    The Avatar Wan story singlehandedly carries season 2 imo. So good.

    Avatar Wan's story always makes me so sad, it's so bittersweet. He will always be The Avatar for me. I actually like that every avatar is so unique that you can connect with one as a viewer but they're so similar that you can call back on how the last avatar was and remember their moments

      @@GoodTimeForARoll AGREED‼️🙌 His last moments on that battlefield where he felt he failed humanity and Raava assuring him, she will be with him forever, straight chills and tears 🥲😂

      @@TVwithAli That moment makes me cry every time, just hearing wan being so sorry, to care so much and for raava to make such a promise, such a devotion..it's so just everything. I can't even fully put into words how it makes me feel

    this episode also finally explained how there were still air bisons despite appa being the "last" one. Some bison must've gotten away from the fire nations attack during the comet, and gotten to this island where the people decided to take of them.

    Avatar Wan is voiced by Steven Yeun, who also played Glen on The Walking Dead and voiced Invincible himself

    I'm definitely seeing some Studio Ghibli influence into Wan's story. The Bridge to a Bathhouse? So Spirited Away. The Deforestation plot? Mononoke and Pom Poko

      Wan's story is very much a melding of Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Wan himself is very Ashitaka coded.

    13:36 Serena Williams voices one of the Fire Sages here, she also voiced the nice Fire Nation guard in Iroh's prison cell in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

    Unalaq is like so many people throughout real world history - there have been many who have tried to summon demons [does not matter if they exist or not and if they do, whether they can be summoned or not - the people believed they were real and could be summoned] and why? Because they believed they would be able to control the demon and the demon would give them great power. I have often wondered at this kind of stupidity, but it comes from people who think they are far more clever than anyone and only they can do whatever it is that needs to be done. I've known a few such people over the years and Unalaq definitely fits the pattern.

    Poor Wan tho. He became the first Avatar because he caused the split between Raava and Vaatu. Subsequently, creating the Avatar cycle because he also motivated humans into becoming the first benders. All because he was hungry.

    I'm guessing you can't do 4 episodes per video, so when you do Books 3 and 4, do both episodes 1&2 and 3&4 as 2 videos for both seasons and then do 3 per video for each of the rest of the seasons

    I think they may have screwed up the timeline, or at least didn’t clearly explain it. 10k years doesn’t explain all the previous Avatars, it should have been many 10k cycles to cover all those statues IMO. Let’s say they live about 80 years average, which we know at least one lived much longer. That is 125 avatars in 10k years. I feel like it was more than that, those statues went way up in that room.

      Some die young like Aang was intended to do during the genocide of the Air Nomads. Others live to be over 200 like Kyoshi who was the longest lived Avatar.

      I know this, it’s why I picked an average number. It still seems like there should be more. There easily could have been more than one cycle, he just was never released so he was never an issue.

    Did they ever explained why the Lion Turtle were the ones teach humans how to bend? Despite in the original series mentioning that things like the badger moles, dragons, air bisons, and the moon were the original benders that taught humans how to bend.

    • @ericksandoval8276
      @ericksandoval8276 13 นาทีที่ผ่านมา +1

      If I give you a musical instrument did I give you the ability to play it or just the ability to use it? It’s the same principle. The lion turtle gave them the power to bend their own energy. The animals and the moon later taught them how to bend it as a part of yourself. Wan clearly shows this when he’s training with the dragon before that he can attack but the fire he bends after the dragon dance is significantly stronger, even the guard states it was like nothing he’d ever seen when Wan used fire.

    When you say what he's doing isn't avatar like, just think the purpose of the avatar is to keep everything balanced, they are in a time period where the balance between rich and poor wasn't good, so by raiding the rich he was trying to reobtain balance

    This is one of the amazing events and characters I was referring to when I commented on a previous episode that Season 2 is nowhere near as bad as the haters keep lying that it is, and in actuality, is pretty darn good (not great, but still pretty good; waaay better than 99% of all anime story-telling)

    • @GoodTimeForARoll
      @GoodTimeForARoll ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I think they're just remembering how bad mako was and in a way I can understand, Korra was basically a sheltered child and mako was homeless with a brother to take care of, shouldn't he be more mature and know how to handle certain situations? Honestly, I don't like either of them and I do think korra crossed many lines but maybe it's also a thing where she's supposed to be the avatar and mako is just some guy so they're certain whatever she does will work out but with like Wan's story, we can see it doesn't always work out even if we have good intentions, even though korra's intentions usually suck

    i’m sorry but i don’t get how yall are so on korra’s side with the mako thing. mako had a point when he said that korra shouldn’t be shown blatantly supporting one side but like always she was stubborn and didn’t listen. i don’t think it’s terrible to to not want to lose your job over a girl who treats u badly within your relationship and yall just forgot how shitty korra was to mako. and to barge INTO MY JOB and kick my desk over bc u didn’t like what i did is abusive bro. korra was doing too much. tf do u mean SHE should’ve broke up with him? he’s been trying all season to be supportive but she was an asshole every time he tried but yup fuck him ig

      The way I understood it, they were saying like "How could anyone break up with THE avatar? If anything, the avatar breaks up with you."
