Coming soon, he’s going to do a video introducing modular shipping containers. The various sizes of 20’, 40’, and other sizes of shipping systems. So that he has a place to store all his toolboxes.
I'm in the process of switching from makpac to metabox which are much easier to stack and get into Metabox will go on top of makpac. Dont think metabox clip onto sys3 but they are the same 400x300 footprint
My biggest disadvantage of the new Sys³ is the change of direction of the top handle. To stack you have to slip the top box slightly from the front, pushing the old Handle out of way. They absolutely messed this up.
The mentioned problem with the handle seems to be only when looking Sys3 with non Sys3 Systainers. With only Sys3 the handles are flush. What you missed to mention though: Some people prefer the older Systainer handles. The Sys3 on the other hand have the small handles on the front, what I do like. Also there are Systainers with a drawer on the bottom (Systainer combi) and you can take the 3x drawer Systainer apart and lock it to such a systainer and have e.g 2 drawers on the bottom then. Also there is a Systainer with a big drawer and a small one (Sortainer). Unfortunately, they do not offer a Systainer with 2x equally big drawers. A lot of power tools do not fit into the small ones and for some it would be way more handy to store them in a drawer and not having to take a stacked container tower apart to reach a tool. The normal Systainers are available with extra compartments in the lid and there are also Toolbox Systainers Hence: Hm. After 10min I am not a huge fan of the video. From my point of view so much more information, you could have provided instead of "oh there are a lot of companies using them in different colors"!
im about to build a wall for systainers in my shop. Right now it is mostly makpak as i got like 30 of them from a friend who works at a place that throws them .
Have a number of the Makita boxes that came with tools in them, but I find the system is a bit brittle for site works and leave them in the garage / workshop.
Festool is most know, cause both Tanos and Festool are under TTS Tooltechnic Systems AG & Co. KG. (along with Narex, Sawstop, and now Shaper Tools). Sortainer is reason why Im buying Festool/Tanos boxes now. Added foam (sadly not yours as I would, but import tax would be a pain ever since your country wanted independence) and those drawers are amazing. Got from mini ones for my bits to that huge 3 drawer one. I do wonder why you dont try to sell custom labels for the Tanos-made boxes as extra service.
I wouldn't sell the average joe so short, the point of this video is that you can get a systainer at an affordable price, just perhaps not a festool branded one!
Not a great looking box when you consider what is now on the market , not sure I like the locking mechanism , but loving the tool box song need to release this get it to no 1
Makpac also has: 1. a 12 drawer - similar to festool for small parts. 2. A 4 drawer with 3 small drawers and a larger single drawer 3. A 5 drawer with the same 3 small drawers as the 4 drawer unit above plus two drawers. (Festool has combi sortainers that are similar but not) I find makpac drawe units to be phenomenal and address opening boxes on the bottom of stacks as their biggest advantage over most tool box systems. Another great advantage is that the small is equal in height to a medium. A small and medium is the same height as a large and an xl is a large and small (or two medium) boxes. Festool used to work out like this but they messed up with the sys 3 and beyond in the heights (137mm, 187mm, 237mm, 337mm and 437mm - plus the odd sized top rock box, tool box, etc). The latching system- is the biggest drawback on the makpacs. Antiquated compared to t-lock and other systems. One drawback of combining macpaks with festool systainers (gen 2 and beyond) is the macpaks Have to be under the systainers. Lastly- the basic makpac boxes are more competitively priced than festool. The accessories are harder to find in the states though. When it comes tot he makpac drawer units versus the festool sortainers- pricing is nearly identical. For anyone doubting Systainer- check out the channel “finish carpentry tv”. He recently switched from packout and while I’ve always had tanos products he makes good points about the size of packout versus usable space when compared to tanos products. And is tanos as durable- nope but I don’t beat the hell out of my tools. They are how I make a living and an investment. Same for my tools storage and transport.
In general you are right. But my oldest Systainer is now 25Years+ old, has seen tons of construktion-sides, and despite a shift to yellow colour it still holds strong today. Some much younger lever toolboxes made from Metall died in that period from rusting away. Systainers aren't for everyone everywhere, but till today I didn't find something better for my purposes.
@@ArminOsäure The yellowing is the UV resistance being burnt off in the day and sunlight prob. There is missing plans on the internet for toolboxes I was thinking of doing some. Have you heard of lightweight ply Morland in UK makes it, so you would make toolbox from it, its lifetime product then, just repaint ofthen, paint being scraficial.
@@jcoul1sc of course one could make their own toolboxes. sometimes it might even be nessery, because there might be no fitting toolbox. i made a systainer like/compatible toolbox from wood loosly to plans by Timothy Wilmots. But personaly i think, mostly i dont have the time for this. it fits my jigsaw perfect, improves my workflow and accuracy wih the jigsaw and was fun to build. but it also took me ages. if i have to replace couple of systainers every 30 years, thats fine with me - some i have to replace bevor i retire, some i just wont replace because i have retired by then. some will outlive me.
You’ll going to need your own warehouse just for all your toolboxes soon! Keep up the great work these videos always make me smile
That's the plan!

Wow. I use the makpak but I never knew it was the same as the festool. I still prefer makpac colour
It is a cool teal 😎

For a while Siemens Automation supplied various PLC / VFD starter kits in a Tanos branded systainer
Would’ve loved to have taken that up! 👍
I love the systainer system. And now that bott created the bott smart trailer rack system I’ll be getting that as well.

I have a bunch of the MakPak. But here in the USA they can be pricier than I’m comfortable spending. Especially the drawer boxes.

Have you seen our Makita video?
@@shadowfoamplus Yes, I did see the one a few videos back on the new system. I have the old ones though 😕
Shadowfoam should be a tanos stockist !
Hahaha standing by for the full tool box song release. Think I can annoy r lass with that. 😂😂
The cantilever one is super cool!! (as is the toolbox song)
Thanks Chris, would you like to hear more?
@@shadowfoamplus Sure would matey
I’ve never seen any of those boxes here in US
I was on the festool boxes but moved to packout just feels more robust

świetne punkty kolego
There’s a load of tanos medex boxes floating around atm on marketplace between £5-£20
My headaches... So confusing but at the same time a real boon if you do mix & match.... Bob (Albion Decoration) Weston super Mare.
definitely a plus for mix and match, which means an easy way to save money on boxes

I bet there all different prices depending on the name
Oh absolutely! 👍
Clearly this is not intended for the average Joe who can only dare to dream of owning anything Festool. Do Black & Decker make anything similar?

Where can I find the Metabo systainer?
In Narnia.
They used to sell Metabo in systainers but now they have changes suppliers.
Really hard to find the Metabo sys boxes.
@@harveysmith100 Thanks
Metabo uses its own system called metabox now.
@@T4b10 They use cases made by Plaston cases, they are OK, stack and lock, not as good as the TLoc but a lot cheaper and yes, they call them Metabox

Trying to decide on a system to use is not a easy thing to do,dang to many choices
That’s why we started this channel, we’re going to work through them all 👍
1 man 1000 beautiful women your pick of one.
Are Tanos and Sortimo two different companies? I'm an L'boxx man myself. 😀
No, L-Boxes are Bosch and Sortimo collab design.
Not sure I'd trust that single locking mechanism... With full boxes does it really hold?
Check videos of people drop testing the boxes.
Go on then we all know you want to give us the full length version of the toolbox song 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Very soon 👀
