    Thanks for the review. Just inherited a Pentax K1000 kit with multiple lenses and this was one of them. Looking forward to shooting some film again.

    One of my favorite lenses. I purchased the 200mm f4 at the same time and found zoomed in the 135 f2.5 was sharper. Fantastic bokeh. When I am out shooting wildlife on the weekends the f2.5 is very handy.

      People like to hate on this one because "it's not a real takumar"

    I have the SMC K 135 mm f2.5. It’s a beautiful lens with a wonderful back ground blur.

    Hey I took this lens out today and it glared like a madman! Into the light, away from the light, didn't matter, seems the only way to prevent glare is to flag it! Anyway, can't really complain because it was like $30, but perhaps I will save-up for the super SMC version. Thanks for the video!

    Nice review, I have the M42 135mm f3.5 Takumar. Even though its only f3.5 I still love that lens.

      When it comes to longer lenses f3.5 is plenty enough, in my opinion 😉

    I've found the same lens at a street market some weeks ago, I paid 20€ for it. I've bought this one, a Jupiter 21M (10€), a Zenit with another Helios (10€) and the Pentax M 50mm 1.7 (10€). It was an unique opportunity since I usually have no luck, don't envy.
    The blades on my copy open and close slowly on Pentax bodies but it works fine with Fujifilm mirrorless, the optics and leaves look clean and the focus ring turns nicely.
    It's well built, isn't it? And the 8 blades you mentioned are nice. My Jupiter 37A, CZ Sonnar 135mm f3.5 and Hexanon 135mm f3.2 have a better reputation and they're probably sharper but I think I'll keep this one as well.

      Yeah, it has its own character! You scored a nice jackpot, a lot of value for little money, good for you!

      135mm seem to be the unloved stepchildren. They seem to easy to make good like 50mm. So many companies made good ones. But they don't seem exciting when you go to grab a lens. But when you get back after a shoot and actually view the pictures you see how wrong you are. The ones, I come across generally look less used then the 50mm And probably I will be guilty of the same thing when I pass them on eventually.

    I've recently bought a late 80's zoom. It's certainly sharp like this one. But the semi modern look is kinda hard to get used to. They seem a bit sterile.

    • @MarcoAries
      @MarcoAries  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I get that. Some lenses are neither here nor there, not too vintage-y but not really modern either.

    Would you recommend this one over the Takumar Super-multi-coated 135mm f3.5? 🤔
    Thanks!

    • @MarcoAries
      @MarcoAries  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I've reviewed both, you can check the video about the SMC and see some samples.
      It depends on what you are looking for. The older has a more pronounced vintage character and a slower aperture. They also have different mounts, if that could be a concern for you.
      Personally, I prefer the Pentax-M 135 3.5.

    Vorrei prendere un 85 mm vintage ma non ne trovo a prezzi umani. Trovo 135 mm che andrei a utilizzate con speed Booster Viltrox su Canon M50. Che mi consigli?

    • @MarcoAries
      @MarcoAries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Gli 80/85 sono effettivamente rari e costosi, sui 135 generalmente si va sul sicuro anche spendendo 10-15€, per qualche motivo sono sempre almeno decenti.
      Personalmente non uso speedbooster, non ne sento la necessità e non vorrei alterare l'immagine prodotta dalla lente, oltre al fatto che sono alquanto costosi.
      Ho recensito vari 135 e anche comparato alcuni direttamente, puoi farti un'idea delle differenze, ma non potrei consigliartene uno, dipende molto da cosa cerchi. Il Pentax-M e il Canon FD sono molto nitidi ma mancano un po' di carattere, il Konica Hexanon AR 2.5 è un bestione con il look tipico del brand, il Tokina RMC ha colori pastello e bokeh a bolle di sapone e qualsiasi altro di sottomarca sarà generalmente un po' morbido con evidente aberrazione cromatica. Sotto i 50€ ce ne sono talmente tanti che, secondo me, la cosa migliore è comprare, provare e rivendere finchè non trovi quel che ti piace!
