Honestly the Acupressure mat is one of my favourite things for relaxing! First few times you have to be careful and maybe wear a thicker Shirt, but once you get used to it it's amazing. I now usually do it without a shirt, so the pressure is even better. Totally helps my sore back after long hours of training, great before going to bed.
The accupressure mat is actually an amazing thing and helps a lot to relax after a working day sitting at a computer. Obviously, it has nothing to do with digestion etc., but it does relieve neck/back soft tissue pain. And yes, it does hurt in the beginning but you get used to it. And of course, you have to be careful.
Agreed! I don't understand why all those unsubstantiated, grandiose health claims keep being made and it needs to stop, those mats are great at relieving tension in the back and neck though and given how many people have problems there, that fact alone should be enough to sell 'em without any BS.
I love mine, especially for under my feet at the end of a working day (on my feet all day), or for when I need to relax a little more. I never use the neck pillow though, it's too uncomfortable!
I love the little capsules, especially since there are other places where you can get them cheap! I used one as a gift with little notes I made inside, and they’re super fun :)
I have that sleep mask and it really does work. I need a completely dark room to sleep, which is kind of impossible. But, this mask works very well in giving me the dark room I need to sleep well. It also doesn't smash my eyes...huge plus on that! Hi, Bear!!!
Yup. Had a compressed trigeminal nerve, no pain but couldn't fully close one of my eyes for several months. Having a healthy night's sleep with your eye half-open is a tricky business, and one of those masks was my nightly companion.
I'll second that mask although mine is black not red. It blocks out virtually all light and is extremely comfortable to wear. And yes, you can sleep on your side with it.
I was lying with my spike pillow under my neck watching this and it was good entertainment 😄 my neck muscles get really painfully stiff sometimes and that thing is the best, a heaven for my neck. It gets the blood flowing again and the muscles to relax, feels wonderful. Good to hear that you think it would be okay when used properly! 😊
I got that spike mat for xmas years ago and I love it! Theres only one weird thing, it doesnt work (or even feel comfortable) when Im on my period, when I need it the most. Im totally jealous of your pillow, this is the first time Ive learned they exist!
I also have both and they indeed work wonders for stuff muscles, muscle knots and pain. I mostly use it for my neck and my whole back and sometimes also for my legs and feet. It works best when you lay on it with bare skin.
The last one is such a lifesaver for my anxiety, it destructs me and makes me so relaxed for some reason! Don’t know about the claims in the description but I like it
That prickly pillow thing....I LOVE mine for my migraines! I'm not fond of the mat, though. I don't know how it works, acupressure, or whatever, but it helps!
Yes! Brown noise! I love playing that at night. So relaxing. As an audiologist, I talk to my patients about white, brown, red, and pink noise, especially for tinnitus and hyperacusis. But I always tell them just to get an app on your phone or have Alexa play it.
I was at a family reunion awhile ago and saw a lady with a big brown Newfie service dog! He was the best boy. Obviously I didn't try to pet him since he was a service dog, but I ran into the lady a few times and we chatted. They are so huge and so adorable - give Bear some love from us, Doctor Mike!
I love the shield effect when Dr. Mike held up the tourmaline stone. Good job, editor. And yes I like to sage my house once a year at least. It's more of a spiritual thing for me than anything concrete like curing my depression or something. My sister also has me sage when she moves to new places.
As a massage therapist, who stays focused on the sports and pain management/ relief side of the industry and stays away from the snake oil stuff, I use cupping, mostly for my athletic clients or clients who just love deep tissue, I definitely recommend it. There are a few different types of cupping and they all have different purposes. I only do moving cupping and I know how to do stationary but I do not do that one much because most people do not want to walk around looking like an octopus attacked them from the marks they leave which are not bad marks just not pretty lol. It helps aid in getting lactic acid build up flushed out into the lymphatic system which is what causes the muscle soreness after working out and the suction of the cups break the capillaries which are the small blood vessels that transport nutrients and oxygen into the body which those things of course are needed in aiding muscle recovery and when it breaks them the body then brings healthier blood flow into the area that was cupped. With all this being said. Yes absolutely do NOT use this if you do not know how to use it. Massage therapists, physical therapist, medical doctors, chiropractors are trained how to use these and are taught what are and are not contraindications for it and also where you can and cant put them on the body. These things can be misused and do harm when misused so please consult the ones who are trained for proper evaluation if it is a good fit for you to receive it or not.
The mat is life. So great for neuropathic pain control. Buys me a good couple hours of productive time when I’m in a pain flare-up. Actually allowed me to walk with less pain before my spine surgery. But if you don’t have chronic pain, that bad boy hurts! It’ll also cut you if you pick it up carelessly.
