I know what to call it. A box of junk.

@@JingoLoBa57 Hi, "Ya 'gatta keep 'em separated", as the song goes. Your digital and analog devices that is.
Digital is evolving every day. The digital "Signal Chain" (better described as a Signal Pipe") is getting way faster & more dense.
This Magnat MC 400 is an example of putting all your eggs in one basket and there's already one bad apple (lol).
One cannot even salvage the analog amp or preamp 'cause there's no "main in's" or "preouts", once all the digital goes obsolete next month (exaggerated).
Keep your analog & digital in separate chassis'. It's a box of junk.🔊

Well... I would say - it depends... It depends on what you need, on what you expect, on what you are capable of (from financial perspective). I am using the old MC1 combo from Magnat (hybrid one) and I really like it. It gives me plenty of pleasure from both CDs and vinyl records. I do not have to care about the cables, all is controlled by from one remote, the tube in the pre-amp stage gives wonderful warmth and colorfulness. Of course you can have better system, but the question is - whether to spend this money on the hardware upgrade or on new records or concerts and live performances...? :)
The one thing I miss is the streaming - I can plug in my phone with streaming app, but for sure it would be better to have in-built streamer (or external streamer + dac), but this would require stuff (ex)changes...

@@szczepanpopielarz3025 Oh, I completely agree with you. However, I would like to see reviewers NOT recommend all in one boxes unless the consumer feels audio is disposable.
I see two audiences for audio reviewers. The hobbyist and the one time buyer. Recommending this product to a hobbyist would be a mistake because it's a dead end. The reviewer should inform the one time buyer, just go to some random top 10 list and pick one out that meets their budget because this channel is ever evolving and progressing.
If soccer mom wants an all in one, fine. But don't recommend it to a hobbyist. Especially a new hobbyist.
(I'm in an audio desert, I enjoy the conversation fyi) 🔊

@JingoLoBa57 it doesn't have normal usb, doesn't have 5ghz wifi, luck of services. It may be a good cd-player/amplifier, but it is terrible all in one device.
