Double Chargers! Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 10.9.2024

On this day, I got word that Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #580 would have two Chargers leading. Having not caught a double-header SC-44 Charger set, I set out to Sorrento Valley to catch the train.
At 5:30pm, Amtrak #580 flys down the grade into Sorrento Valley station with SC-44 #2122 leading, and #2118 right behind. Interestingly, these two units are being produced in N scale by Kato. I will definitely be remaking this consist once those sets are available to the public.
Less than a minute later, Amtrak #587 makes its way thru the station, rocking an entirely Surfliner car schemed set. Quite an aesthetic reward.
