I know it can be expensive depending on insurance, but I try to tell everyone to see if your insurance has mail order and what the price is. My insurance is $180 if I go to the drug store for a 1 month supply but it is only $125 for a 3 month supply through the same drug store mail order division. Insulin is similarly discounted and comes in a very well insulated cooler with cold packs. Also, use SkinTac liquid, give it a run around the outer edge of the overlay, when you apply it. Also, problems happen. I had a sensor go crazy on day 8, Dexcom replaced it. The replacement I put in also had a problem, the filament didn’t go under my skin, it wouldn’t connect to my receiver or phone, and Dexcom replaced it also. Keep in mind, you get unlimited replacements if the sensor fails (I.e. crazy readings or sensor problem that doesn’t go away), and 3 human error replacements per year (banging against a door), I forget the other human error categories, but at least put in for a replacement if it happens! PS, I am LADA, diagnosed at 59, 4.5 years ago… and am semi-retired

Nagh you good , I hit doorways that knocks it off , taking off my tshirt snags it knocks it off , I now put it way back of arm where the back of my arm touches my torso , it works good there and doesn’t hit the doorways no more. But yea but losing the sensor is a big time bummer haha ✌️😎

I started using the G7 after being hospitalized with diabetic ketoacidosis. They are expensive even with prescription drug coverage. I talked to my health insurance company and they told me that because it is a needed diabetic supply, they can cover the cost and run it through the medical coverage. We'll see. I agree with you. I do not like needing a secondary monitor so I can check if my b.s. seems low or high. The last sensor was off by over 40. This one varies by only 10%.

I started using the Dexcom G7 3 months ago and I've been doing through similar experiences however the G7 seems to be better then some of the other CGM I Had used in the past. THe G7 also behaves weird based on position I sit in, .e.g if I lean to my right the sugar level shoots up by 40 points vs if I lean left it comes down by 32 points. The reason why Dexcom last lesser days then in Europe is nothing but GREED . Someone somewhere making money .

I had have few failures at times when my sensor was covered with a cloth ( I wear it on my right arm - upper shoulder ) , the sensor during that time ( 15 to 20 minutes) could not read my blood sugar.

    Addendum: you are NOT unrealistic.
