Would you recommend working as a grad student

It definitely depends on the situation. Part time is good, I worked part time up until I had to do externships for clinical experience. The externships were full time hours so its hard to work another job on top of that. So depending on the program you may be able to work for the first half of the program then just do school the second half. If you can manage working and grad school go for it!
