    Very cool.Kind of nice to see a little bit of foreign power now and again.The pullman was a great catch also!

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, there's a hardly any foreign power leading on CSX anymore.

    Loved that angle shot.and the georgeouse sunset shot.beautiful pullman car.wish id been there to see it in person.good lashups too.the 2 locos at the end of the train.take up the slack.nothing worse n a broken coupler.engineers worst nightmare.

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shooting at sunset is nice, but if the train is a bit late things get messed up quickly. I was happy it worked out. We had a lot of broken knuckles on this line a few years back, but well-positioned DPs indeed helped preventing such nightmares most of the time in recent years.

    The opening shot was so cool. Looked like some kind of cyclops monster coming up out of a pit, LOL. If that Pullman car could talk, the stories it would tell....my, my. Grateful that nothing happened even though that was a nasty looking cloud deck above you.
    I've come to the conclusion that Howie siding is just about my favorite spot when I watch your videos. Loved the one looking back towards the mill. Looks like Norman siding is where you got the opening, "coming up out of the pit," shot for Q580-22. I like it!! With a BNSF lead to boot!
    Thanks for taking me on a trip with you, LOL. Good stuff!

      It's a rather short video, but there's so much to talk about it in it. Yeah, the Pullman car. It has been through a lot of history, for sure. Howie is also my favorite. It simply offers a multitude of perspectives and there's always an angle that works under any light condition. Norman is a little ways to go; but I had to do it. Otherwise I had run out of light for Q580. It was worth it! Great you like the video.

    The two different Tier 4 locomotives on the first train are wonderful. That Pullman car is more than 110 years old, which is incredible. I'm sure the museum will be happy to exhibit it. The BNSF pumpkin is a pleasant surprise, foreign power is always much appreciated. Great trains and cool locations again, thanks for the quality update. :)

      To get that BNSF leader in the last daylight required some effort, but it worked. The Pullman car was a total surprise. I was happy to catch it. One rarely sees these old cars moving. You're welcome!

      @@mbmars01 From what I gather this locomotive has a 4500 hp 12 cylinder four stroke engine with a welded block but I'm not sure of the welded block part.

    Awesome catches MBM, and definitely a lot of GEVO power at the front! I can understand what you meant abt the 1+2 power arrangement. However, it makes sense to have 2 at the bottom when moving AUTORACKS to take the massive strain off the knuckles and couplers at the same time. I'd rather have them pushing when you're moving 1000's of tons. Thanks again for sharing your videos and look fwd to seeing the next one!

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you are probably right about pushing being better than pulling under some circumstances, but it was the first time I saw such a power configuration on this line. Good you like watching the videos here, thanks.
