Jason has carried on because of their love and need to express himself through music! Cacophony blew my mind and Jason inspired me to try harder. They’ve improved a fuck ton since back then, but you gotta realise that playing live is a completely different ballgame to recording in a studio. Also, these days their live shows home in on their video game aesthetic a lot more, even adding the occasional vgm cover into their set lists. (One easy comparison to make is how cleaner the tapping part of Fury is on their second live album compared to their first.)

Sad to see what happened to Becker. I saw him in a hole in the wall bar in Topeka, Kansas around 1990 playing with Cacophony (including Marty Friedman). They were like arm's length away as the stage was about 12 inches tall and took up a third of the room. To this day, one of the most amazing musical spectacles I've ever seen.
