I also have a 2013 C63 but coupe and in Silver. If it wasn't for working 5 days a week, I'd spend hours driving around in it. Never gets boring. Yes the mpg isn't great, but I wouldn't buy a C63 if you need a car for commuting. I'm lucky enough to work from home and my office is one DLR stop away. As a result, the car gets purely used for leisure. I can never get bored of the sound. The moment I out of my drive and turn onto the road, the engine wakes up and really it never fails to make me smile.
I buy the parts for the service myself. Oil, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter, brake pads if need changes, brake fluid, coolant etc - all C63 parts directly from mercedes Newcastle (they literally deliver the next day through their eBay shop). I also put new spark plugs in at around 40K miles. I take it to an engineer who has always serviced my parents mercedes' over the past 15 years in Essex. The only annoyance is the car tax - £650 is quite dear. Fingers crossed and touch wood, I've only had one issue so far - a passenger side airbag recall by mercedes - needed to be updated with new airbags, and that was done at mercedes Stratford for free.
I always said that I wouldn't be a traditionalist and would always consider newer models, technology etc. But I've driven the c63s and also been seeing reviews of the new C63 that is due to come out in 2023. And I have to say that I'm yet to see a car that I'd swap mine for. I'm sure there are quicker and more fancy vehicles out there, but I'm happy with what I have 😀

Are your valve gasket crusty yet? At 70k I did Valve cover gasket and spark plus.

@@joseanguiano4752 I put in new spark plugs at 45,000. fingers crossed and touch wood I haven't had an issues, let alone gasket or valve gasket related. The person who does the service specialises in mercedes, so I'm hoping that if an issue comes up, he would highlight it and fix.

@@Baresi-Unico-Capitano valve gasket normally need change around the 75k - 100k miles it cost me 800$ but it is smart to do them with the spark plugs and you will only pay labor for the vavle gaskets, because they are both right next to each other. Instead of 800$ I think it was only 200$ extra on top of the spark plugs so around 1k for both. Have you had anything to wrong besides normal wear serves jobs?

@Paragon Great Review. If you do not mind I'd like to add some info on maintenance. I have a 2013 C63 with P31, U70 and 471. I just did a what I call a double major service. I have 50,000 miles on the odometer. Service included new spark plugs, fuel injectors, Oil/Egr valve on the back on the intake and clean BMC air filters, serpentine belt and all pully's and tensioner, 9 liters of motul oil, and the Brake Pads and Rotors. I went with the Brembo 2 pc floating rotors in the front and the Brembo OEM for the rear, Brembo Pads, (the black ones, not the new red ceramic one) and Brembo brake fluid change bought from Brembo direct. Also Changed all the radiator hoses and coolant tank, put on some new Michelin Powersport 4s tyres. Now my car runs/screams like it is just broken in. For a Dollar Figure I bought all the parts myself and brought them to my Mechanic. Parts were about $3,000 and labor $1,800. Tyres were $1,400 with alignment. This is something to keep mind when you are looking at a used C63 with 50,000 miles or more. The car you are looking at might not need all these parts, but it will soon need them and keep these numbers in mind when discussing price.

What about a CLA 45 2016-2018 with more than 50k? Will the maintenance be as bad?

@@CharlieMayhew-jq7iv Hello Charlie, in my opinion it would not cost as much to maintain, but since it's a 4 cylinder with 50k I think more of the hard parts will wear out faster especially if the current owner drove it in a spirited way. This would also apply to the A45-s

@@CharlieMayhew-jq7iv IMO. I would have you take it to a Mercedes Dealership and ask them to do a PPI (Pre-purchase Inspection) and a Full Health Report. The FHR they will plug in their computer/handheld into the cars OBD Port and will look at all the current and stored faults. After you have all this data you will be able to make an informed decision on whether to buy or not. Not sure how much these two services will cost you up front but it will save you thousands in the long run.

You gotta love the W204 C63 especially the Edition 507, it is one of the best cars AMG has ever made.
Super car performance with everyday practicality.
Last of the 6.2 litre V8
    Definitely a future classic.

    It’s 6.208
Which becomes a 6.3 in Germany as once you go over 6.2 you cannot call it a 6.2
Just like the 5 liter v10 in the bmw m5 is actually a 4.99 L

20mpg isnt actually that bad around the town. Probs 25-30 on a motorway. My m4 does about 25-30 on a good run and its engine is half the size

    • @ParagonCarsLondon

For what it is it's not bad. Overall though, it's very expensive to run as once you put your foot down you can easily get into single figures for mpg haha.
