@@Glee73I had a buddy whose callsign is Hodor because one time he tried to open a door without breaking his stride to impress a girl at the OC and ended up smacking himself in the face with the door instead 😂
Thanks Mover and Gonky! I seriously needed a good chuckle. I don't know which was better: Gonky's flyby with Mover on deck or Mover parking and the ejection. LMAO!
Our family got the Coleco "Telstar" pong game in the 70's. We hooked it up to our Zenith TV and we were amazed. Years later my father got me an intelivision console which, back then (early 80's) was very close to $300 ($900 in todays money). To see DCS an this level of graphical fidelity never ceases to amaze me.
Hilarious!!!! 😂😊 Hearing you guys play it's a wonder you guys actually flew real Hornets back in the day. I'm sure if tomorrow someone put you in a real Hornet, the real skills would come back rather quickly.
@@fbird90nw Yeah plus it's more difficult flying a keyboard. Basically trying to figure out what key does what function. CTRL-F, or SHIFT ALT A etc... Put them in a real cockpit and all the muscle memory comes back. Plus they can see the switch or button the need to push.
You can tell they’re real military pilots, because now that there’s no consequences, they are acting on the intrusive thoughts they’ve been having their whole career
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I'M NOT SURE I AM CAPABLE OF LEADING" after lighting up the entire Carrier. Too funny. Thank you both for your service to this Country.
Mover, you need to polish up your taxi skills on the boat. And always follow the flight directors hand signals or they will definitely signal you to get your head out of your "you know what." I speak from Personal experience! Loved your SHB with Gonky. How you two trapped, I'll never know? Watched both channels' videos. You two entertained an ole A-4 Driver! BZ!
Any landing where the aircraft is intact enough to eject from is basically perfect. Now all you gotta do is embrace the intrusive thoughts and try it in a Viper...
Well...I for one couldn't stop laughing!! From Gonky buzzing him a few times then shooting him before he had a chance to take off then Mover ejecting. Followed by the worst carrier trap I think I have ever seen to braking the jet trying to park and once again ejecting but killing himself landing head first into the island's many radio antenna's.
I wish I was drinking coffee so when Gonky did the flyby, I could spill my coffee all over myself, then come screaming at the CO that one of his snot-nosed jockeys did a flyby at over 400 knots.
that was frikin awesome...i like when the boys play like that...if youre not a wild one you don't deserve to fly a hornet...damn good plane that is,i love it
I know I asked prior, but do you feel the grades you get from LSO's in game are about what you would get in reality, less strict, more? I don't get many OKs even on passes that I think are perfectly safe.
*dangling over the Island rig from a parachute* Yeah, we just wanted to redefine what 'shithot' meant, Admiral. ... Um, can I get a ladder, -- or something? Sir?" *Watches as the Admiral talks amongst the Captain before yelling* "we arent going to court martial you, son... This will never go on record, ever. But we're transferring you BOTH to Alaska following an addendum to your new Yankee White clearance that comes with the heftiest non-disclosure agreement you've ever had to sign! THIS NEVER HAPPENED!" *Watches the senior staff exit the deck.* "About the ladder? SIR?!"
Very nice videos of you guys! There is one thing that I'd really like to know from both of you as you've both flown the real F-18C. Has any of you ever tried going full aft stick with full flaps (no matter if with gear up or down) and check to see how much AoA can the jet reach and settle at? What I'm asking is..., when flying with full flaps (landing flaps) and you pull full aft stick either gradually to not gain a too high pitch rate and possibly going over a dangerous AoA or gradually to not get into that situation..., I just want to know what would be the maximum AoA that the plane can reach in that configuration. In DCS, if you fly with full flaps, and have full elevator deflection by turning on the SPIN MODE switch that would allow direct pitch authority (if I'm not wrong), the plane can barely reach some 16 AoA or so. I doubt that is the case in reality. A reason for that is the fact that even with flaps for takeoff, the pitch down is so high that even with full pitch up elevators deflection, the DCS F-18C barely lifts the nose only over some 160-170KIAS when ALL other fighter jets normally can have enough aerodynamic pitch up moment to rise the nose gear at around 100..120KIAS and I don't think that the F-18 has a very forward center of mass compared to other fighter jets..., at least not as forward as a MIG-29 has, cause then it would make the F-18 a very highly stable in terms of pitch static stability, when the aircraft is defined to be statically unstable about a given range of AoA! Can any of you confirm at what KIAS can you lift the nose when taking off from the runway with takeoff flaps or landing flaps (if ever allowed) and what maximum AoA did any of you achieve with flaps deployed either for takeoff or landing. One thing that you can try in order to confirm to yourselves that the aerodynamic pitch down moment on the DCS F-18 when the flaps are fully extended (for the more exaggerated abnormal effect) is by pushing full stick forward and waiting there for a few seconds to gain enough negative AoA and just see what happens next without inputting any roll or rudder. You'll see the aircraft spring jump instantly into a negative 60 or so AoA and remain glued there no matter what inputs you try. Is that normal to you guys? Only after you rise the flaps you can reduce the negative AoA and regain normal flight. Try it! Regards! o7
I saw this pop up and I was thinking "Mover and Gonky playing a video game with F/A-18's and a carrier. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?" This is right up there with the Growling Sidewinder 2 Morons videos!! Great work!😂
Seems like a legit boldface Mover. “What’s all this noise?! Alright I’m getting out…”
(dies in the island rigging) 😂😂
“Are you sure you were in the Navy???” Lol best line yet brothah.
"That jet is completely useable again too."
LMFAO!
“Who’s up there?”
“Cougar and Merlin, and Mover and Gonky.”
“Great, Mover and Gonky.”
LOL.. its hard to actually believe thats their real callsigns.. unlike the "super cool" ones you hear in the movies. 🤣
@@Glee73I had a buddy whose callsign is Hodor because one time he tried to open a door without breaking his stride to impress a girl at the OC and ended up smacking himself in the face with the door instead 😂
I already saw Gonky's POV in the Ready Room, and I was looking forward to the flybys from Mover's POV. They did not disappoint.
I love everything about this! LOL. The banter is top notch!😎
Love these, I hope you start doing more of these with Gonky. a series of this is great!
Would love a mover and gonky dcs flying series
I'm gonna tell my kids this is Top Gun.
I was beginning to doubt you guys were pilots until Mover ejected onto the island. That takes some special kind of skill.
Thanks Mover and Gonky! I seriously needed a good chuckle. I don't know which was better: Gonky's flyby with Mover on deck or Mover parking and the ejection. LMAO!

