- Over the past few months, I was getting a lot of questions about how to apply for the permesso di soggiorno, what the process is like, etc. I finally wanted to make a quick video to walk you through it.
This handy dandy envelope is only the first step of the journey, but I hope this makes you feel a little less overwhelmed.

Hey Jodi! So sorry that I dropped the ball and life took over but I am currently recording a batch this week!
For your appointment at the Questura bring along: 4 passport photos, your original passport and visa/ permesso, all the copies of everything you included in the packet you sent with the post office and your receipt with the appointment info!
Then I highly recommend bringing a book, snacks and a power bank bc the wait can be long 😅

You mean the paper with all the different necessary documents? If you would like to find it in Italian you'll need to do a little digging search for Permesso di Soggiorno XXXX the title of your specific. Depending on how much you pay when you apply it can be between three months and five years. You can find all the details in my Moving to Italy Guidebook linked in the description!
Applying takes just a day but the process of receiving can take up to 6+ months

Hi how are you, do you know if I can apply for this permesso at 16? I’ll be moving abroad alone next year and I want to know if being under 18 will be a problem when applying for the permesso.
Hey! as long as you have the visa, you should be able to apply the permesso. However just like with the visa you might have to show additional paperwork signed off by your parents!
hello, thankyou for this video, I wanted to know if I have to deal with the health insurance in Italy first and then deal with the permesso di siggiorno, or will that travel health insurance do?
also I would like to know if there is a problem if I put an address and then move in to another one.
