Bravo and thank you for sharing this video. Yes Mat time is difficult now...Lovely to see you working regardless. I have shared this on because so many students ask the same question in training..! Thank you again and bravo!
Your awesome love how you brought the Aiki Home. Good for you. Very proud of you. The simplicity of what we do. 1000’s of years old. Yoga and Aiki. Awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Nice Rolls. Thank you. Very inspiring. I train at home. All the time.
Lovely reminder of aikido practice, thank you for sharing:) Bokken (and Jo) practise outdoors is so much better than indoors; I realised just how low the lights and ceiling are indoors.
Great to see that you can still practice Aikido at home. I wish I have the backyard to set up the mats and practice my bokken (I live in an apartment). Thx for sharing.
Ninjustu is my discipline & the moves with a bo staff or hanbo are very similar to these. Always have been curious about Aikido as I have heard of the overlaps with these 2 martial arts. Thanks for sharing. 🙏

This is a martial system I never practiced but I really enjoyed your video and looked at it 3 times in a row lol, it have a really nice atmosphere about it.
Enjoyed the jo. With the bokken and your high blocks, need to pull your arms out to the side so the sword is covering your head. At the moment it is your hands. Something you learn in hard training in Shinkendo. Smashed fingers hurt. Really enjoyed.
Always a fan of this discapline. Know little about it realy. I grew up strong from work, but not at all athletic. So I just watch. But as a tradesman, I sure as hell know the result of hard work and vigilance when I see it. 👍💪👍💪👍
You can do it too. Doesn't take long to pick up and not as difficult as it seems (for the postures and such). I began overweight and out of shape at 45. Took a few months to get the old muscles and joints ready, but now I can do everything she did in the video. My teacher does all of it and he is nearly 80! Give it a try.
And finally: I AM very jealous of your mat, and your space... I'm stucked in my appartment and I don't have enough space to release my tsuki and ushi...
I'd like to ask you one other question: I just started taking Aikido lessons. I work strange hours, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to fit Aikido lessons into my schedule... If I were to wake up, head straight to a one hour lesson, and THEN eat breakfast right after the lesson, then do you see anything wrong with that? Thanks.
When you raise the boken to cut think about getting your elbows even with the center of your ears. When you cut think about casting a fishing rod. If you get it right, the cut is finished when the sword is in motion...It' takes practice, but you can feel it when it's right.
Practised during 14 years in Turin Italy and often abroad for stages. Stopped when i found out i had disc issues in 2 points. Since years i keep doing fitness and swinming. But i ll love aikido forever.its just not really possible for me anymore. Not at the level i was before or getting better. Knees etc.....

Nice. Keep it up. Good encouragement and inspiration for the rest of us to get off the couch. Even if we don't have a yard we can all grab our weapons and go to a nearby park. Or at least do some of our stretches, unsoku, tegatena dousa, fundamentals and imaginary uke technique practices in our parking areas if we're in apartments. Some of those arm stretches and twists were clearly Tomiki-rooted - near identical to stretches that we do, even in the same order. What is your style and where are you? Greetings from Northern California!
Thank you for your awesome comment, Robert! Yes, even with fewer space Aikidokas can do taisabaki and Aiki warm-up exercises. It's better to do less than nothing at all. My Sensei's teacher is Terry Ezra Shihan (UK). I'm from the Netherlands. Take care and stay healthy.

Wonderful training Thank You Osu!!!🙏
Nice work. Wish I had more space to practice. Please upload more videos. Thanks.
Love it. How peaceful. :)
Having fond memories of the five years of aikido training, especially the warming up.
Sweated like an ox already after 10', but never got injured 🙂
I just started and this video is so nicely done and inspiring - thank you very much!
Well thank you. I wish you all the best and joy on your Aikido journey.

Your movements are really clean, esp. in your ken and jo work, and your incorporation of sun salutation elements in your practice is a great idea.
In wanomichi aikido with Daniel Toutain, with use to practice Sun salutation as kaisen dosa 🙏🏼🈴
Come to my Muay Thai gym so you can learn real martial arts and get a wake up call from this Bullshido

Lucky woman with a backyard! :)
Great to see that you can still practice Aikido at home. I wish I have the backyard to set up the mats and practice my bokken (I live in an apartment). Thx for sharing.
YW! Even in a small space, you can still practice Aikido. Like aiki-taiso, taisabaki, relaxation, and if you have a high ceiling Jo kata/ Ken suburi?
What if you use a long-handled hammer? The weight of the hammer head is to simulate the weight of the long bokken above the handle. :-)
I also live in a flat and I practise the bokken in the garden outside and do some forward and back rolls in a small matt.

Great job.

You go Ms! Congrats on the workout and inspirational video.
Regularity and tenacity. You contribute to help training almost 300k viewers to aikido. Very good action
Nice solo training👍. I need to incorporate some of these drills into my training
That's a nice solo set up, lots of room. Nice Warmup, never done aikido but looks like it would help with flexibility

Great stretches. That warmup is truly a full body warm up.

I don't know much about aikido . But i have practiced taekwondo for four years . i looked at your foot movement . And it is impressive ...
Oh, cool, nice video. I've never done Aikido before but it looks fun. Some of the moves reminded me of break dancing.
I think she uses them as warm ups or they really have that and break dancers used those moves in their dancing of breaking. XD
Dancing, that's the only thing they do in aikido lol

Do you need such a mat to practice at home? What if I went to the park, found a flat space, and tried this on the grass there?
Of course not:), but this was during the hard lockdown when we were stuck at home. I often practice outdoors.
