Was it hard to roll up with extra self inflating mattress the 1st few times? I just did mine and it only just done up tge straps and just fits back in the bag
I have read a lot of reviews on the Darche swags and while the tent part gets a good review there are many reviews that say the poles are inferior quality and too many are experiencing broken poles. What's more, apparently the Darche warranty does not cover the poles.
Yep. I'm pissed that on the very first set up the head pole snapped on the bend. Definitely too wide for the shape of the tent and required pressure at which point the bend just snapped in half. Now about to have to chase up why the poles don't look like the straight sided poles in the tutorials. Mine look flat and splayed out. Annoying that I need to worry about this upon purchase days before I leave for camping.
considering one of these atm, one concern is if it rains and looking at the base of the swag, the canvass goes all the way to the bottom where most have at least 40cm of a plastic tub? im changing from a more traditional double swag as theres no real height on e inside so taking and putting on clothes is a pain, how much headroom is there? tia
I was nearly going to buy a Dirty Dee until I noticed the smaller window only Velcro’s down (no zipper)...I’d always be worried that if I was using it during a bad windy storm, water could funnel down into that window & fill up the inside like a 4” pool.
First thing that happened with my Darche Dirty Dee 1100 was the head pole snapped. My poles were splayed out, nowhere near as straight sided as what I've seen in these tutorials. My pole snapped the second I tried to bend it into the ring at the base. Pain in the ***.
Definitely a great swag and I also upgraded from the adventure kings and would recommend the upgrade. Biggest change was the space inside and no sagging walls
@@dalewilson8159 sorry dale not queen it was the double, link is www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/sleeping/4wd-mats/dune-4wd-mat/90024949001?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=CjwKCAjwy42FBhB2EiwAJY0yQuLmBhzTRpDnEDApDKPXcczYuKMNLVKBvt_sXvlEd7I97sUg0bU9ShoCMTcQAvD_BwE
Sorry tjack, I thought this was a different video haha. I won't be uploading a new video of this but this swag has been great! Definitely recommend getting an inflatable mattress
Hey David, I've had it in rain and snow, both times have been dry inside. First time I used the swag I did season it a few times before using. In the colder weather though definitely leave a window cracked open as condensation was bad 😂
@@adventurewhenwecan thanks Ben- legend!! There’s a lot of bad reviews on other brand regarding poles snapping and water getting through- I’m thinking darche may be worth the extra couple of $$ .
Thanks for the review mate, ordered the same one here in NZ after your thoughtful and down to earth review. Cheers!
Thanks Martin! 😄

Yeah I've heard similar about the poles but ours are still fine and not sure about the warranty. Not good if they aren't covering it and replacing

Is the mattress removable? And UK receives more than it's fair share of rain and wind so how well does this swag stand up?
Cheers for the review Ben! Great to see you're enjoying the Dirty Dee 👌🏼
Thanks guys, definitely enjoying it 😊

I’ve got a 100mm kings self inflating mate. I struggle a lot rolling it up with the self inflating mat
I use a dune 100mm double, did you deflate it before rolling? Mine definitely rolls up but needs to rolled tightly
What self inflating mattress do you use in this. I would like to get a 100mm mattress that I can also just roll up inside the swag.
Thanks
Hi, we use the dune double mat which is a tad smaller but fits fine inside the swag, you do need to let the valves out though when rolling up

I thought the same but surprisingly we've had no rain come in thankfully, even spraying the hose when seasoning the canvas no water got inside.
Thanks for the review, helpful but how big is it all in the bag, overall dimensions. Thanks
Like the height, looks like it would be able to fit a stretcher bed in.
Hi David, possibility but never tried it 😅
Get the 1100 and put the stretcher under the tent.
Thanks for the review mate have the same 1400 on order which brand inflatable mattress are you using as we will fit one as well,
Sorry late reply. It's a dune double self inflating mattress
Hey random question what brand self inflating mattress do you have?
Hi it was a dune double self inflating mattress

You sure you didn't use the middle pole by mistake? It is larger.
how much does it weigh?
Looks like a great swag. I am looking to upgrade my adventure kings big daddy deluxe to this dirty dee model, would you recommend I do that?

Cheers for the review! What brand/size inflatable mattress did you get to put in with the original?
We bought the dune double size self inflating mat from Anaconda. We just leave the caps unscrewed when rolling the swag up. Hope that helps 🙂
@@adventurewhenwecan sure does. Thanks mate!

Why Australian prefer a swag over a tent?
Swags are great, easy to setup and all bedding can be rolled up inside. Suits our needs down under :)
