There are many reasons I have trouble coping with this, so I just want to know if there's a scene in this movie depicting the death of a young happy female heroin addict. I don't think I could handle seeing something like that, but at the same time I really want to see this movie as it's poignant to my life.

The roller coaster lifestyle combined with the fact that opiates make you much more emotional and volatile make for some very interesting and sometimes destructive "junky drama". i ironically know someone who was running with "arielle" ( her real first name was used in the movie, arielle holmes IS a moniker to protect her) - and heard about the casting. the safdies wanted this guy to play the mike character. he thought it was a junkie pipe dream and went to rehab. heard her voice on the trailer 6 mos later and lost his shit. its too bad she's still living that life from what i've heard. but what the safdies didnt get about heaven knows what was allowing that lifestyle to be glorified and getting all these close ups of sweet pullbacks of blood into the needle etc....to a junkie that shows nothing but encouragement. according to her friends, shes still in the life. brilliant film. rough. wouldnt suggest it to anyone who wants to get hi though.

Just saw Heaven Knows What today at a AFI Film Festival. Arielle Thomas is a intense and great actress for her first role.
