I'm behind on my video watching, but I really enjoyed this video. I have always enjoyed watching your process of selecting fabrics. Never before would I have blended some of the fabrics you showed but my goodness they work so well together! My goal for 2023 is to catch up on sewing quilts and less on buying fabrics, but having said that, the idea of receiving some of the beautiful fabric every month sure is enticing!! Can't wait to see what you make!

We are quilters, Mary Anne, and we will always have too much fabric! 😂😍😂 Wouldn't you know, today I just discovered a new quilt shop not 10 min from my house - Oh this may become a problem. LOL I'll show my new fabrics on my next video. That is if I get back on track and stop going off on surprise quilting expeditions! That means you need to get some quilting done, too! Great to hear from you, Happy Quilting,

Thanks so much for these vids showing your fabric pulls and mixing prints with batiks. I still struggle with breaking away form the notion that I have to stay only within a specific line of fabrics and I've only recently begun to give myself permission to pull from different sources. I've also been challenging myself to try colors that I've never used before and color combos that I never have previously thought would be good together. I'd love to see you do a quilt with some of those chocolaty browns. I tend to stay away from browns, but those bundles pairing browns with greens, blues and teals look absolutely scrumptious! Love your channel, Lea - I learn so much from you all the time! 😊

So glad to hear you're having fun quilting with some new colors! Those chocolate browns really caught my eye to, especially with the greens and blues. It's such a pretty combo! I recently did a quilt back with 15 different brown-ish FQs and love how it turned out. The blocks were different size rectangles, some very large, and it looked great. It was one of those mad-rush for Christmas projects so I didn't get to record it. I will definitely do another! Thanks so much for following along - it's great to hear how wonderfully your quilting is coming. 😍👍👍 Happy Quiltng,

❤ your videos! I am new to quilting since September 22 and hooked, but struggle with comining colors. you asked what you could emphasize on this year, thus for me, I could love more insight on how you choose your color comibnations.

Personally I love choosing my own fabrics. I never like all the colors or prints in a fabric line. I have been quilting before buying a collection was a thing. There are certain colors I stay away from...blue specifically. There are certain patterns that are just ugly. Why would I spend money on fabrics I would never use.
I also have no desire to sponsor one designer in an entire quilt. Learning to choose and coordinate fabric is a skill all quilters should learn.
I am aware that many quilters prefer having all the fabrics match and making quilts that look like everyone else's. The hard part is done and a very pretty quilt will be the result.
It is good that you are recommending to them that they can pull or add fabrics to these kits. It's a beginning to letting their artistic soul sing.

Well said! You're right about letting our artistic soul sing through our quilts. It takes a bit of confidence to step outside the box and mix things up a bit, but what a delight the results will be! 😍 Thanks so much for your comment. Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise
