreen, it doesn't lose its leaves unless it's dead. In other words those leaves are not coming back that plant is dead.

      It actually shot a new shoot out of the roots with three new leaves but the original stem is dead.
