PeteDorr you're like a relic of the past that has remained consistent with his style of content. I really miss TH-camrs who have started small but quickly became a sellout. Never change, bro!
I get such a strange feeling watching this video. This channel is what got me into playing and collecting different and obscure games back in 2013. It's what formed a lot of what I do today. Watching this is a type of nostalgia I can't describe.

Just a straight up top 10 list without the BS you see in other videos. Pete is a legend TH-camr. I'm glad to have watched nearly all of his videos. Thank you sir!
The Sega Channel absolutely blew my mind. I played it at a family friend's home on the other side of the state, the kids in my hometown literally didn't believe that it even existed.
I don’t understand why you don’t post on TH-cam more because I’ve watched your twitch many times and there is not that many people that watch. I feel like you have become more interested in the money than influencing a bigger crowd on TH-cam in which you have a way bigger reach to people.
Always nice to see a new video Pete :) Personally for me I'd say my favorite console has to be between PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox 360, it's really hard to pick between them.
Always good to see you in video form Pete Similar story for you and me with Saturn, I check my old ebay recepit from when I first got my Saga like 11 years ago, $140. Most I ever had and still have paid for a game. Insane what its going for now as well as many other things
hard to deny the incredible library of the ps1 and ps2... nothing else comes close if we are being honest (other then the ds perhaps). there will never be a period like that again due to the mobile industry stripping a good portion of the developers away from the console space. in the ps1/ps2 days, there was a concentration of games being developed for those consoles -- so much so that it was overwhelming. i continue to this day still discover new games to check out on those consoles despite having already watched dozens of hidden gems videos... just when you think you have seen it all, a game you have never seen appears and catches your eye. i feel that way about the wii to some extent as well. the ps1/ps2/ps4/ds and snes would likely make my top 5 list, followed by the genesis, ps3, psp, 3ds and wii (in no particular order).
Been taking my time watching this video slowly in chunks mostly while eating lunch, really great to see you upload again on YT pete, would love to see more.
The amount of nostalgia that just hit me by noticing your FFXI poster that came with the game is overwhelming lol. Can't remember if it came with the game or the manual but I had it on my wall as well at my moms house. God damn I miss that game so much.
Wow this is a blast from the past because you look exactly the same as I remember. I started collecting video-games after seeing your videos and listening to AGG; now my collection is in the 1000's, I'm married, working and have a daughter. Weird. Anyway, good video Pete. This reminds me of the TH-cam I miss.
Always glad to see you again Pete!! You’ll never really know how much you impacted my video game taste and trajectory growing up! I hope to see you soon on FFXI
I respect your list a lot but here's my list best to lower: SteamLink/SteamOS or Steam - The best modern gaming platform in console formfactor. N64 - Really unique and awesome. Very instant gaming compared to the competition at the time. Wii w/ Gamecube - Mods, The fact that most of these had a GameCube in them is crazily awesome. PSP - Mostly because of the homebrew software but the games and device is amazing. PS2 - Huge library of great games, I missed out completely on this generation so I idolize it. PS3 - MGS4, Demon Souls and more. 3d Graphics from this gen were very developed, I feel they have cut development time since then. Wii U - A more modern success at Dreamcasts little display in my opinion. Xbox - Mods, Halo 2 way before the PC edition and a awesome 4 controller port system. PlayStation - One of the best libraries for the first 3d generation of gaming. Windows 98 - Although this is the furthest from an actual console it is very possible to have some one make one for you that performs as streamlined as a console and some of the games from this generation are still best played on original compatible chips.
I really enjoyed the video Pete! Thank you! I’ve been playing a ton of ps1 lately as well. Such a charming system and era of gaming. New fav as well. Can’t wait for the next video!
Mad respect for representing the CD-i, bro. It's your unconventional ideas that are what drew me to your channel in the first place. You totally go against the gaming grain, and I love that.
Great video! I think the most shocking thing about your list is not the inclusion of CD-i but that you didn't include the SNES especially with your love of RPGs and Platformers which are the 2 genre's that system is known for 🤔. I have been watching you since 2009 and get excited everytime I see you post a new video. I wish you still posted content on the regular and I'm sure I'm not alone!
I miss your videos! I literally just went to your TH-cam channel to watch a few old videos and bam! A new video? From two weeks ago?! Great video, man. These talking to the camera videos were always my favorites; I didn't need fancy editing and gameplay footage. Hopefully you can make some more videos like this in the future!
Great video Pete :) maybe one day it might be worth giving a full video to cdi to show the better games and try and show the better stuff It has. I don't own it but would love to know what you see in the console. Great video though thank you for the fantastic video.
This was a great list! I love your stories and reasonings behind your choices, so much better than just listing a few fun games on the platform and moving on.
