I wish the Nike Airship would be sold on its own, even if it’s a rerelease later on. They have a Back to the Future-esk vibe to them. I f*ck with anything that’s 80s.
Have the same energy man 80s and 90s stuff even outside of clothes.
If they were to sell them on their own I think they should go all out. New colorways, old colorways but put onto the shoe, (like the bred colorway but with a red toe box and outsole) and just treat it like it’s own shoe.
I just want the Air Ship, they can keeps those OG 1’s

The red color way was a PE sample for Jordan
It’s really similar to the Silver Medal 1.
And to add on the Jordan 1s never had soft leather. It was smooth, but it was never tumbled or pebbled. (the look of the leather surface) - Jordan 1s weren’t made out of handbag leather like these recent retros-it was like the leather you see on wallets or dress shoes from the 1900s.

why do people associate leather quality with being soft.... just cuz a leather is soft don't mean its quality.... a ton of high quality leathers are stiffer and require to be broken in.... im sure that the quality may be shit on these.... but what if it's stiff and breaks into a great leather like a baseball glove

The toe shape on them 1's is on point!
What you are calling the lock down portion on the Ship's I believe was actually a flap covering a slit in the shoes meant to allow them to flex. That was Nike's innovation in the eighties. Pretty sure if you peak under you might see the upper is two pieces. Also believe both sneakers are MJ PE's from his first couple years that will likely be the store. The Air Ship in this pack is cut much lower than the released version of the Air Ship. Also I believe his PE has the updated outsole which was later on the AJ1. The AJ1 in this pack was also his PE.

Air Ships are SO CLEAN. It’s almost like the sweet spot between the AJ1 and the Blazer 👏🏽
Here from the future to say that, Airships are back as GRs and all AJ1s retail $180-$200 now.

The leather isn’t plastic, the quality is actually real genuine leather and as the cut is similar to the ‘95 retros
Genuine leather is basically the cheapest leather you can get so that’s why it seems “plastic” to them.

Guys google it, the AJ1 was a PE colorway and the Airship is a Hybird PE model that was done for Jordan specifically. It was a test shoe for the Jordan 1, that’s why it has the Jordan 1 sole rather than the OG airship sole. Also the cut is lower than the OG airship as it was per MJ specs.
Please do the 2020 Chicagos!

Nike Air Ship & The original Air Jordan I "Black Toe" (which MJ worn on the card) and later came out as the "old love / new love pack" with the jumpman on the tongue and not the Nike branding.
Or: Nike Air Ship and one Air Jordan 1 w/o the wings logo. instead of the wings logo they should use "air jordan" which was on the "black toe" & "bred / banned" which Jordan held over his shoulders on 1985 photos for nike. Those shoes were also never released

You should have compared the air jordan 1s with an actual 1985 pair. Of course the leather of the 1985 pairs are dry but nike did such a good job on this pack! You see that because they nailed every detail. Just the toebox is a little bit flat but they said that's how Jordans PE's were made. And I think the quality was really close back in 1985 and they tried to bring that back.
Can't believe you say "the quality is not good" just because you didn't have known what good quality is.
You can compare your review with Vintagekicks Gallerys review and I think you should overthink some things what you guys said.

The ships are the PE's, meaning the cut is lower to how Jordan had it in 84. Accurate yes, but not to the retail model.
