I don't know if the music industry is dying or not but I can say the music is not nearly as good as it was in the 60s and 70s and maybe a little into the 80s. I'm astonished at how many young people are getting into this older music. It's because the new stuff is crap. It has been for a long time.
Tom MacDonald and some country bands are among those going independent and are raking in the money. They don't have the industry telling them what to do or control them. That's excellent.
wait something’s changed - I was surprised to hear that touring is the primary source of income…. Back in the 80s it was record sales and it was enough for the tour to break even promoting the band….
This video was recommended to me by the algorithm, I'm not really interested in the supposed answer, I can see the answer that makes sense to me and it came a few weeks after I sort of learned who Christina, Charisma, Cordelia, I dunno, that blond Carpenter girl, is. Well, I should not say I sort of learned who she is, I heard her name for the first time hovering over a youtube thumbnail, like this one. Someone was doing a new review of the top ten songs, guitar teacher I think. He acted unsurprised to see Miss Carpenter's name appear not once, not twice, but five times, on the Spotify top 10. It was the first time I'd heard her name, ever. I don't Spotify. Then, as I was eluding to, several weeks later, last Thursday maybe, Wednesday? Not sure, I was watching a news report and saw that Miss Carpenter had performed with Taylor Swift(problems are notable I think, she's not bad). The way Miss Carpenter conducted herself on stage with Miss Swift in just a few seconds of footage in that report, yes, the music industry is dying.

@@robshaw2639 it has been live shows for nearly 2 decades
I'd rather be independent. It seems lile more work but you know what you have.