Never understood why some people have such a hard time saying "library". Not that it's a big deal or anything, but like... when you're saying it so many times in a video it gets a bit cringe lol. Gotta remember there's a letter R in the middle bro! Don't take it the wrong way though, just giving you a hard time haha. I still loved the video Pete. I've always loved the way you give introspect onto your childhood and even adult memories of video games and the immense amount of passion you have for these games and memories. I always can picture you having these experiences in my mind while you spill out the details of these memories. Thanks for taking the time to make this list!
When I was a little kid we had a Super Nintendo and my first game ever was Super Star Wars V. Then the family got a Playstation and my favorite games were Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Coolboarders, and Crash Bash. Shortly after, we got a Playstation 2 and I mostly played Star Wars games on it, but Kingdom Hearts was a big chunk of my childhood. I had basically all of the Nintendo handhelds like the Gameboy and DS. Super Mario, Pokemon, and Kirby were my main handheld games. But then we get into the Xbox 360 where I really got into gaming with games like Call of Duty 4, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops and other series like Halo and Gears of War. Then when those series kind of died down I got into Dark Souls and that sunk a lot of my life. That's probably my favorite game series ever. The PS4 is good. Bloodborne is a must have and so is God of War. The Switch was cool but had a very limited library for the first year and a half and still kind of does. But Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild were definite must haves. Now I mostly play World of Warcraft anf Counter Strike on PC.
PS1 and PS2 are also my all-time, favorite #1 and #2 consoles. We will probably never see libraries like these consoles have ever again. I'm with you, man.
Interesting list for sure! It’s cool that you put so much time into hashing out the list, I know that must have been hard. And TH-cam is a better place when you make videos !
The list: 10. Sega Saturn 9. CD-i 8. Sega Dreamcast 7. Game Boy Advance (SP) 6. DS 5. N64 4. Microsoft Xbox 360 3. Sega Genesis 2. Sony Playstation 2 1. Sony Playstation 1
Hey Pete great video my man - I'm noticing more and more top favourite consoles is very personal and what genre of games you play the most. I was very surprised that the SNES & Gamecube never made the list. BTW there are heaps of Japanese games that never came out on SNES similar to the PS1.
We missed you bud do a updated game room tour because that was the first vid I watch from yours and you made me into a Final fantasy and rpg fan thanks for everything.
Hey, Pete - Not sure if you still look at these comments, but I'd love it if you'd make some videos about PS1 JP imports as you discuss in the video. In general, I collect in a similar way as you do: thorough research (usually of one console at a time), followed by careful purchases of games I know I'll want to play. Saturn is my #1 console and I have found well over 100 JP-only Saturn games worth having even for someone like me with minimal knowledge of the Japanese language. Like you, I have more JP Saturn games now than NA Saturn. PS1 on the other hand is in my top 5 consoles but I've only found about 50 JP-only games for PS1, and very few of them are the same level of "must haves" that a bunch of Saturn shooters and 2D fighters are. To me, "must haves" from PS1 JP library would include games like Harmful Park, Gungage, Gunners Heaven, Vib-Ribbon, Tobal 2, Panzer Bandit, Robbit MonDieu, Pepsiman. But after that it seems like there are merely "good" games. From listening to this video, it seems like you feel the opposite: you like Saturn and enjoy your Saturn collection, but have recently been more and more a PS1 fan partly because you've found a large number of great JP-only PS1 games. What are they?
Good to see a vid man. I'm an absolute die hard for the PS1, and you're right, the imports are so vast and so many are great games we nvr saw. For me, Ganbare Goemon Oedo Daikaiten, Ganbare Goemon Shin Seddai Shumei, and Ganbare Goemon Uchuu Kaizoku Akogingu were games I was so happy to know existed and play, new Goemon platformers(in 2D 32-bit glory). Of course there's so much more like Little Ralph and Hermie Hopperhead, and then trippy stuff like Groove Adventure Rave: Plue No Daibouken(not worth hundreds of dollars though, sorry). The U.S. got some stuff like Adventures of Lomax, Silhouette Mirage, Skullmonkeys, etc. PS2 has great imports as well, but the PS1 is my "stuck on an island" console for sure.
My number 1 is the PS1 as well. The RPG's on that system are untouchable, God level. Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX, The Legend Of Dragoon, Legend Of Legaia, Guardian's Crusade, Grandia, Alundra, Wild Arms, The Granstream Saga it was just stacked with so many great RPG's. Then it also had great platforming games like Spyro 1, 2, and 3. Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, and 3. Croc 1 and 2. Tomba! 1 and 2. Klonoa. Just an incredible system with 4 times as many games as the N64.
I found the cdi to be really cool also and I was surprised after watching the avgn video on it and hotel Mario and then actually playing it that it's pretty fun
Look son, it's a Pete Dorr video, make a wish.
We need updated game room tour
Holy shit, never thought i would see you do a youtube video ever again! This is a complete gift lol.
I became a fan after watching your Xbox 360 collection, back in the start of high school. That was 2008. So glad to see you back on TH-cam.
