You guys have Tom Misch, Melanie Faye, and Curt Henderson as your reps for the new series. It almost feels like you're advertising directly to me (and people like me). It's a good thing I already have an American Strat, otherwise I'd be jonesing so damn hard right now.
@@iannaval8212 haha i Think john mayer and his show off blues is trash. Tom Misch make some awesome disco, funk, jazz and soul music. John mayer has only his boring blues riffs
It's funny because Tom uses his John Mayer signature strat on like 90% of his songs, he gets so much of his bite and tone from that guitar. But since John left Fender it seems like they're using Tom to push the new line of strats hahah. Sweet vid nontheless
For once someone who knows about John for his blues music and not his pop. Srv was and always will be his hero. His high school days were filled with blues. He’s done his thing with the trio and continuum but we all want him to go back to SRV and jimi and channel that again. That’s his stuff. I can only hope.
SergeantPlant Oh trust me I have. I was just saying that it’s not necessarily straight up blues, unless he’s with the trio and doing that kind of thing. Check out my playlists, you’ll see all of the performances I’m aware of. I’m kinda a John Mayer junky, i literally know everything about him since he was 13 and started playing guitar after hearing Texas flood. Everything from his band called Villanova junction to his srv signature strat and Tattoo. I know it all 😂.
SergeantPlant I never said he didn’t do it anymore...... I simply stated that he’s not known for blues by the average girl or guy that has just heard of his name. If you were to ask people I think the majority would label Mayer as a pop artist. Real fans and people really into music know about his chops. I also stated that he doesn’t do blues all the time. That’s cuz he doesn’t. He does all different genres. Which is true. Just cuz I said that, doesn’t mean I said he still doesn’t do blues anymore.... he always has and I hope he always will.
I’ve had my honeyburst performer since about June 2019 and it’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a strat / guitar all together. The sound, feel and aesthetic are all superb. It was a real challenge when hunting for the right strat for me from previous years, models and the newer lineups and I’m really glad it all aligned with the American performer.
He is still using his JM strat alot. I was at this show and saw the white plate of a new Fender! It sounded stunning! The Paradiso in Amsterdam is stunning aswell
Really great video production. Fender has absolutely the best, most high quality production videos. They make you fall in love with their instruments with each video. Not to mention the exposure to really great up and coming artists. Win win all around. I love Fender Play too.
Yeah he's had the same guitar for years. Which gig was this at, Amsterdam? Great looking venue. Don't think I saw him play this guitar in London.

@@MonticArckeys It was at Paradiso in Amsterdam yes! I actually met his tour manager after the show and asked what guitar he was playing. He told me it was for a Fender commercial, turned out to be a pretty cool video haha!
fender has already introduced me to sam fender, the undercover dream lovers, cherry glazerr, and now this. damn fender got a taste for picking up artists. keep doing this fender!
lotsa youngins are bringing back the performance aspect and musicality in the modern industry. these days you can be an unknown artist on the media spectrum, yet still thrive, and artists like tom are proving it.
I’d really like to start incorporating this kind of guitar playing into my music but don’t know where to start. What sort of scales and theory should I be using to get that Tom Misch sound? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You got it wrong. Make it made in US but available to everyone in the world. Or at least, Europe. Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying my MIJ Competition Mustang. ;)
Anybody know the kind of pedal he's using for Disco Yes in the intro?? It's similar to the guitar effects on Redbone- almost like some type a subtle wah effect. I haven't been able to dig anything up on it. Any gear nerds out there?
right apparently its an envelope filter (I read through loads of comments because I'm cool like that). But I have to admit gear won't help me as much as the practice I'm avoiding ahaha.
i love how fender actually features relatively unknown but super talented musicians like tom.
That's how it should be as well. There are tons of people that deserves attention
Oh yeah yeah
Lol Tom Misch isn't 'unknown' in the UK
Drew Mac Fender is an American company so it’s really cool that they’re introducing us Americans to super talented people like Tom
Drew Mac “Relatively”

if John Mayer and Tom did a collab🔥
They are both playing crossroads, it would be mental if a collab happens 🎸😍
IT HAPPENED!!!!
Dont invlove John Mayer to this trash

Tom is insaaanely talented. Love his feel for chords and his solos. Always heard a lot of John Mayer and Dilla in his music.
This guy had been my biggest inspiration the last 3 years. Absolutely love the vibes he creates through his music.
I heard this man for the first time two days ago. I have not stopped listening to him. Just a unique sound. Oh yeah and he's a Fender guy 😉
Tom Misch rules! I just did a lesson on the track he's playing here on my channel - "losing my way"

The whole of continuum and trio is meant to be blues? Have you never seen their live stuff?
Dead and Company boyyys

That's my point though- he's never stopped doing blues? He's still doing it all, I don't know why you think that's something he doesn't touch anymore?

Can't believe I've never heard this guy before so funky so cool.
Met this guy in a church in Iceland over new years, super nice guy and brilliant musician. Atta boy tom!
Tom Misch's music is one of the ways guitar music will come back to the mainstream! Insane talent 🔥
Oh sure He deserves Fender's attention. To me, he's a guitar hero and will be to many others.
Tom Misch is a massive John Mayer fan and it shows.
I saw him in Glasgow, he put on a great show, built the tension and jammed inbetween, respect

Tom fan of John Mayer .... it's so logical !!!
And John said hes a fan of Tom as well!
Vaughan influenced Mayer, Mayer influenced Misch and Misch influenced me, the problem is that I still play like lil wayne hahaha lol
Lmao
Saw him in Dallas ❤ The crowd was SO diverse in background and age and just jammed out. Tom Misch is a gem!
Awesome, this is in Paradiso in the Netherlands!
Jeroen Koppenol great venue. Saw Sylvan Esso there. Was in Amsterdam on holiday and it was recommended to see a show at paradiso
I adore this man
This ad is pretty much the main reason I picked up a performer strat, that and it sounds amazing of course
Team working for commercials for fender is so good i can’t believe it. I’m waiting for the new videos all the time

Bout time Fender featured this man. Expanding the strat sound and its application one record at a time.
This guy is next level - saw him in Birmingham - ridiculously good
I have literally bought me the performer strat just because of this video! It has just arrived and I'm practicing the disco yes lick right now.
Hey that’s Paradiso! The most beautiful concert venue in all of the Netherlands!
So good to see tom making it in the music world what a talent
I was actually there at the concert and super surprised he wasn't playing his sunburst strat, now I know why haha! Great vid!

Tom Misch is the coolest
Can you guys give this man a signature guitar already!? I'll give y'all all my money in exchange

I think it's a wah pedal with reverb or chorus. Not sure though
yeah I would love to know. It might be an automatic way that doesn't require a foot pedal@@jooolius
