This was the specialty of Rafi Sahab told by few connected with music. There were some incidents that during Kashmir Ki Kali recording Shammi Kapoor had suggested some change of style to Rafi Sahab but in front of Asha ji but during recording Asha ji's words were first and she immediately adopted that style and Rafi Sahab could not because of repetition. Hence he used to sing very normal during rehearsal but used to put his best only during recording. These secretes are usually held by all singers to impress better than co singer. Another example is duet from film Rajkumar Rafi Asha where Rafi Sahab has totally changed his voice at the last while ending the song not known to Asha ji. Some times actors or composers suggest for better song but if this is picked up by co singer and not possible to cancel the recording or composer cannot be that strict such things do happen. Good video.

That is why we Lovingly refer Rafi Saheb's singing as - VOICE OF GOD, SHAHENSHAH-E-TARANNUM OR MAUSIKAR-E-HIND. TANSEN OF INDIAN PLAYBACK SINGING. GREAT RAFI SAHEB. Your presentations are very unique and authentic. I request you to present a programme on the recording of the song,"Jane Kya Dhoondthi Rahati Hai Yeh..." from the film, Shola aur Shabnam. There are stories about the recording of the song,it is said it needed 21 takes such that the producer complained about his inability to hire the recording studio even for a day longer resulting in Khayyamsaab stitching together the perfect parts from the different takes and completing the song. What's the truth, could you throw light on this incident?
