I have a good friend named Angelina, and I played this for her right after I learned it. She has cancer, and things can look rough sometimes. She’s non-responsive, so I just go over and play for her sometimes and hope she enjoys it. This one gets to me though because she’s so strong. Warms hearts in both the player and the listener. Thanks for letting me spread the love through music Mr. Emmanuel!
Update: Forgot I made this comment years back, Angelina passed away in January of 2021, I played this song one last time for her at her funeral. That May, I had the opportunity of meeting Tommy and got to personally thank him for the impact he had on myself and that family.

I think to a great degree it is from a person who has grown up listening to one type of "music" and they've never learned to appreciate true music and musical talent. This is not like the very limited range of "music" they listen to so they don"t like it and feel the need to let everyone else know. They are stunted in their musical knowledge and growth.
I like this song very much, but as soon as someone describes a song as "true music" and starts to compare as if they're better than anyone else, it pisses me off.
I'm grateful I have my 2 ears working just fine so I can enjoy that masterpiece of music... I'm a musician too, a pianist, and I know for a fact the joy some ppl can bring to others simply by performing what they are good at! May your music never fade away

Met Tommy several times. Seen him play more...even a 3 day concert cruise. Nicest guy you could ever meet. On the seventh day God rested...and said "Let the Earth bring forth music. Later came Chopin. Beethoven and Emmanuel.
Yes the basic chords of the song are beautiful but for weeks I have been perfecting the 'background' notes that he plays and other touches he makes. there are so many extra dynamics, stresses and sustained notes that are required to play this piece well.

I'm always blown away by the really fast and virtuose playing from Tommy. He's one of the best out there, but this song always goes straight to my heart. The calm pace, the beautiful progression and just enough licks 'n tricks to keep it grounded. Awesome!

Have to add one more thing. If you see Tommy live, best be prepared for the most wall-to-wall, treetop tall thunderous acoustic guitar mix you're ever likely to hear. He's got pickups inside, outside, sideways, all the ways... really hard to describe the bass, the fullness... his live sound is INCREDIBLE. And he's a pretty good player too, ha. This video has a great mic'd guitar sound, but to hear this through his multi-wired live setup... itz CRAY CRAY
If you are an exceptional guitar player...this is how you showcase your skills. Not beating and banging all over the damn thing to the point that any sort of song or arrangement is unrecognizable. Quality over quantity.

Just started two days ago with practicing this song on my guitar. It's so beautiful. That being sad. I discovered that tommy has the most agile fingers ever. I'm taking yoga lessons for just my fingers now. It's ridiculous.
Took me weeks to learn and record this tune - and he just slightly modifies every little part so perfectly and effortlessly, giving a whole new character to the track, ugh. So good.

I´m a rocker/metalhead, but I love your playing! I know you can be extremely fast and technical, but most of all I love the more relaxed, low/mid-tempo songs from your catalogue. This one´s a great example - and those harmonics towards the end, they are just golden! :)