Side sleeper here, I bought the sleeping mask (or super similar style) that you tried on @8:32 and it really is amazing. The foam around the eye area is super comfortable, only problem is the strap and sometimes slip position and dig into the ears.
We have an acupressure mat at home. My friend’s 18 year old Jack Russell loves walking on the mat and she will always seek the mat out whenever she comes over. It amazes me that a dog loves to walk on an acupressure mat.
I’m currently in my exam week at university and tried listening to brown noise to stop thinking and fall asleep and it works perfectly!! thank you doctor mike!
I have and use a sleep mask. Light bothers the hell out of me and I prefer pure darkness. Also, my wife has trouble falling asleep so I encourage her to use her lamp on her side and read a book (instead of scrolling on her phone). So, she can unwind and I can sleep. It has no health benefits other than blocking out light and for that I love it.
Doctor Mike: The idea of the positive message bottle is a good one, but its poorly executed. I have a box of cards from friends I have collected over the years. On my really bad days I pull them out and read them to remind myself that I am loved and my life matters.
Love Dr.Mike and his content. The time and effort he puts in is huge. Thank you for being one of the only reliable sources of medical information on social media that i know apart from Mama Doctor Jones❤❤❤❤❤❤ & respect to you both. Never Change. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is VERY specific but I’m a chronic illness girlie and find that cupping works VERY specifically for me. It works best if I’ve used some kind of massage to dig up a knot then cup it over the area to get stuff moving. It almost never works if I haven’t done the massage and also THIS IS WITH DOCTOR AND PHYSICAL THERAPIST KNOWLEDGE AND APPROVAL
I like that Dr Mike was sort of making fun of the sage before he stopped himself and recognized that it might be part of someone's culture and decided he's "with it" instead. Big ups to Dr Mike for being culturally conscious and kind.
I have the acupressure mat and head pillow! Honestly, I don't use the mat too much, but the neck pillow is an amazing way to: one, distract from the pain of my migraine and two, release some tension in my neck. Not sure how it works exactly, but it makes me feel better, even if it's just placebo :)
The red-eye mask reminds me a little of the migraine mask my mom got me. It looks stupid, and I had my doubts, especially since I really don't like being touched by anything when I have a migraine. However, she's trying her best to help, so I gave it a try, and I actually really like it. It can be heated or cooled. Heat usually helps my migraines more than the cold, but I've found it helpful even when cool. It applies pressure around my whole head, and that's where I find it to be the most helpful. I still need to put my head under hot running water to help with a full-blown migraine, but I've found the mask really helpful during times I've caught the migraine before it got too far.
Cupping seems to work better as a new sensation, like if somebody is describing muscle tightness or pressure (and a doctor has already checked them out so we know there’s no structural damage) they pull tissue away from the body which can simulate the release of pressure, which usually leads to the person say they felt a release of pressure or tightness, it’s not that complicated haha
I have the face mask and have been using it as my daily driver for over a year. I can't have any light or sleep is not possible, and it does what it says on the tin. The only thing I would say is that since it is so heavy if it is warm, you will sweat into it, and it is basically a sponge. But it goes through the wash and dryer just fine, so I do recommend it.
I bought the acupressure mat a few years ago. I use it every evening and it does help with my back. It’s not a cure for back pain, but it does stop the pain for a while. The pain is intense for a couple of minutes but then you stop feeling pain. I have my bare back against the mat which is on the floor.
Ok, but I found three things here I could definitely give as gifts to my bestie. Like the sleeping mask, she always needs sleeping masks, and that one looked comfy. And she loves to have safe around, and I’ve never seen red safe before. And the cute little messages in the bottle
Zach from Tryguys reviewed the last product (spike mat) as a product for chronic pain management, and iirc it did provide him some relief in that instance. Keith also tried it, and he opinion was more in line with Dr Mike's lmao. Just goes to show just how much chronic pain affects the body, and changes your relationship to pain in general
As someone with chronic pain and musculoskeletal issues, the acupressure mat is actually kinda awesome but I can see it not being a thing for everyone.
I also have chronic pain and the matt and pillow definitely help with the pain and help loosen up tight muscles. Afterwards any knots and tightness is gone, like I had a great massage or something, but even better.
8:24 If I woke up next to you wearing this, I would put some plastic googly eyes on the mask. This way I can at least look you directly in the eyes and say, what the heck are you wearing!

Obviously, it has nothing to do with digestion etc., but it does relieve neck/back soft tissue pain. And yes, it does hurt in the beginning but you get used to it. And of course, you have to be careful.
I love mine as well!
I have one and I honestly need to learn how to use it!
So many of these products make ridiculous claims and they shouldn't be claiming to cure anything.
I like the look of that red eye mask, though.
6:21 “do you feel the negative energy leaving?”
Not from the smoke, but from that face. Thank you for enlightening my night, Dr. Mike!!
