I’ve been doing lawn on the side for just a few people the past few years but this is my first summer as an actual business...I just ordered 500 cards today and as soon as I saw the magnetic idea from this video,I went back to vista print and made a design and ordered 50!great content and great help
How do I get someone to stop leaving business cards for their lawn care service every day I have told them stop every day I at this point just sit by the window waiting to tell at him get gone and I'm tired of it what should I do
I've had a dad, a brother, and 3 uncles in the military. The cutting side is a family business, and all service members are getting a discount. (needless to say no hassles about stationing ect., and maybe some free moving help, if I see their wife carrying anything...haters are going to hate) That's our policy going forward a generation now. Thank you also, for your service Dan! If anyone hassles you for being kind to freedom fighters, that's just a strange personal issue on their part. Awesome marketing advice! I've redone my business cards (signage, and other items also) to be simpler, easier to read, and more effective...based on this, and other advice you've given in the past. Thank you for showing us the way brother!
So ready for the side hustle push mowing lawn service. I'm a trucker myself and work from 4 till 2. Coraline from your videos brother and try to start my own side Hustle
Glad to see you putting out a new video Dan! Our starting price is a flat monthly rate of $100 "Mar - Nov" We service once a month in the winter, twice a month in spring and fall and weekly in the summer months. This form of billing and scheduling has worked well for us over the years.
Dan, amazing the amount of subscribers you have. I have been a fan of yours for years! I feel most of your newer viewers don’t completely understand what “Side Hustle” means? I remember when you cut 100 yards straight with just a push mower! That is flat out “Hustling”. This is my second season pushing monthly budget billing (12 payments). I like it so far, especially over the winter months.
A nice healthy blend of marketing is wise for any business. Just be very careful you are directly marketing the potential clients you want and not mail-blasting thousands of homes in areas you don't want to work in. Facebook pages are good, direct marketing like this is perfect along with door magnets and sometimes a website will get you work as well. All depends on how large you want to be and how large of an area you want to work in.
Great video and great to see you back here dan. Budget billing for lawn care is genius.i never thought about it for that.i do budget billing on fuel oil for my house furnace all year long every year and it works out great. I agree with you about small lawns being the best.low overhead by using the smaller mower.i make more $$$$ per hour on those small lawns using my self propelled than I do on larger lawns that I use my lawn tractor on.knocking out more lawns per day is where the money is at even if those smaller lawns pay less than the larger lawns. By the way, elcamino’s are cool.I’ve owned 2 of them in the past.i like my Nissan Frontier but I like those elcamino’s better
Hi Dan, ever had anyone get o to you about leaving them on the mailbox? I have heard and read that the box and post are usps jurestiction. I do the same thing and never have trouble, have you?
The only trouble I ever had doing this is the morons on TH-cam who THINK they are lawyers, post master general's and judges and just want to pee in everyone's corn flakes.
Dave Allen because he’s doing “side hustle” not his mowing business anymore. He’s working out of his truck getting some extra cash. Having a huge zero turn would mean getting another trailer, and that seems like too much for just a little side hustle grass cutting.
Great Question Dave! Andrew is right but also, my audience is new people starting out and employed people looking to Side Hustle. I can’t relate to my audience if I am using pro gear. I will never discourage anyone from going bigger IF their business requires it.
Bi- weekly ?? We could never cut every other week the fescue here in NC grows way to fast for it. That would be a cleanup job for us because after 2 weeks of growing you would have to cut 2 or 3 times to get rid of all those clippings even mowing on 4inches. Not profitable at all and really just a big waste of time to be honest... We do year round contracts ONLY and A-Z services provided ... This keeps all our clients happy also keeps us busy year round even droughts n winter time... Also CC on file and bill customer first of month then all employees are paid with our accounts money...Just thought I would share how we do it.. Nice Video though.
Thank you Michael. I used my iPhone SE and edited it on the phone using iMovie. Then I transferred it as a movie to my laptop and uploaded it and then did the end screen thumbnails
hey dan gooooood to see you again hope you and you r boy s had a good holiday and you had a good to can t wait to see all you r power washing video s I am counting the day my self al g blue sky win dow clng Westchester ctny n t 45 miles from ground O
If you have trouble getting thru some of your lawns now with the AWD mower you have (tall thick grass I mean), you will HATE the under-powered TimeMaster. I had one... they suck. Only good in short or thin grass. Any wet, tall or thick grass kills the engine.
When you hear your engine slowing down dramatically and the clippings getting thrown out of the sides of the deck cause it is just too much grass to mulch... that is thick grass.
Very Helpful!
Great! Best of luck
That’s right! The back of business cards are just free notecards!😂
Grateful for this vid

@@Waterbottlewithagun Call the police for trespassing if they keep coming back.
Dan, what is the material (and source) you used for the sign on your trailer gate? With appreciation, Steve
It’s simply a yard sign from Vista Print
If they don’t pay and they don’t tell me. Someone’s giving them a letter to pay. If not the line is not being taken care of any more!
I like this free refrigerator magnet. It just happened to have words on it
Exactly right!

Yay you're back!
Thank you Stephanie
No grace period to pay. Invoice due after service for me. Must have credit card on file to receive service.
Hope ya don’t have a breech. Customer’s info is sacred and private.
So ready for the side hustle push mowing lawn service. I'm a trucker myself and work from 4 till 2. Coraline from your videos brother and try to start my own side Hustle
I know, I am sick of sitting all day. I need some lawns to mow and some sun to wreck me

That sounds great! Thank you for the positive reinforcement!
Glad you are back and everything is good for you and your family! 🤗

If someone called you and asked you to do a one time cut of their yard would tell them they need to pay upfront?
I love the fact that you spend quality time with the kids. Taking a break from YT is a good thing.
Thank you!
Have you updated ur Business card design ?
A little
Just use a cash app
I now have Cash App and Venmo
Thanks for the tips dan!
You're welcome Ernesto!
Excellent,
Thank you
How do you like your push mower. Do you still recommend it and what model is it
I currently own a Honda HRX217VKA. I really enjoy using this mower. Lots of power and the dual blades is incredible! Highly recommend
Business owners will need a lot more advertising alternatives. The market is so saturated. Don't you think?

Dan's Vlog Haha, know what you mean. Ive never really heard of anyone getting into trouble either. Just checking.
Good prices
This was a great video with some very valuable advice! Thanks a ton dude!!! i'm starting my lawn care business and want to transition into full time.
Glad it was helpful!
Great info! Do you always put pricing on your business cards and is $40 lawns the minimum target you look for? Thanks!
Thank you. Yes and yes
Dan... why are you sticking with push mowing only? A 48 or 52 inch zero turn or stander would likely cut your mowing time at least in half.
Dave Allen because he’s doing “side hustle” not his mowing business anymore. He’s working out of his truck getting some extra cash. Having a huge zero turn would mean getting another trailer, and that seems like too much for just a little side hustle grass cutting.

Nice one again, sir.

Dan's Vlog Well Dan The lawns out here is not the thick and not the super Long
Dan's Vlog what’s considered thick grass?. I’m starting out this year. Right now I have a toro push mower and a 46 inc Arens riding mower
When you hear your engine slowing down dramatically and the clippings getting thrown out of the sides of the deck cause it is just too much grass to mulch... that is thick grass.
Dan's Vlog thanks for the reply. I’ve been following you since I decided to do this side hustle and your advice and videos have been encouraging.
Good deal 👍