Gonky's flybys look so much more aggressive from this angle, fun to see from both povs. Love the content and love the books, just picked them up.
the Gonky, in his natural environment! -in David Attenborough voice
Gonna need to see a cas/bombing comparison between you guys now love seeing you guys back in dcs and goofing off
Mover vs Gonky bombing competition would be hilarious. 10/10 they need to do that!
2:34 The crew sure have some grippy shoes on to not just get blown away by that flyby!
you mean the helpers...

Perfect flight guys. Nailed the traps

WOMBAT is not going to be impressed with those approaches lol
should get WOMBAT to debrief those traps!
Welcome aboard with a ramp strike. You're a qual!
WOOHOO!!! More Mover/Gonky DCS content, yes! 👍👍👍👍
Hearing Gonky snicker as hes coming in for a strafing run, then his boisterous laugh when he connects. This is Gold! Series Please!!!!!!
I laughed so hard, Gonky’s commentary is perfect.

I just caught the tail end of this and unfortunately Mover will NOT be attending the debrief 🤣😂😝💥
He will be, just not...you know...in the "alive" sense of the word.
Gonky was spicy today. Amusing to watch. Holy crap I thought Mover was going to deck strike for sure. That was super close.
@2:38 That fly by would make Maverick cry! That was RIDICULOUS! LOL!
What a hoot... loved it! Just the tonic to put a smile on my dial!
Mover, I hate to break it to you, but if you’ve lost your stick, you may need to see a Dr. I hear there are options in 2023 😏
Those aftermarket sticks are definitely troublesome. Especially if the parts are not American made.

This that old ass man humor
Or get a job in beer advertising
I thought Mover was lining Gronky up for a back door surprise, after taking those pot shots on the boat. Superb video.
What a flyby...😎 and a great parking job!
You could tell Gonky was much more comfortable at the boat. Loved when Gonky shot Mover, lol!
Zero-zero only works if you're wings level, sir
Works a lot better if you don't hit the island too.

Comedy gold gentleman!! These DCS videos are great! Love the banter!
Have you seen the Hornet that tried to do a cobra maneuver and crashed in Zaragoza? what do you think could have happened?
You guys had me in stitches with this one. Thanks for the laughs, great video.
That was fantastic! BTW, Mover, you're editing is much better that Gonky's... I glad you guys were able to get together and have some fun!
you guys should play a full campaign from the carrier. It would be hilarious
Impressive to see the US Navy's finest!
(The deckhands. I'm talking about the deckhands obviously).
That was entertaining and funny! I don't care what ANYONE says!
The constant state of mild panic in Gonky's voice is what im here for
This, 100%. Also thinking to myself…man, am I glad I’m not the Air Boss right about now…
"oh boy.... oh boy..."
I think you did great for the first time and plane issues well or pilot haha, you 2 have so much!
Enjoyed the video. Lots of fun to watch and listen to the banter.
Danger Zone only works with Tomcats and Super Hornets.
Lana!
Was that an official kill for Gonky?
This definitely reminds me of when Growling Sidewinder and LongShot get together for some ops of some sort.
Mover, when the F/A-18D comes out by IDF Mods Project will you and Gonky play it since it’s multicrew?

Gonky, that was the greatest flyby ever 💪🇺🇸
love seeing you two goof off in dcs
Ejecting into the tower was the icing on the cake. This was great!👍
This is basically my friend and I in every DCS mission ever.
The backspace key to toggle the stick view. With clean aircraft 12 degree is fine.
That was the fastest 14 minutes of my life! More content with gonky goofing around in dcs!
It is great to see the other perspective! Saw Gonky's edit yesterday at Ready Room. LOL.
'Lost my stick.'
Forgot where you put it.
Great video. Funny as all heck.
Too darn funny…… Keep it up bro’s 🇺🇸
Best thing I watched today. And most of yesterday.
OMG.....the first 8 minutes are friggin' hilarious.😂
Absolutely brilliant, great fun :)
Santa's helpers 😂
I was a at crew chief. Helpers is fine 😂
Awesome! Only thing missing was a certain former LSO and Mustang driver extraordinaire piling on the sh!t talk.
Too funny! Thanks for the laughs, guys.
Mover: "I lost my stick"
Me: "So to speak"
What have you done to me, Mover?
That landing sequence was perfect!
Somehow you have to get Gonky & Ray in the same Tomcat...
Next time, load a sidewinder and pop your lead. Serves him right for strafing you and your "helpers" with 20mm rounds. 😂😂
The sims are amazing but you cant replicate the feel of real flying and being there risking your butt

LMAO! Gonky picks on the nugget! Love it!