The editors are on point as always! Gotta appreciate Dr Mike for sacrificing his sanity for entertainment, lol
Your content is always awesome, but big props for your edition team: they went crazy on this video, and I love it.
I love the little capsules, especially since there are other places where you can get them cheap! I used one as a gift with little notes I made inside, and they’re super fun :)
The editing of this video was immaculate please give your editor a raise 😂😂😂😂🎉
I agree 😂😂😂
This video is edited different and I like it. It is thoroughly entertaining.
The DNA REPAIRING TUNING FORK was hilarious though..😂😂😂
Yes!
This was the perfect editing 😂
I NEED MORE OF THIS. I never knew I needed Dr. Mike to react and use products with drunk vibes 😂
I would love to see drunk mike 🤣
more like high vibes in this case 🤣🤣
5:52 had me LOLing idk why😂😂the way he laughed
4:40 this is so cute he’s so happy 😂😂😂
@@stevenclark5173 mine is black as well.
I read this before the end of the video and I thought you meant Spike pillow as in Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 😂
@@FloriannaNatalie Haha, a reasonable assumption! 😄 Maybe it would also give healing vibes?
I got that spike mat for xmas years ago and I love it! Theres only one weird thing, it doesnt work (or even feel comfortable) when Im on my period, when I need it the most. Im totally jealous of your pillow, this is the first time Ive learned they exist!
@@janemiettinen5176 based on your name you are also from Finland? I found my shaped neck pillow (brand Infinita) from Ruohonjuuri, can recommend!
Don’t know about the claims in the description but I like it
Bear being a good boy and sitting and laying down when asked 🥰
That prickly pillow thing....I LOVE mine for my migraines! I'm not fond of the mat, though. I don't know how it works, acupressure, or whatever, but it helps!
I love the wobbly voice when reading the product descriptions so that these sketchy product makers can't clip you and pretend you endorsed them 😂
Oh, I was wondering what was going on with that
I didn’t even realize that’s what it was for. Genius actually. I thought it was a joke lol
Omg I didn’t even think of that!
Os that why? I thought he did it to sound as crazy as the fake health claims he was reading, as a way to add humor into the video.
6:10 And Bear lives to infinity an beyond
Looks like someone just watched Toy Story😂😂😂
The little sound machine is what I got my baby girl for travel! She LOVES brown noise, always helps her go to sleep
Yes! Brown noise! I love playing that at night. So relaxing. As an audiologist, I talk to my patients about white, brown, red, and pink noise, especially for tinnitus and hyperacusis. But I always tell them just to get an app on your phone or have Alexa play it.
I died laughing, the "auto-tuned" voice when Dr. Mike reads the title/info of these products is PERFECT! 🤣🤣🤣

Yes for chronic pain an tight muscles the spiked matt and pilloe are amazing!
Side sleeper here, I bought the sleeping mask (or super similar style) that you tried on @8:32 and it really is amazing. The foam around the eye area is super comfortable, only problem is the strap and sometimes slip position and dig into the ears.
i own a similar sleep mask and i wear a thin, tight toque underneath it when i sleep which seems to stop the strap moving around into my ears!
Speaking of packages, we need more mail time. This videos edit is fireee🔥🔥🔥🔥
We have an acupressure mat at home. My friend’s 18 year old Jack Russell loves walking on the mat and she will always seek the mat out whenever she comes over. It amazes me that a dog loves to walk on an acupressure mat.

5:46 I bought that stuff: it also increases constipation 😵💫😳😉

You are an absolute riot!! I am a hospice nurse and I love watching you; it warms the heart and the spirit! ❤ The wobbly sound effect is everything! 😂
1:01 the moral is read the instructions first 😂😂😂😂
Doctor Mike: The idea of the positive message bottle is a good one, but its poorly executed.
I'm watching this at work, and I don't think you know how hard it is to try to cackle quietly. I'm dying over here 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oddly specific, maybe your @ does indeed fit you
This is VERY specific but I’m a chronic illness girlie and find that cupping works VERY specifically for me.
You guys clearly had fun editing this! 😂 Awesome job!
I love that you are being educational but also at the same time being so silly. Never change ❤
Dr Mike we need more of these videos.
As a former med school major and RMA/AMT watching your videos make me so happy, especially when they’re super silly like this
The red-eye mask reminds me a little of the migraine mask my mom got me.
Thanks for cracking down on the dumb scams, Dr. Mike!
I LOL'd sooo hard at Dr Mike's face at 5:03 HAHAHAHA
We need to be hurt to be unhurt!
This way I can at least look you directly in the eyes and say, what the heck are you wearing!
your personality is so fun man. thanks for sharing yourself with the world! and thanks so much for being such a positive force in the world of health education!
Cupping is one of my favorite parts of a massage, it relieves so much tension.
