I must admit my wife has done a 4x4 course and does help unhitch the van. We carry all the safety gear inducting an AED, but again, wife is not sure about it all. So after your video, we are going to have a little training on all the gear and communication gear. Thanks again and look forward to more of your videos. BTW, were are on the road as well. My experience in 2023 driving the Savannah Way near Hells Gate is not to drive on the shoulder of the road were less people have driven, especially after the road has been graded. The reason being the grading of the road turned over sharp rocks but hid them just under the surface so they were not visible. Our convoy ended up getting multiple staked tyres this way. The middle of the road might be more corrugated, but at least you can more easily see the sharp rocks and avoid them. By the time we got to Boroloola there was a line up of 6 vehicles at the tyre repair place, all with punctured tyres they got near Hells Gate.

      @@p00595p Good call mate, and certainly true for debris on highways etc too. As with all things you make the judgement call, there’d been no grader through in a long while and the shoulder had been driven multiple times in this instance.

    Great video, really enjoyed watching it! I've just bought a Everest 3.2 in the same shape as your Ranger. @@Kayno961 Hey mate, I got the training through various courses required for sea survival and sailing, etc. I made the kit myself with the majority of it being medications and items that can be bought over the counter. Other things like EpiPens, and the green whistle require valid scripts to obtain. Hope that helps!

    • @highvibe4839
      @highvibe4839 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@adventureintelaustraliathankfully you gained the knowledge and did those courses, hence a much better outcome for you. My husband used to do many sailing races along the east coast of Oz.
      It is mandatory that two people on board boats are certified with the survival at sea courses. The race organisers recommend their Doctor of choice to prescribe the heavy duty drugs.
      We had to spend an absolute fortune on meds, that you may never use, but just in case, my husband had to practice doing injections on an orange. During these races they also have doctors on VHF radio in case of any medical emergencies, as they will talk with the vessel and advise what to do, and organise air lifts if needed. You can understand why having a UHF radio connected to your vehicle in the outback is life saving. We were fortunate that my hubbys best mate is a paramedic who did most of these races so long as we kept him safe, we were safe. 😅
      Who would have thought a spider on a shirt in the middle of nowhere, could change your life in a heartbeat, makes us think twice about where we drop our clothes, and towels now.
      Great episode considering, with a happy ending.
