I dont understand farmers in brazil preparing for isolation, they started saying this was first contact, so how could we be dependent on another worlds food supply.
I can't believe that AI can't pronounce simple English words. I remember a government presenter on TED, like that isn't already a B.S. flag, talking about tech that can produce images from human thought. Very vague, blurry images. She made a point, more than once, of being sure we understood this is the state of the art. Now how many people wouldn't automatically presume the state of the art is way beyond what some DARPA or such spokesman would present? All the AI stuff with silly and repeated mispronunciations is a drop dead lie. Quarantine is not similar to any other word I know. There is no pronunciation that approaches the -ine one this AI and all the others I've heard is married to. I can see some might require that the AI actually has some concept of meaning and context which we are supposed to obviously view as beyond the scope of state of the art language modeling. lies lies lies.
HFY and the likes were great, but I think we've reached a point where different stories are far between, it's getting somewhat repetitive at this point. This story is repetitive in and of itself, how many times does it need to repeat that the Galactic Council need to be shown the consequences of its actions? Is it necessary to repeat "what they've created" several times?
