i have 1100 hours in northgard and 90% of the games are with stag. i do it quite different then what you suggest in this video. side note - i only play FFA or 2v2v2v2. so my strats wont be the best in teamgames. in general i will have mid scouted, cleared and colonized all tiles and all other adjacent tiles have no wolves (i can't be attacked or else i build a tower and delay silo), build 2 food buildings, 2 woodcutters, 2 silos and marketplace. before the first winter ends. then i get 2 stone miners going and 1 iron miner. then i do absolutely nothing until i can upgrade townhall and depending on how many ruins/shipwrecks you have it can be very easy or very difficult to get early altar.. sometimes the random nature of the game can be frustrating for this. some games i have altar only 3 months into the second summer and sometimes a full 12 months later.. it is what it is. from there you just get skalds going, tradeposts and upgrade your buildings, get smiths going. i personally never go for the relic, i rather improve my food and gold units. but that's just me. unless you get over 1000 fame i dont feel like the extra cost is really worth it. in late game i usually have anywhere from 19-23 warband and if nobody bothers me i can stack up like 4000 gold. at this point i upgrade my tiles for another building slot and spam trading posts to trade food with jotnar, having 14 merchants to trade food make alot of money =P really easy to bulldoze everything at that point. you make 20 army and it dies, you make another 20 army straight away. if that dies, you hapiness will be so high and you still will have tons of gold. the only problem i really struggle with as stag is when someone attack me before year 3. if i have to spend like 700 gold making like 10 warriors and shit then by year 4 i probably lose to horse or something. it just kills my momentum. i also take the most left military path. the bodyguard one. it gives all units +10% defence and at level 4 you get warcry ability. i really like it. on the ending note, once you get 1000 fame your chief becomes a absolute unit. just insane 27 defence and 120 hp. if you also pick the lore perk that increases chief stats 25%.

I love this, I haven’t played much stag but in 3v3 (what I primarily play) they usually aren’t very strong but I tried to get them up to speed as quick and efficient as possible for team fights. I see a lot of similarities with our builds. I can imagine stag being very strong in FFA and team FFA. After feeling safe I usually grab legendary heroes for chief but that’s around winter of 803 if the game is still going on. Thank you for taking the time to tell me how you play stag I always find it interesting to see how others play!
