as a Russell fan, i want these loses to come in early in the regular seasons so he's seeing every possible scheme that other teams might use in playoff. Russell will make adjustments accordingly. Great video.
Arizona already practices against Murray, so Wilson is nothing they don't see in practice. Arizona is a horrible matchup for Seattle. Will be for years to come.
@@DIVISIONINCISION the thing is Russ is on a whole another level than murry Russ is more than just a scrambler throws the best deep ball as dangerous as any qb outside of the pocket and can read defenses he's a hall of fame qb. Murray is faster than than russ but cards playing Russ and murry are different they are similar but Russ is on another level
I don't buy that Murray can replicate everything Wilson does. Murray doesn't process everything quite as quickly as Wilson, and while he does have great arm talent, I'm not sure his deep accuracy is on the same level as Wilson's; Rodgers is really the only other one in NFL history that puts the ball that squarely on the mark that deep with any consistency. Even Mahomes isn't _that_ accurate downfield as often as Wilson is.

Great breakdown of film you earned my sub and I love the way you described everything and gave Vance Joseph credit but didn’t let russel look bad and still have him credit because he did have a hell of a game I’m an az fan from as Been a az fan for ever and that game was crazy had me super anxious thanks for the great content
Mastermind second half by Vance Joseph! Thank you for the video! I would like to add that the amount of blitzing at the end + the disguise + how Russel was getting hit too too much were all factors for him throwing the ball so quickly on the last pass as neither of his receivers looked ready to catch the ball anyways... completely fooled but it was a great game by him anyways
Excellent content. Add one subscriber. I'd be interested to see s video on the Ravens blitzes. PFF constantly talks about how they blitz and throw men at the hot route and id love to see that broken down.
As a Seahawks fan, this was a great video, so thanks for this. Now the question is, if you were in Schotty's position as the Seahawk's OC, how would you counter such sneaky blitz package?
Amoeba packages like that don't really have a natural counter once you start incorporating wide blitzes. Takes too long for the o-line to adjust, and you have no way of knowing where the pressure is coming from, so line audibles are out of the question. The only thing I could think of is quick concepts designed to pull the remaining defenders away from the play; maybe mesh or levels concepts, with a screen thrown in every now and again to keep the LBs honest.
He started the season really poorly - it seemed like maybe he was having trouble picking up the scheme. He only played 5 snaps in this game too, damn good 5 snaps though.
0 - 6 - 5 for the win... There is a huge disadvantage to this... only a matter of time before they run the ball on this if we have no down linemen... This will not work again and will only work on obvious passing downs... honestly this is how you would attack Murray, ironically
The best way to beat this form of blitz/disguise is to get the ball to the boundary as fast as possible. If a team wants to line up 4 guys inside the Tackles, then quick screens, jet sweeps and wide tosses use the defenders position against them as they cant take good enough angles to get to the sideline. (Wide tosses might only work at lower level football as NFL backers are ridiculously fast)
They never stopped Murray from picking up 1st downs from scrambling. Seriously, did you watch the game? No team can stop him from scrambling for yards.
@@DIVISIONINCISION that was the 2nd half..... The first half they had him they stopped him on 4th down in the endzone and stopped him trying to run it. Did you even watch the game, the 2nd half yeah
Ahh no they primarily use a 5-2 package, the same ones bill belicheck and Nick saban have used or do use, it's just he hybridized that plays by putting a safety in the box...
Even if he's having a good day - You're choosing to try win the game with your crappy defense over your elite talent at QB. Makes no sense to me from a coaching perspective
Cool breakdowns. Arizona should not have won that game and yet they did. The Hawks shot themselves in the foot with critical penalties that allowed Arizona to hang around and they can be dangerous when they aren’t pressured much. RIP 6-0 record but I guess we still see that Russell Wilson is insanely good and Seattle is almost destined to carve teams out this year if their defense can be a bit more formidable.
@@LOGANTUBE08 highly doubt it. And remember that Seattle actually has an injury riddled team. They will have Jamal Adams back and a more defined LEO pass rusher with Carlos Dunlap in the fold next time and that’s a major change for Seattle. Again, the Cardinals did enough that if Seattle got sloppy they had a chance to win. That’s exactly what happened. Arizona won’t see the same mistakes from Seattle - not likely anyways. I mean they just carved up the 49ers today and the 49ers have a more stout defense than Arizona. I’d be shocked if Seattle lost twice to Arizona this year. I’d gladly put money on Seattle winning the rematch because Seattle gave the game away and they’re likely going to be healthier next time. Wilson hadn’t thrown 3 picks in nearly 3 years so you’d have to expect that to happen twice against Arizona for them to win again. Also, Chris Carson should be back and good to go (he missed 3 Qs of that game).
@@thisistheslam The Cards just picked up Markus Golden. Even losing their best defensive player, Chandler Jones, for the season, the Cards confused Seattle's line and Russell Wilson late in the game with the blitz schemes, something they did not do any of in the first half. Take away Kyler's INT, he was just about flawless all game long and was the best player on the field in the game. What's scary is that we haven't even seen the best of him yet. Kyler has the highest ceiling out of all current QBs in the NFL.
@@LOGANTUBE08 Confused is a strong word and it was only for a small handful of plays. Seattle actually countered that “confusion” and should have won the game in OT with DK’s TD run that got called back for a hold that didn’t really change the play (but it’s agreeable that it was called properly). I’m sorry but you can have your opinion but Seattle will only be better and they are better than Arizona. It’s not something you have to like but that’s the deal. More talent on offense, and a defense that showed it’s not incoherent after holding SF down 4 quarters (until the end in garbage time where SF picked up 14 points when the game was over). If I’m wrong in the future then I’m wrong, but I don’t see how AZ sneaks out a W in the 2nd matchup when Seattle had their number all game and have to commit self-inflicted mistakes for Arizona to get into the game late. Seriously, you are ignoring that fact. Seattle made mistakes that had nothing to do with AZ’s play that enabled the team to stick around. Seattle beats AZ in the rematch 37-21 next time is my guess, assuming Seattle doesn’t suffer major injuries to other key players.
@@thisistheslam It's quite clear what we are doing here. Fanboys sometimes can be blinded by the reality of things. Yes, it's was a clear penalty on the hold but if there was no hold, DK would have been clearly knocked out of bounds. No TD on that play no matter how you spin it. Being a Cards fan and not taking anything away from DK's rundown on Baker, I know for a fact that Buddah took his foot off the gas in the last stretch of his runback pick 6 because players should never ever turn their heads to look back at the defenders giving chase. You lose momentum when are are at full speed. Should have been an AZ touchdown but let's assume he did get ran down fair n' square. The Cards had their opportunity to kick the FG instead of going for the TD on 4th down that would have gave them the win in regulation but let's assume that he would have missed the easy chipshot and they went to OT no matter what. Gonzalez misses a game winning FG opportunity, and in my eyes, the Cards had more mistakes than the Seahawks but those mistakes will become less and less as this season goes on and Young Kyler will only get better and better, and so will the D. It's extremely hard to see the Cards go backwards after this game and the bye week gives them the opportunity to get some injured players ready for next weekend. AZ is undefeated vs the NFC West which at this point gives them a nice edge nearing the end of the regular season.

It took Russel throwing 3 picks and not converting a 3rd and 2 in ot for them to win. They didn't confuse him he had an off day
If Carson or Homer never get hurt, this never happens.
You are just seeing them use the kind of formations as a 3-4 because of the offense opponent they were playing.
