    What an awesome looking boat! It looks like a tank on the water! That entire transom setup is fantastic and well thought out.
    Only thing I don’t like about this boat is the constant slapping sound of the water against the hull. That would drive me crazy!

    You can get really nice Eva rulers which would look good on your gunwhales.

    Great review, hoping to get one of these at some point. One thing I can recommend is replacing all the stainless screws with alloy rivets, I still find it strange that boat builders use stainless screws in aluminum. I've had a few older boats with crazy corrosion around every stainless screw.

      That is great advice. It will make your boat last a lot longer!

    Really appreciate this review mate.
    To be honest there aren't enough grass root video reviews on nz built boats. I'm tired of videos showing off unlimited budget builds that end up being $200k loaded with tech normal blokes can't afford. So a down to earth review on a budget is choice 👍🏽
    I've been waiting for this review as I was originally looking at an F16 build. Contacted Frewza who were great but another manufacturer from invercargill caught my eye so I ended up locking in a 6.0 fisher due feb/March 23.
    Appreciate you discussing your features too, really helps a "first boat" owner dial in and finalize choices closer to build time.
    I will definitely be doing a walk through video and a boat review after a few months use.
    Cheers bro!

    Great Boat mate love your videos. Is it just LED strip lighting you used in the gunnels for the red deck lighting. Looking to do similar in my F14

    When choosing a fish finder make sure the processor keeps up with the movement of the boat, ie when you are over a mark make sure the screen portrays your position in real time not, where you were seconds ago. (sometimes critical on a reef.) I have found mine takes time to catch up with the boats direction and movement especially in a current, otherwise its great. Got a Frewza 18 Fisher perfect for fishing off the coast so really appreciate your video, buying the hull was just the start of spending.

    Great looking boat and a brilliant review. Might just be the video but the alloy looks as though its immaculate - do you do anything (lanolin etc) to look after it? Cheers

      Wipe down with a mixture of kerosene and compressor oil. 1/2 cup oil to a litre of kerosene and use sparingly - wax on, wax off. It replaces the oxidation With a light film and keeps it shiny. Do that every now and then.

    great informative review, thank you. im looking at a F15 fisher. what are the pros and cons of a 4mm hull or a 5 mm hull. either would have a full keel strip. thanks

      Peace of mind, extra weight, stronger boat and less flex. Build it stronger than it has to be and it should see you right.

    Hi.
    Considering you've had the f14 and now the f16. If you where too do it over again with comparable accessories. Is the f16 being a bit bigger etc worth the extra price, obviously you've got the added speed with the extra HP, but like for like is it worth spending the extra 12k for a bit bigger and extra HP or would you go cheaper and get the f14?
    Any insight would be great before I sign on the dotted line and purchase one
    Thanks
    Tom

      @tomd6885 f16 is an unbeatable hull, economical and capable of handling seas well above what you would bother going out in. F14 can do almost everything the f16 can, but with less space. Think about how you will use the boat 90 percent of the time and go with what seems the most suitable. For me, it's solo missions launching in remote areas, so a smaller, lighter, cheaper boat suited my needs

    Hey Bro, Awesome videos. Watched all your videos and must have watched this video over a dozen times. If you could go back would you have gone bigger? My build should start in the next couple months on my F16 but thinking the F18 might be better with a small family, do you find the F16 comfortable enough with the wife and kids? Cheers.

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate, if money was no issue and we had better launching in the Nelson area then of course I would go bigger. But running costs go up significantly from this size upwards, as does the towing vehicle. In reality, this is the biggest I could go and still beach launch it as much as I do. F16 is fine with wife and two kids, maybe if that is the intended use the iceytek seating would be a good option, when the kids come out with me I just use a 70l burnsco chilly bin with a squab as extra seating

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in front of me. From what I remember:
      Upgraded to 5mm floor, no tread plate
      Walk thru transom
      Double transom hatches
      Underfloor storage
      Rod holders
      Split windscreen
      Full length keel strip
      Upgraded hull thickness
      Then the add ons like Eva foam floor which I did myself (video on here)
      Lighting
      Cup holders
      Rod holders
      Twin battery
      Twin fuel tank system with isolation valves

    How do rate the windshield?

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s great. Keeps the wind off and provides great access around the boat. Could do with being a bit stronger around the top to provide a holding point when walking up the front, but I don’t do that often because of the split windscreen

    • @SteadliestCatch
      @SteadliestCatch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@matthewslatter8791 I live in South Island and I am boating throughout the year, the cabin keeps me warm and dry, out of the wind and creates a big, dry storage area for gear on the multi day trips. Centre or side console would make for some pretty miserable winter missions in my opinion
