    My guy would probably get too much grass with that muzzle. He learned how to tilt head & feed longer grass in on one muzzle. I tried Greenguard too, which also let in too much grass. Ended up finding the Tough-1 Easy Breather V-strap muzzle the best. Added extra strap with latch to help support velcro plus used Gorilla tape to make smaller opening (only dime sized is allowed). I haven't found it to get too ucky. I have washed & dried a few times, but no problems.

    Was she able to eat hay? That's my question. I still have hay in the feeder as the run in area is attached to it and in bad weather they horses come in to the run in. They 'll munch on the hay, and of course, with a muzzle on he has a difficult time trying to get that hay. Also can't get the salt lick on the rope. Thanks for the review,, very informative,,

      Thank you Elaine! We are really enjoying the Flexible Filly Muzzle. But, my piggy pony may need the smaller size hole!

    Hello, thank you for the interesting video, does the Thinline halter size big? I hesitate between the size horse or big horse/ draft horse... Thank you so much!

      Hi Lou- I found I needed to size down for two different horses.

    This was excellent! Any suggestions for a horse that just stands for hours and refuses to eat out of it?😕

      Thank you! Some of the things I do include; Pick small amounts of treats, grass or hay and hand feed through the hole. Only put the muzzle on for an hour the first day or two and continue to offer hand feeding or offering chopped hay on the ground. Slowly build up wearing time. Also play with the fit. My horses seem to do best with the muzzle fit so that it “hangs” 1 to 2 inches from their lips while resting. Also, the padding set for the halter is a great investment. If the halter is rubbing or uncomfortable they also may not want to graze. Wishing you luck!

      @@StableGeniusEquine thank you so much!!! I’m trying the thin line this spring as my mare would not eat out of the others I tried last year. Hoping your advice helps.😊🐴😊

      @@peteyCLC My mare in the video also got very discouraged in other muzzles. She's totally happy in the Flexible Filly and actually "helps" me put it on.

    How is it when it's hot out?

    • @StableGeniusEquine
      @StableGeniusEquine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lisa, The muzzle itself is very breathable and my horse seems very comfortable. She can get a little sweaty under the crown of the halter. That's why I like the removable pads. Easy to rinse or wash if they get stinky.

      @@StableGeniusEquine Thanks for the info. It gets pretty hot and humid in WI during the summer, so I hate to put anything on her that impeeds her breathing. PS my mare your horse could totally be twins!

    I am torn between the horse and the cob sized halter. My two horses take a "horse" size everything (never a cob). Did you have to send yours back for the smaller sizes after getting them??

    • @StableGeniusEquine
      @StableGeniusEquine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Holly, My horses required a definite size down. Horse required a cob and Cob required a pony. Neither one are usually "in-between" sizes.
