Hi! Thank you for this video! It's really useful to know, especially for people who are just starting out. Our QA team also shared their trends; it's interesting to compare the answers
Most awaited video. Awesome as always . AI assistance is definitely on fire . I have personally observed that most of the companies are moving from UI to api as well. Its good to hear playwright will be the King :)
⭐ Service Virtualization ⭐is increasingly garnering attention in the SDET landscape. This technique, though not new, has recently gained popularity among SDETs, particularly for testing challenging scenarios. Given its rising significance, it merits inclusion in the top 10 list of essential tools and methodologies for software development and testing in 2024.
Hi Joe, such a great video! Thanks for creating it. I have a similar one in the pipeline 😁, with the focus on general software testing trends in 2024. Good to see some of the points in this video as well! I truly believe that AI will again be THE main topic in 2024 and beyond.
Not sure about framework but lots of folks use Pack docs.pact.io/blog/2018/07/24/contract-testing-a-graphql-api Also I spoke with Lewis Prescott about what he recommends for contract testing: testguild.com/podcast/automation/a399-lewis/
Will the importance of frameworks like cypress and playwright become less important as AI progresses? Things like getting rid of the framework / move towards less code tools? Kind of supported by point 2 - low code no code trend?
It's an interesting question! AI advancements could definitely impact the need for certain frameworks in the future but hard to predict right now. But my gut says yes :)
Joe i dont know if you remember me I was around in the very begining of the test guild conferences. I am going to get back into the testing field again. You were so helpful and straight foward. Thats what i have always about you Joe. I have been doing my best keep up with the podcasts. awesomeness always. I am hoping to attend the conferences this years. Joe please continue what your doing. When some ask me about resources for testing. You are the first person i recommend to go and read and listen too. I forgot to tell who i was James Henderson. Have an awesome day
Extremely comprehensive trends list. ChatGPT already part of our testing process. Some interesting mentions like observability, AI Ops are things to look out for. Thanks Joe, it puts a whole lot of things in perspective.
@@mistique0vin it gives you the general (high level) of test scenarios but chatgpt doesn't even know the app that you use. I don't think it is really useful at the project level.
Shift left, Containers are a "trend" for 2024? Dude its out there for over 10 years
Yes but this is a trend Specific to the adoption by testers for testing purposes like TestKube etc

What good frameworks are there for API contract testing?

@mistique0vin in what way you have used chatgpt for your testing. Can you give me an example please?
@@UGMAYU for manual test process, the testers use prompts along with user story to generate test scenarios and test cases.
@@mistique0vin it gives you the general (high level) of test scenarios but chatgpt doesn't even know the app that you use. I don't think it is really useful at the project level.
